Round 20:

Imports 15 vs Vipers 6 – Match Stats

The red hot Imports were at it again with a a 15-6 win over the 4th place Vipers.

Glen continued his great form with 3 wins and 14 tons and both Jamil (4 tons) and Pas (10 tons) won a pair of games.

There were big nights for a few of the Imports players.  JR had two 18 darters. hit 11 tons and won 3 games…..  Jamie hit 10 tons and won all 3 of his singles…. Shane had a 110 peg, 3 singles wins and 7 tons…. Frosty hit an 18 darter and 13 tons….  A top team performance.

Rat Pack 9 vs Scorpions 12 – Match Stats

The five man Rat Pack were unable to pull off an unlikely victory against the third place Scorpions.  The final scoreline shows that the games played were split 9 apiece but the 3 forfeits took the Scorps home.

Justin (7 tons) was strongest for the Pack with 3 singles wins ably assisted with 2 wins each from Max, who hit 6 tons including a 180, and Aaron with 10 tons including a maximum, a 100 peg and an 18 darter.

For Scorpions Joe (6 tons) and BA (12 tons and a 100 peg) led the way with three wins each with Scotty firing in 16 tons and an 18 darter.

Round 20:

Slashers 5 vs Cannons 16 – Match Stats

The Cannons were firing on all cylinders at Enoggera taking the game 16 to 5.

A great night in defeat for Peter who won all of his singles games and hit 8 tons.  For the Cannons both Benny (4 wins, 6 tons) and Arthur (3 wins, 6 tons) were undefeated while Bnager won all his singles and knocked in 6 tons as well.

Motley Crew vs Bye – Match Stats

A week off for the Crew this week.

Devils 11 vs Jockys 10 – Match Stats

A huge comeback for the Devils who were staring at a 9-6 deficit with the final round of singles to go.  They got the game back to 9-all, went 10-9 behind then took the last two games to squeak to victory.

Josh led the way for Jockys with 3 wins and 3 tons while Ben kept his scoring boots on for a second week, hitting 11 to go with last week’s 13.

For Devils Christian was unstoppable with 4 wins, 8 tons and a 17 darter and he had excellent support from Steve (2 wins, 6 tons) and Randall (2 wins, 4 tons).

Some tidy finishing in this game by all accounts with Dave taking out 76, Steve 74 and Pat 70.

Nek Minit 9 vs Javelins 12 – Match Stats

As happens so often we have a game where one teams gets off to flyer in the doubles and holds that lead to the end, this time the Javs going off to a 3-0 lead and winning by 3.

For Nek Minit Archie was in good form with two wins, a high score of 174 and a high peg of 129.  The other two game winners were Ty (3 tons), Daz (6 tons) and Mark (8 tons).

For the high flying Javs it was Peter’s night with 7 tons and 4 wins from 4 without losing a leg.  Three game winners were Keith (5 tons), Gavin (3 tons) and Bryan (7 tons including a 180).

Round 20:

Arrows 11 vs Wanderers 4 – Match Stats

A comprehensive win for the Arrows.  They took the doubles 3-0 and both rounds of singles 4-2 to emerge 11-4 winners overall.

For the Wanderers Lance stood out with 2 singles wins and a ton with Snow hitting a score of 156.  On the Arrows side two players won 3 from 3…. Vinnie and Dom, who also hit 4 tons.  Renita banged in 6 tons and Chadders hit a 171.

Round 19:

Imports 17 vs Muppets 4- Match Stats

The fact that Imports sit 5th in the ladder is a testament to the quality of A grade this season.

For the Muppets it was Stuey leading the way once again with 2 wins and 5 tons whilst Scott banged in 7 tons and picked up a win.

I’m going to have to find out what Frosty and JR did on the bye week as they were in unbeatable form.  Neither player dropped a leg all night with JR hitting 20 tons (yes, TWENTY) and Frosty 6, all of which were 120+.  Nev also won 4 from 4 and hit 10 tons to round out a strong victory.

Vipers 12 vs Raptors 9 – Match Stats

The Wantima bragging rights go to the Vipers thanks to a 5-from-6 first round of singles.  The Raptors edged the last two rounds 7 games to 5 but the damage had been done.

The Raptors spread their wins around but mentions to Corey (2 wins, 10 tons), Liam (2 wins, 9 tons) and Glen who hit a 180.

On the Vipers side there were stunning performances from Glen (7 tons including 2 ton-plus checkouts and a 180) and Pat (11 tons), neither player dropping a leg all night.  Also, Pas hit a 14 darter and fired in 9 tons in his 2 singles wins. 

Rat Pack 11 vs Dragons 10 – Match Stats

An excellent win for Rat Pack at The Brook which showed exactly why they are reigning champions and league leaders.  They once again proved they can come from behind and get wins from anyone in the team.

For the visitors Raymond hit 27 tons and 5 low games with excellent support from Carlos who won 3 from 4, hit 11 tons including two 180’s and two low games.  Edgey rounded out the Dragons low games with a 17 darter.

For the Pack it was a classic team performance,  Three wins each for Gabe (12 tons and a 111 peg) and Max (9 tons) whilst Horse hit a 148 peg, Terry a 100 peg and Justin fired in a 180.

Nek Minit vs Bye – Match Stats

Cannons 11 vs Jockys 10 – Match Stats

The Cannons notched another win at Jockys with the 11-10 scoreline slightly misleading given the Jockys won the last 4 games with the result already decided,

For Jockys Ian won his 3 singles hitting 8 tons and Pat, Clive and Peter won 2 each.  Ben went on a ton frenzy banging in 13 of them.  For Cannons Arthur (5 tons) had a storming night bagging 4 circles and Mark (2 tons), Gav (1 ton) and Craig (8 tons) picked up 2 wins apiece.

Motley Crew 16 vs Devils 5 – Match Stats

The Crew steamroller continues on its way with a 16-5 win over a very handy Devils side.

Rudi (6 tons) and Christian (5 tons) were solid in a losing effort with 2 wins each.  For the Crew three players went unbeaten with Ross (11 tons), Sam (3 tons) and Chris G (2 tons).

Javelins 15 vs Slashers 6 – Match Stats

The 5 men of Slashers took on a near-full strength Javelins and went down 15-6.

For Slashers Denis won 2 of his 3 singles hitting 6 tons on the way while Brian pounded in 10 of his own and picked up a win.   On the Javs side three players went undefeated with Peter(4 from 4) continuing his rich vein of form as he went through singles without dropping a leg,  Luch (4 from 4) hit 5 tons and Bryan (3 from 3).

Round 19:

Wanderers 6 vs Tri-Hards 9- Match Stats

A very good win for Tri-Hards against the high flying Wanderers which closed the gap for second to 2 points.

For the victors Dave and Jess were unbeaten with 3 wins from 3, both hitting 2 tons.  The two standouts for the Wanderers were Tim (2 wins and 5 tons) and Lance, who not only won both his singles but hit a monster 145 peg!

Arrows 6 vs ALGC 9 – Match Stats

A see-saw encounter at Chermside saw Arrows storm to a 3-1 lead before ALGC reeled off 6 in a row to take a decisive lead.  As the games ran out ALGC were able to match the Cannons win for win to take the game 9-6.

For Arrows Dom had 3 wins and 4 tons, Renita notched another 2 wins, and Scotty pounded the 19’s to good effect with 4 scores of a 117+.

For ALGC Nicky was the standout with 3 wins from 3 and 5 tons, with Nandi, Aden and Christo winning 2 games apiece as well.

A week’s rest for the Imports.

Scorpions 14 vs Vipers 7 – Match Stats

Apologies to Brian M.  Due to a telecoms hitch the scoresheet was lost in my phone…

A solid win win for the Scorps with 4 of their players winning 3 of their games: Brian M (7 tons), Scott (10 tons including a 180), Ian (6 tons) and Bob (11 tons).  For the Vipers the picks were Glen with 2 wins, 8 tons (including a maximum) and a 118 peg and Pat with 2 wins, 8 tons and a 106 peg.

Raptors 9 vs Dragons 12 – Match Stats

Another solid performance by the Dragons beating Raptors 12-9 at Wantima.

For the home team Corey led the way with 3 wins and 13 tons.  Two wins apiece for Don (11 tons) and Wayne (6 tons).  For the visitors Banz won 4 from 4, hit 10 tons and an 18 darter.  Ky continues to impress (3 wins, 10 tons) and Edgey (3 wins, 8 tons) keeps showing his class.  Carlos had both the high peg with 141 and the most tons with 15 whilst  Ky and Edgar had an 18 dart doubles leg.

Muppets 5 vs Rat Pack 16 – Match Stats

The Muppets were over-powered by a Rat Pack side somewhere near the top of their game.  The Brook local derby ended 15 games to 6 to the Pack.

Once again Stuey showing he can mix it with anyone with 10 tons and 3 wins.  For the Pack it was quality across the board.  Unbeaten on the night with 4 wins from 4 were Horse (11 tons) and Justin who hit 13 tons, a 180, a 16 darter and a 17 darter.  Three game winners were Aaron (9 tons) and Max (12 tons, a 125 peg, a 17 darter and 18 darter).  Rounding out the mentions for RP is Gabe who hit a maximum and a 17 dart leg in his two singles wins.

Jockys vs Bye – Match Stats

Motley Crew 11 vs Cannons 10 – Match Stats

Another 11-10 thriller involving the Crew with the Cannons taking the game to a final leg decider.

Four from four winner Ross had a huge night with 18 tons in total of which 2 were 180’s and 6 were 140’s.  Sam also had a maximum and won all his singles wins including the crucial 21st game.

A cracking team effort that just came up short for the Cannons.  Gav probably just edged the honours with 7 tons and 3 wins while Mark, Bangers and Craig won two each with the former Bull hitting a team-high 9 tons.

Javelins 12 vs Devils 9 – Match Stats

The Devils gave it their all against the Javelins but the home team were just too strong.

For the Javs Luch (6 tons) and Tony both won 3 games.  For the Devils Steve won 2 games and hit 9 tons and Ash took out 115 peg.

But the game of the night involved two of the players of the night, Christian and Peter.  In Christian’s own words: “The best game of darts I’ve played in. Peter goes 1-0 up with an 18 dart finish. I level it with a 20 dart finish, and then I win it 2-1 with another 18 dart game. Scoring 7 Tons in the game to Pete’s 6“.  Christian ended up with 4 wins from 4 and 13 tons in total.  Top darts!

Nek Minit 15 vs Slashers 6 – MatchStats

The four man team of Slashers fought as hard as they could but it was an impossible task against Nek Minit.

For Slashers Denis (4 tons), Mick (3 tons) and Brian (6 tons) won two games each.  For NM (forfeits aside) Mark won 3 from 3 and hit 5 tons while Archie hit an impressive 18 darter and 5 tons during his 2 singles victories.

C GRADE – Full Ladder

Round 18:

Tri-Hards 6 vs Gremlins 9 – Match Stats

This win by the Gremlins, by my calculations, sees them clinch the minor premiership with two weeks to go.  I stand ready to be corrected (well sit, it’s too hot to stand).

For Gremlins Guillaume won 3 from 3 and hit 6 tons while Terry (4 tons) and Andrew (3 tons) bagged 2 wins each.  Two game winners for Tri-Hards were Lyn (1 ton) and Gila (2 tons) while David fired in 6 tons.

ALGC 8 vs Wanderers 7 – Match Stats

Another one of those close encounters that make the league what it is.  The Wanders fell behind in the doubles before surging to a 7-4 lead only for ALGC to win the last four games to take in 8-7.

Nicky (2 tons) and Pieter (6 tons) both won 3 games from 3 for ALGC.  Top Wanderers were Snow and Mick who both won 2 games.

Round 17:

Imports 10 vs Raptors 11 – Match Stats

A much needed win for Raptors against Imports who did the damage in round one of the singles, taking 4 of the 6.

Corey (9 tons) unstoppable in singles with 3 wins while Graham picked up 3 wins as well.  Don fired in 10 tons including a 120 peg.  For Imports Nev Sr won 4 from 4 with 8 tons and JR hit 13 tons, a 115 peg and an 18 darter.  Star performance of the night, and possibly the season so far, from Frosty who had 3 wins, a 17 darter and 3 180’s in amongst his 12 tons.  Great stuff!!

Muppets 9 vs Scorpions 12 – Match Stats

Another close game in which the Scorpions held an 8-7 lead with a round to go before powering to the line.

For the Muppets four players had two wins each but a mention to the ever reliable Stuey, who hit 10 tons and Tate who hit 8.  For the Scorps BA (10 tons) led the way with 4 wins and a 17 darter while Brian M (12 tons including a 180) and Grant (12 tons) had 3 wins each.

Vipers 8 vs Dragons 13 – Match Stats

Another game that was closer than the scoreline suggests with nearly every game going to a decider.

Two wins for Pas (8 tons) and three for Glen (9 tons) who went 17 darts, 18 darts against Blags while Pat hit 12 tons.  For the Dragons Carlos (13 tons) and Banz had 3 wins each with Ky (10) and Ciaran (13) getting into double figures in the ton count.    Worth mentioning Blags had a 104 peg.

Round 17:

Motley Crew 11 vs Javelins 10 – Match Stats

The Crew maintain their unbeaten record in a thriller that went all the way.  In fact an upset looked on the cards as the Javs won the first 4 games of the final round of singles to take a 10-9 lead before MC dipped for the line taking the last 2.  Almost a shame to have a loser in games like this.

For Javs Max and Peter (9 tons) had 3 wins each and Bryan hit a 180.  For MC Sam (8 tons) and Tim (7 tons) had 3 wins each while Ross hit 11 tons including a 180.

Nek Minit 11 vs Cannons 10 – MatchStats

As happens so often we have another game where the doubles proved so important as Nek Minit took a 3-0 lead.  Cannons clawed back to 10-all by winning 5 from 5 in the last round of singles before NM closed it out in the final game of the night.

Blain (5 tons), Ngawai (3 tons and a 106 peg),Ty (2 tons) and Mark (8 tons) won 3 each.  For Cannons Ben (4 tons) and Bangers (4 140’s and one straight ton) won 3 each.
