Round 16:

Imports 7 vs Dragons 14 – Match Stats

134 tons !! Save to say it was a red hot night at Gaythorne with the majority of singles going to 3 the result deserved to be closer. Carlos (16 tons and 4 wins) and Banz (14 tons, 180 and 4 wins) set up the victory. Ciaran (14 tons) threw an 18 darter and a huge welcome to Qld Junior Representative Ky Smith who christened his entry to the league with 10 tons and 3 wins. For the Imports Jack hit 17 tons including a 110 peg. Nev hit a 113 peg and an 18 darter with Shane hitting a 180 along with the irrepressible JR who won 3 and hit 15 tons.

Raptors 9 vs Scorpions 12 – Match Stats

The Raptors jumped to a 4-1 lead and there was definitely the scent of an upset in the air. The Scorpions had other ideas though and with the match in the Scorpions favor at 10-9 Joe and Willie closed out the match. Willie hit a 112 peg in his 9 tons on his way to 4 wins with Michael (7 tons) and Joe (5 tons) winning 3 each. Outstanding night for Corey with 15 tons, 4 wins and a 17 dart leg well supported by Don, 3 wins and 5 tons.

Rat Pack 12 vs Vipers 9 – Match Stats

Uncharacteristically the Rat Pack led 3-0 after the doubles and thankfully so as the Vipers pushed them all the way. Justin hit a 180 and eight 140’s in his 17 tons including a 17 & 18 dart leg and most importantly won 4 games. Max (8 tons and a 180), Horse (12 tons) and Aaron (9 tons) won 3 each also. Glen (7 tons) kept his high singles win percentage up with 3 wins, Jamie (10 tons) also won all his singles including a 16 dart and two 18 dart legs but it was Pat’s (12 tons) final match including back to back 180’s that had everyone excited, shame about the score before it.

Javelins vs Bye – Match Stats

A bye for the Javs.

Cannons vs Devils – Match Stats

Devils are right in the playoff mix with a solid win over Cannons.  Another tie that proved the importance of the doubles games as Devils took a 3-0 lead and this was the final margin of victory.

Another top performance from Mark who led the way for Cannons with 9 tons and 3 singles wins while Arthur won twice and went to a decider in his other two games.  On the Devils side of the sheet there were 3 wins each for Ash (3 tons) and that man Christian again who hit 9 tons.  Mentions also to a returning Rudi (welcome back!), Randall who seems to be getting into the swing of things, Steve who hit 10 tons and missed a 16 darter.  One last shout out to Bangers who drew Christian in all three rounds of singles, taking him out at the final attempt.

Jockys 14 vs Nek Minit 7 – Match Stats

Jockys keep themselves in contention in a very tight division where all the teams are still in the race for a playoff spot.  The bulk of the damage was done in the first two rounds of singles where they won 9 out of the 12 games.

Top Jocks on the night were Clive (3 wins, 4 tons) and Peter (3 wins from 3, 3 tons).  For Nek Minit it was Dylan (2 wins, 3 tons) and super-sub Lance (also 2 wins and 3 tons).

Round 16:

ALGC 7 vs Tri-Hards 8 – Match Stats

Some teams don’t travel well and some don’t travel at all yet the Tri-Hards manage to battle on and in a fantastic match it was Dave Render hitting the winning double to seal victory and keep their finals hopes alive. Dave (2 tons) along with Vickii (2 tons), Gila and Jess (1 ton) won 2 games a piece. Nicky threw a 180 in his three tons and along with Pieter (2 tons), Nandi and Hayden (2 tons) won 2 games each.

Gremlins 11 vs Arrows 4 – Match Stats

A match played very much in the spirit of the game. Terry (5 tons), Andrew (4 tons) and Guillaume (2 tons) won all their matches with Renita leading the Arrows charge with 3 tons and a win.

Round 15:

Scorpions 12 vs Imports 9 – Match Stats

Another match decided by the doubles with Scorpions jumping to a 3-0 lead. Imports bounced back but just couldn’t reel them in. Grant (12 tons), Brian M (12 tons), Joe (6 tons) and Michael (8 tons) won 3 games each with Brian A hitting a 180. JR won all his singles for the Imports with a 180 and 18 dart leg thrown in with Jack smacking in a 14 dart leg.

Vipers 13 vs Muppets 8 – Match Stats

Spirited performance from Muppets pushed the Vipers all the way. Glen (11 tons, 180 and 17 dart leg) and Jamie (9 tons) led the way with 4 wins each with Pas also hitting a 180. Scott (8 tons), Les (2 tons) and Stew (7 tons) won 2 games each with Tate hitting a 180.

Rat Pack 12 vs Raptors 9 – Match Stats

Rat Pack took all 3 doubles and just as well they did as the Raptors battled all the way. Horse (11 tons), Aaron (9 tons), Drew (8 tons) and Gabe (5 tons) won 3 games each whilst for the Raptors, Corey won 3 also hitting a 113 peg and a 16 dart leg with Matt hitting a 180.

Round 15:

Nek Minit 8 vs Motley Crew 13 – Match Stats

Still no stopping the Crew as they made it 13 from 13 with a 13 to 8 victory over Nek Minit at Chermside.

Good efforts in defeat from Daz (3 wins, 5 tons), Mark (2 singles wins, 7 tons) and Dylan (2 singles wins, 7 tons).  For MC Ross continues to impress with 4 wins from 4, 14 tons and a 103 peg while Sam also won all his games and hit 180 amongst his 6 tons.

Devils 16 vs Slashers 5 – Match Stats

A powerhouse performance from Devils this week against the Slashers.

Two wins each for the Denis (3 tons) and Brian (2 tons) on the Slashers side of the scorebook.  For the Devils it was the in-form duo of Steve (10 tons) and Christian (9 tons including 3 140’s) who were unbeaten on the night but mentions also tho Ken and Randall who both won 3 from 4.  Ken also combined with Steve for an impressive 19 dart leg of doubles.

Jockys 11 vs Javelins 10 – MatchStats

A classic encounter between Javelins and Jockys.  The lead changed a number of times but only decisively when the Jockys took the last three games to surge to the line.

For Jockys Derek (2 tons) and Gary (4 tons) were both three game winners on the night.  For the Javs both Bryan and Peter were untouchable with 4 wins from 4.  Peter was player of the night courtesy of his 17 dart leg and 7 tons.

Tri-Hards vs Bye – Match Stats

Wanderers 7 vs Arrows 8 – Match Stats

The lead changed several times early in the match with the Wanderers taking a 5-4 lead into the final round of single, Dom, Leo, Joel and lastly Dave won their singles to set up the win with Dom getting back to his best with 5 tons. For the Wanderers we have to say congrats to Lance for his 180 and 3 wins with 3 tons, great darts mate.

ALGC 6 vs Gremlins 9 – Match Stats

A good win for Gremlins keeps it tight at the top as they stay level with Wanderers on 20 points.  For ALGC Nicky had a good night with 3 wins and 5 tons while Grace took out a bull finish.  For Gremlins the standout was Guillaume who won 3 from 3 and hit a 140 although a mention to Christian who had a bull finish of his own.

Vipers vs Bye – Match Stats

A week off for the Vipers.

Dragons 12 vs Scorpions 9 – Match Stats

A real see-sawing game saw the Dragons take an 8-7 lead into the final round of singles and the Scorpions just couldn’t get the crucial legs to keep it alive. Solid night from Ray with 4 wins and 16 tons including a 180, 122 & 132 peg, 15 and 17 dart legs. Great support from Edgey with 15 tons and a 14 dart leg, Ciaran a 180 in his 13 tons (4 wins) and a 180 from Banz also. Brian M smashed in 16 tons and a 16 dart leg with the other Brian A hitting 11 tons and a 136 peg

Muppets 5 vs Raptors 16 – Match Stats

Raptors enjoyed their first win of the season and in impressive style. Don and Corey won all their matches with Don pegging 158 but liam won the ton count with 8. The Muppets without Stewy still played well and most games went to 3 legs with Peter hitting 6 and Tate 5 tons.

Round 14:

Motley Crew 13 vs Jockys 8 – Match Stats

Another great effort to get one over on the Crew falls just short.  With everything to play for in the final round of singles MC ran away with the round 5 games to 1.

For the Jockys it was a great night for Ian (4 wins from 4, 3 tons) with solid support from Clive who won 2 of his singles and hit a 112 peg.  For the Crew Sam B (4 wins, 3 tons) and Ross (4 wins, 11 tons) were the chief destroyers.

Javelins 12 vs Cannons 9 – Match Stats

Once again the Javs opened up an early lead and never let it slip.  Leading the way for the victors were Hugh (4 wins) and Bryan who had 3 wins from 3 and 6 tons including a 180.   For the Cannons Craig edged it with 3 wins and 5 tons.  A few other players had two wins on the night but a special mentions to Gav who hit 10 tons and Mark who took out 107.

Devils 10 vs Nek Minit 11 – Match Stats

The B grade game of the round took place at Everton Park where Nek Minit overcame Devils 11-10 despite being a player down.

For NM Mark was unstoppable with 4 wins and 7 tons, and Ngawai was on fire with a 114 peg and 3 wins.  Christian of the Devils could not have done much more with 3 singles, a 180, a 92 peg and a 112 peg.  I’m not sure his way of taking out 112 with treble 20, double 1 and the bullseye will become the standard but it’s a crowd pleasing way to do it if you’re good enough.

Tri-Hards 6 vs Wanderers 9 – Match Stats

The Wanderers are proving to be very hard to beat. Another solid all round performance with everyone contributing, Dave Hoy just getting line honours with 4 tons. Tri-Hards never far away and came back well after going behind 5-2. Cathy and Vickii with 2 wins each and Dave Render with 3 tons.

Arrows 6 vs ALGC 9 – Match Stats

So who upset Pieter. 10 tons must almost be some sort of C grade record and along with Nandi and Nicky (5 tons) remained undefeated for the night, special mention to Hayden also with 4 tons. Arrows captain Scotty Makin led from the front with 3 wins and 2 tons and a big welcome back to Leo.

Raptors vs Bye – Match Stats

A bye for The Raptors this week.

Muppets 4 vs Dragons 17 – Match Stats

73 tons to the Dragons capped off one of the best performances of the year. Carlos (14 tons, two 180’s, 18 dart leg), Ciaran (12 tons) and Banz (11 tons and 100 peg) won all their matches with Keith pegging 108 and Edgar hitting 16 tons. Stewy was equal to the task for the Muppets with 16 tons and 3 wins.

Scorpions 8 vs Rat Pack 13 – Match Stats

Standard start from the Pack going behind after the doubles and then barnstorming the first round of singles. Horse (16 tons) and Aaron (12 tons) won all their matches with Drew hitting a 180. For the Scorpions Scotty was unbeaten with Brian M throwing 13 tons including a 180. Michael also hit a maximum, Brian A a 110 peg, Joe a 100 peg and Willie a 104 peg.

Jockys 8 vs Devils 13 – Match Stats

A return to winning ways for the Devils who pulled away decisively in the last two rounds of singles.

The home team spread the wins around with Patrick, Ian and Derek all claiming 2 each while Gary led the ton count with 6.  On the Devils side their were big nights for Steve (4 wins from 4, 6 tons), Ash (4 wins from 4, 4 tons) and Christian (3 singles wins, 4 tons).

Nek Minit 9 vs Javelins 12 – Match Stats

A great game by all accounts with the result in the balance into the last round of singles when the score was 8-all.

Lots of good darts from both teams.  For Nek Minit it was an outstanding night for Mark with 4 wins from 4, 12 tons and a 16 darter.  Also throwing well was Archie with 11 tons and a 106 peg.  For the Javelins Luch won 4 from 4 with Bryan edging the honours among the 2 game winners courtesy of his team high 8 tons.

Cannons 14 vs Slashers 7 – MatchStats

Another good performance from a Cannons side with plenty of depth.  The home team won each round and were good value for the 14-7 win.

Two players stood slightly taller for the Cannons; Craig (7 tons) and Ben (5 tons) who both won 4 from 4 but mentions to 3-game winners Gav and Banger.  For the visitors it was 2 wins apiece for Brian, Denis and Michael.

Gremlins 11 vs Tri-Hards 4 – Match Stats

A high quality game at Wantima with 26 tons and the Gremlins sent a message to the rest of the division with a resounding won. Andrew hit 4 tons including a 147 peg and along with Terry and Peter won all his games. The Tri-hards played better than the result reads with almost everyone getting a win with Jess just edging the ton count with 4.

Wanderers 9 vs ALGC 6 – Match Stats

The Wanderers continue to chug along and can’t be underestimated. Lance with 3 tons  and Snow and Tim winning both their singles set up the win. Nicky solid as always with 7 tons and 3 wins  and well supported by Aden and Pieter.
