B GRADE News Round 20

B GRADE – RESULTS & LADDER:

For the second week in a row the top side, Jockys, has lost to an Albany Links team. This time the Slashers 2 added to the post-origin hangover for the President’s Shield winners. A solid all round performance from the Links team as they continue to close the gap on the Devils. For the Jocky’s, Derek Smart won all his matches but some of the regular performers need to hit the oche.

The Tri-Hards closed the gap at the top to 4 points with a 9-6 win over the in-form Bulls. The return of Marvellous Marty Tuohy with 3 circles and 5 tons was a big factor whilst for the Wanderers it was that man again, Scotty Makin doing the damage with 3 wins from 3.

The Arrows continue their winning ways with a 9-6 win over the Slashers 1 outfit. Coming into the last round of singles down 5-4 captain Chadders led the way, Leo, Dom and Lyn followed to seal the win and Martin put some icing on the cake. Martin with 3 circles was the stand-out performer but the Corey from the Slashers was a machine. Won all his matches and powered to 8 tons including two 140’s and a 160 (must be training with “Double Top” Dorro).

In the final match the Devils were relentless against the Wanderers jumping to a 6-1 before winning 11-4. Steve and Ash led the way winning all their games. Lance and Dave doing their bit for the Wanderers with 2 wins a piece.

A Grade News Round 20

A GRADE – RESULTS & LADDER:

So sincere apologies for the lack of a round-up last week, the last couple of results came in a bit late for me to do much else …. BUT

Special congratulations to the Two Darts who took out the President’s Shield with 18-3 win over the previously undefeated Scorpions. Able to field 6 players for the first time in two months the Two Darts were a team possessed and whilst most legs were close the Two Dart crew were giving no quarter and were hitting every double.

With a bye to the Scorpions this week the Two Darts had the opportunity to overtake them with a victory against the Ex Pats. Probably not the best time for the Ex Pats to be without their captain Mick Ward and superstar T-Dog (Tristan). Again the Two Darts turned up with one objective in mind and sliced through their opponents 17 games to 4. Ian Pearson putting up the best resistance with 2 singles wins for the Ex Pats. That puts the Two Darts on top, at least for one week as they have the bye this week.

At the other end of the table the Vipers had their 3rd 11-10 score line in a row and secured a come from behind victory over the Panthers after Jack pegged double 8 in the final leg against Shane. Paz smashed out 13 tons and won every game while Bilbo hit a 180 for the Vipers. For the Panthers Gabe was in sparkling form hitting two 180’s and narrowly missing a 3rd to win all his matches.

The Dragons held out a spirited 5-player Imports line-up 12-9. Arthur Owen the star for the Dragons with 9 tons including a 180. Nev Senior won all his matches while John Rankine smashed out 17 tons including two 180’s. Would be remiss of me not to mention Jamie’s 140 peg also.

The Motley Crew held out the Javelins, also 12-9 with Shayne, Aaron and John going the night undefeated with Mr Ives hitting a 180. For the Javelins after losing his doubles Bryan then went on a rampage winning all 3 singles without dropping a leg and in some cases not even offering a sniff off a double.
