BNSDC Season 2015 – Round 36

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Two Darts 17 v Imports 4 – Match Stats

Looks like Two Darts have timed their run perfectly and are about to get the whip out in the home straight. Greg with a 119 peg, 17 and 18 dart game, Alex with a 108 and Rick with a 180. The under strength Imports fought bravely with Shane hitting 10 and John 14 tons including a 180 and an 18 dart game helping him win 3 games.

Ex Pats 11 v Panthers 10 – Match Stats

Panthers got off to a flyer blitzing to a 7-2 lead and a win looked academic for the felines. But never write off the Hillbillies as they came thundering home winning 5 of the last 6 singles with Mick F and Donny securing what seemed an unlikely victory an hour before. Tristan threw 16 tons with 2 wind, Donny a 180 in his 8 tons with 3 wins and Stewy a 14 darter along with 3 wins and 10 tons. Another big night for Max with 9 tons, a 100 peg and 4 wins.

Dragons 14 v Javelins 7 – Match Stats

The Dragons all but ended the contest after winning all the first round of singles but the Javelins did claw it back. Greg and Mark E with 4 rings led the way while Keith F did his bit with 2 singles win. Without a shadow of a doubt, the worst score sheets of the season. so many conflicting circles I really have no idea which sheet is right. Were you guys all drunk ? The upside of the Javelins loss is that irrespective of the Vipers receiving a forfeit last week the ladder would not have changed unless they lost 21-0 to Ex Pats.

Scorpions 13 v Motley Crew 8 – Match Stats

This match was much closer than the score suggests with the Scorpions battling all the way to take the points. Young Dave Hill the only Scorpion to win all 3 singles with Scotty edging Horse on the tons 14-12. Scotty along with Dave and Brian hit 180’s while for the MC the artist formerly known as “King”, Richard Webber, had a cracking night with 13 tons and 4 wins to his name..

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Arrows 8 v Bulls 7 – Match Stats

The Arrows fell totally asleep as they conceding the last 4 games to reduce their winning margin to 1. Marty B made a welcome return winning all 3 games whilst for the Bulls, Glenn was unstoppable with 3 rings for the night.

Jockys 9 v Wanderers 6 – Match Stats

Top plays bottom in this home derby. After a long season in which the fortunes of each team took opposite directions, it was to the Wanderers immense credit that they took the fight up to the Jockys. Mick Kenny and Lance Albert had good games both with two wins a piece. David Hoy also triumphed against Jockys evergreen Gary Thompson in probably his best match for the season. Derek Smart had a rare off night missing out in both singles games. Interestingly, the powerhouse combination of Clive Allen and Ian Newton in the doubles failed to fire for the umpteenth time this year. They redeemed themselves however in the singles along with Josh Allen.

Slashers1 8 v Slashers2 7 – Match Stats

In the first of this week’s semi-final warm-up matches the Slashers 1 outfit knocked over their higher placed 2’s outfit in a gripping match with 16 players attending on the night, awesome. Nicky sealed the win with the last dart of the night to cap off a good night for him with 5 tons and 3 wins surpassed only by Corey who continues to improve with 6 tons and 3 wins. For the number 2’s it was Michael who won all his matches with Rean smashing out 7 tons.

Devils 8 v Tri-Hards 7 – Match Stats

The Devils won the dress rehearsal for this week’s knockout semi on the back of winning all the doubles and managing to hang on at the death with Dave and Justin clinching the victory after falling behind 7-6. Justin led the way with 6 tons, a 109 peg and 3 wins whilst for the Tri-Hards it was no surprise to see Marty notch a 180 as both he and Archie won both their singles but not before Vanessa gave Marty a hell of a battle. Banger also pegged 105 brilliantly … only problem was the goose had 103 left (sorry mate).

BNSDC Season 2015 – Round 35

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Two Darts 18 v Javelins 3 – Match Stats

A full strength Two Darts warmed up for the finals with a solid win. Alex with 106 and 107 pegs and Greg with 110 and a 155 to finish the evening. However both those two met Peter in sparkling form who managed to beat both 2-0 pegging 116 along the way and was poised to win his 3rd singles until Greg pulled out the 155.

Motley Crew 13 v Panthers 8 – Match Stats

Motley Crew may have sensed a touch of dejavu after going 3-0 up to find themselves reeled in to 5-4 but lessons learnt this week as they pulled away to win well. Richard was in ominous form, obviously had some hot competition during the week as he hit 12 tons and a 180. Sam and Aaron also had solid nights with 4 wins each. Gabe and Max lost their second doubles of the season scoring 22 tons between with Gabe going unbeaten in his singles.

Scorpions 13 v Dragons 8 – Match Stats

First versus third and Scorpions just too good on the night. Scotty starring with 4 wins, 17 tons, a 111 peg and an 18 dart leg, with Horse also winning 4. For the Dragons it was Arthur and Mark Edge winning 2 singles each (congrats to Mark Lee on the mystery bet win)

Vipers 21 v Ex Pats 0 (Forfeit)

Not the way the Vipers wanted to seal a spot in the plate finals but I think it’s the first time they have played a team with less than 6 players this season.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Arrows 8 v Slashers1 7 – Match Stats

Arrows got off to a flyer but were pegged back to 5-4 before Banz sealed the victory with his 3rd win of the night. Edgar was solid again with 9 tons and a 123 peg. Slashers1 were scoring well and won the tons battle 25-22 with Nicky leading the way with 8. Corey and Liam with 2 wins each.

Jockys 10 v Slashers2 5 – Match Stats

An all round performance from the Jockys to win against the Slashers 2 side 10-5.  The Jockys are back in ominous form  for the finals with nearly all players hitting top form. Some excellent play from Rean Funnell for the Slashers and Derek Smart, Ian Newton and Gary Thompson for the Jockys..

Tri-Hards 11 v Bulls 4 – Match Stats

Tri-Hards confirmed their home semi in 2 weeks with an emphatic win over the Bulls. No surprises it was Marty with 7 tons and 3 wins who shone for the Tri-Hards. The Bulls were not far away all night with alot of matches going to 3 legs.

Devils 12 v Wanderers 3 – Match Stats

The Devils rollercoaster continues to gather momentum. Justin and Col with 3 wins each and Col also hit a 111 peg. For the Wanderers Lance hit a 180 (nice one mate) and after what must have been an incredibly difficult week Snow came out and nearly won 3 games.

BNSDC Season 2015 – Round 34

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Ex Pats 13 v Javelins 8 – Match Stats

The Ex Pats started slowly but came thundering to beat the Javelins. Solid team effort with 4 players winning 3 games and Ian hitting 8 tons. For the Javelins it was the consistent Bryan with 8 tons and 3 wins.

Two Darts 14 v Panthers 7 – Match Stats

No upsets this time around but a very impressive result from the Panthers. Alex and Rick hit 180’s for Two Darts with 17 and 15 dart legs respectively but the night was all about Max. 16 tons including a 180 and two 17 dart games with 4 rings. Awesome buddy.

Scorpions 15 v Vipers 6 – Match Stats

The two biggest bunch of ratbags had a great night of darts. A clean sweep in the second round of singles ruined any chance of an upset for the Vipers. Horse and Scotty took 4 wins each although both had to work for it. John Hill hit a 180 as did the “Machine” Mountney. For the Vipers Jack hit a 180 and Bilbo hit 11 tons with 2 circles (thanks Deb).

Imports 11 v Motley Crew 10 – Match Stats

In the battle for 5th spot and a home semi the MC leapt to a 4-0 lead but the Imports kept chipping and it was the irrepressible John Rankine who completed a well-earned victory. Congrats to Ash for his 180 and also Graham who decided he didn’t need any more tons that night.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Jockys 9 v Slashers1 6 – Match Stats

The doubles turned out to be the deciding factor in this clash between the Jockys and Slashers 1 who still had a mathematical chance at the finals coming into this match. The Jockys leapt to a 3-0 lead after the doubles. The singles rounds were both 3 apiece with good games to Gary Thompson, Clive Allen (and a welcome return to form) for the Jockys and Nicky Kruger and Graham Parish for the Slashers 1 team. Corey Naumann was unlucky to only come away with one win but still banked 5 tons and Nicky added to his ton count with another 6 tons. Highlight of the night was provided by Marshall Thompson with a 100 peg. In the end the Jockys completed the night 9-6 thus settling the finals make-up for B Grade in a couple of weeks time.

Tri-Hards 9 v Slashers2 6 – Match Stats

The Tri-Hards all but sealed a home semi with a tough match against the Slashers2. That man Mr Tuohy racked up another 7 tons and 3 rings with Rob for the Slashers matching him in rings but not in tons (2).

Devils 14 v Bulls 1 – Match Stats

Already have my money on the Devils to come flying home this season. Steve Bryant, 10 tons and 3 wins, wow ! Not much went wrong for the Devils with Ken dropping the one match to Wesley. Don’t worry Kenny, I’m sure the team won’t mention it.

Arrows 8 v Wanderers 7 – Match Stats

So so close Wanderers very well played. Banz and Edgar held their nerve at the death to take out the match that was poised to be one of the upsets of the season. A high quality match with Edgar for the Arrows pegging 110 and Mick for the Wanderers with a 103.

BNSCD Season 2015 – Round 33

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Scorpions 11 v Ex Pats 10 – Match Stats

The Ex Pats led early 3-1 and then 5-4 but it was the Hills that turned the game in the Scorpion’s favour and they managed to hang on to their one point lead for another 11-10 win. Dave pegged 100 and Brian 14 tons. For the Ex Pats Scott pegged 123 and Tristan won all 4 matches with 11 tons.

Javelins 15 v Panthers 6 – Match Stats

A clinical Javelins stopped the Panthers streak with one of their biggest wins of the season. Keith Farr hit a 180, as did Luch who hit his first in competition and in true dart-player style then went on to lose (good darts Luch). Gabe ran hot again with 13 tons, a 180 and two 16 dart legs.

Dragons 21 v Two Darts 0

Forfeit to the Dragons unfortunately

Imports 11 v Vipers 10 – Match Stats

A very competitive match with the Imports leading 2-1 after the doubles and from there the singles went 3 for 3 all the way. John and Nev Snr won all their matches with Nev hitting a 180 and Shane a 116 peg. For the Vipers Bilbo hit 11 tons and 3 wins with Pas pegging 110 in an 18 dart leg.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Arrows 8 v Jockys 7 – Match Stats

Top of the table clash and a finals preview all rolled into one. And what a game it was, with the Arrows winning on the last dart of the night 8-7.  Usually the Jockys are  slow starters in the doubles and then stage a comeback in the singles. but not tonight after leading the doubles 3-0 and then conceding four games in each singles round. The Arrows top order in Dave Chaddock, Dom Babylon, Edgar Lapurga and Banz Bansey got the job done with wins in both single rounds. Dom and Edgar also scored well with 5 tons apiece. For the Jockys Ian Newton  with 6 tons and two wins was the standout. Special mention to Jockys captain Patrick Wilson with a 114 peg, his first high score peg in some time. He also did well in the last game of the night taking Edgar to a third leg and nearly snatching the win, but class (and not arse) spoke in the end. The Arrows showed they’ll be hard to beat in the finals.

Tri-Hards 10 v Wanderers 5 – Match Stats

Tri-Hards down to 5 might have looked ripe for the picking but Marty had other ideas. Winning the doubles on his own then another 2 wins with 9 tons to help set up an important win for the Tri-Hards. Banger also had a solid night with 4 tons and 2 wins.

Devils 12 v Slashers2 3 – Match Stats

The Devils odds are shortening on Sportsbet after a commanding performance against the Slashers2. Nessie, Steve and Justin all won 3 games with the team hitting 26 tons. From the book it looks like Ash hit a 140 peg, awesome. Tough night for the Slashers2 without Rob but Rean did well with 2 wins.

Slashers1 13 v Bulls 2 – Match Stats

Not much went wrong for the Slashers1, well maybe one thing butt jokes aside. Stand out performance from Corey with 9 tons and along with Nicky, Alex and Liam scored 3 wins. Quiet night from the Bulls, even from Renita I am told (now you know I’m joking).

BNSCD Season 2015 – Round 32

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Scorpions 11 v Imports 10 – Match Stats

A very entertaining match saw the lead change several times with the Scorpions probably liking their chances with the score at 9-6 coming into the final round of singles only for the Imports to rattle off the next 4 singles. With the game in the balance it was down to the two clowns of the Scorpions Scott and Grant to seal a very nervous and hard-earned victory. for the Scorpions Grant hit a 180 and John Hill a 103 peg. The Imports had Jamie hit a 180 and John Rankine throw the best game of the season with a 13 dart leg.

Ex Pats 15 v Motley Crew 6 – Match Stats

The Ex Pats were in a clinical mood in the last of their local derbies. Tristan and Stewy won 4 games a piece with Stewy hitting a 113 finish and Scott 116. For the MC they clearly missed Aaron but Richard still managed a 15 dart leg in their to inspire his team.

Panthers 11 v Dragons 10 – Match Stats

You can’t really call it an upset with the way the Panthers are throwing. Gabe once again was untouchable winning all his matches and hitting 10 tons. For the Dragons both Arthur and Greg hit 180’s

Two Darts 14 v Vipers 7 – Match Stats

The game started with a blitz from Jamil and Glen with a 14 darts starting leg. When Jack beat Pat the score was 2-2 but that was as close as the Vipers got. They did manage however to out score Two Darts 44-43 on tons. Alex was graceful and untouchable with 4 wins and for the home side Pas was on fire banging in 14 tons and two wins.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Arrows 8 v Slashers2 7 – Match Stats

A very close encounter here closed out by captain Dave. Lyn set the scene for the Arrows, hitting a 140 early and was really peppering the triple 20 as she carried Banz in the doubles. Edgar won all 3 games again and for the Slashers it was Rob with 3 wins and 3 circles.  The Slashers2 really need an upset now to make the finals but this Wednesday’s match against the Devils promises to be a cracker.

Jockys 8 v Tri-Hards 7 – Match Stats

An excellent and close game of darts for two teams featuring in the upcoming finals with the Jockys prevailing 8-7. A welcome back too for Pete Wilson from knee replacement surgery and a long lay off. It was the night of the big guns for both teams with Ben Hughes and Marty Tuohy both getting three circles. Surprisingly only one ton to Ben but Marty compensated with five tons of his own. Archie, Bangers and Thommo also had good supporting roles with two games apiece

Devils 9 v Slashers1 6 – Match Stats

Some great darts thrown at Albany Links and perhaps one of the B grade games of the season with 50 tons thrown. A seesawing game with the lead changing several times saw the match poised at 7-6 until Steve and Justin closed out the last two singles. Col won all 3 of his games with Steve hitting 8 tons and Ash 6. For the Slashers1 it was Nicky who was on fire with 8 tons and a 19 dart game.

Bulls 8 v Wanderers 7 – Match Stats

The Bulls surged to a 6-3 but were all too wary of the fast finishing Wanderers. In the end they snuck home on the back of some experienced darts from Renita who won all 3 games. For the Wanderers Snow, Bryan and Dave won 2 a piece.

BNSCD Season 2015 – Round 31

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Scorpions 16 v Javelins 5 – Match Stats

Scorpion clinical against the Javelins. John, Grant and Scott with 4 wins with Grant and Scott hitting 13 tons a price. Bryan for the Javelins hit 11 tons and two circles.

Panthers 15 v Imports 6 – Match Stats

Panthers really hitting some form now ripping through the Imports. Gabe and Max with 4 wins a piece and 19 tons between them. Jamie with 3 wins held the Imports ship together.

Dragons 11 v Ex Pats 10 – Match Stats

A five man Ex Pats outfit almost pulled off an unlikely victory against the Dragons. A solid all round team performance by the Dragons with Greg starring with 14 tons. For the Ex Pats Mick Ward was back to his best with 12 tons and 2 singles but Stewy was the destroyer with 11 tons and 4 wins.

Vipers 11 v Motley Crew 10 – Match Stats

Vipers made it two on the trot in a very enjoyable evening of darts. For the Vipers it was Glen who went unbeaten on the night. Aaron for the MC once again won all his singles, hit a 180 and pegged 102. Graham also continued his strong perfomances against the Vipers with 2 wins and a 100 peg.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Slashers2 9 v Wanderers 6 – Match Stats

Slashers2 kept their finals push going with captain Rob leading from the front with 7 tons but was outfoxed by Snow in the final singles who won all his matches on the night. We wish his wife Elaine all the best as she recovers from surgery.

Tri-Hards 8 v Slashers1 7 – Match Stats

The Tri-Hards without Marty really needed to lift and they did. Banger and Chris with 4 tons and 3 circles each led the way as they came from behind to win. Solid night for Corey with 5 tons and 3 wins.

Jockys 13 v Bulls – Match Stats

Tough night at the office for the Bulls as the Jockys went crazy. Ben with 8 tons led the way but not much went wrong for them with Glenn and Craig taking 1 win a piece.

Devils 8 v Arrows 7 – Match Stats

The Devils led by one early and that’s the way it stayed to keep them firmly entrenched in 4th spot. Justin with a 180 and 3 wins while Edgar hit his 4th maximum of the season.

BNSCD Season 2015 – Round 30

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Motley Crew 15 v Javelins 6 – Match Stats

Motley Crew powered to victory with a solid all round team performance. John won all his singles as did Aaron and it’s been quite a while since he has a lost one too. For the Javelins Keith Dodds led from the front with 7 tons and 2 wins.

Two Darts 18 v Ex Pats 3 – Match Stats

A full Two Darts line-up showed what they are capable as they ripped through the in-form Ex Pats. Hard to highlight anyone as a stand out performer but a nice 143 peg from Blags. For the Ex Pats Ian missed a few 180 chances as he smashed 9 tons.

Dragons 12 v Imports 9 – Match Stats

The Dragons confirmed their finals spot while making it mathematically very difficult for the Imports to feature in the top 4. Ben continued his stellar form with 4 wins and Ciaran got his mojo back with 9 tons and a 112 peg. The Imports welcomed back John Rankine after a few weeks away for work and certainly no cobwebs there as John hit 10 tons, a 16 darts game and 4 wins to back it up.

Vipers 11 v Panthers 10 – Match Stats

After going behind 2-1 the Vipers fought back to 5-4 and maintained that 1 point margin at the end with Pas sealing victory with his 4th win of the night. For the Panthers, Max won all his games but Tamm saved the best to last. Getting frustrated on the 20’s she went downstairs and we are very happy she did with a 95-93-95-133-95 peg to finish in 15 darts, definitely the highlight of the night (well almost).

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Slashers2 9 v Bulls 6 – Match Stats

Just what the doctor ordered for Slashers2 as they close to within one win of the top 4. Rob led from the front with 5 tons and was undefeated for the night as was Michael. For the Bulls Craig once again won his 2 singles matches without dropping a leg and Denise and Scotty also won both of their singles.

Arrows 8 v Tri-Hards 7 – Match Stats

The local derby is always entertaining and this was no let down. Edgar celebrated his birthday early with his 4th maximum of the year to set-up a 3-0 lead to the Arrows. The Tri-hards fought back but with the game in the balance the ever reliable Dom hit the winning double to seal victory for the Arrows and likely cemented 2nd spot on the ladder. That man Edgar won all his matches while for the Tri-Hards Marty didn’t drop a leg in his singles and his 7 tons took him over the 100 mark for the season as he looms menacingly behind Steve Bryant.

Jockys 11 v Devils 4 – Match Stats

The Devils position mid-table with a 14-13 for and against record coming into this match is somewhat misleading, considering some of the talent in the team. And so it was that when they led the Jockys 2 zip after the first two doubles games. That then became 3-1 early in the singles and there was whiff in the air that there was an upset on the cards (or maybe that was just Brewster). However, the Jockys then showed why they are top of the table overpowering the Devils to win 11-4 in a dominant display. Josh Allen had a three circle night in a welcome return to form. Strong displays also from Ian Newton, Ben Hughes, Derek Smart and Marshall Thompson. For the Devils, Justin King had a strong game with 5 tons and two wins.

Slashers1 14 v Wanderers 1 – Match Stats

Some nights everything goes right for you and it was one of those nights for the Slashers1 who recorded their biggest win of the season to keep their finals hopes alive. Corey pegged 100 and Shaun hit a 180  and ironically was the only person to drop a game but I am sure he didn’t care too much. For the Wanderers there wasn’t their standard late comeback but I’m certain they will bounce back this week.

BNSDC Season 2015 – Round 28

A GRADE – Full Ladder

Imports 11 v Javelins 10 – Match Stats

A see-sawing match saw the Javelins go into the final round of singles leading 8-7 but it was a case of youth over experience as an Imports line-up less John Rankine got home by James and Ashley winning the last 2 singles. The score line typifies the close of the game with only 3 match-ups over in 2 legs..

Two Darts 13 v Motley Crew 8 – Match Stats

Two Darts were back to their traditional 5 man line-up which included new player Ray Smith. It’s great to see players of Ray’s calibre join the comp and along with his 21 tons it looks as though he was playing “Low Game Bingo” with check outs in 14, 15, 16 and 17 darts respectively. Alex and Greg were also firing on all cylinders with 4 wins from 4 whilst for the MC it was Aaron once again who won all 3 singles.

Dragons 13 v Vipers 8 – Match Stats

Dragons solidified their top 4 spot with a comfortable win over the Vipers. Ciaran won all his matches as did captain Ben Lothian. For the Vipers Jamil led the way with 12 tons and two wins.

Scorpions 16 v Panthers 5 – Match Stats

Scorpions reminded us all why they are top of the ladder with an empatic over the in-form Panthers. Scotty smacked out 13 tons, 4 circles, a 180, a 110 peg and a 17 dart leg with young Dave Hill also featuring with another 180. For the Panthers it was Tamm who led from the front with 2 wins with Gabe increasing his 180 tally for the season to 4.

B GRADE – Full Ladder

Slashers1 8 v Arrows 7 – Match Stats

Edge of the seat stuff at Albany Links with one team never leading by more than 1 at any stage it was left to the experienced Graham Parish to seal victory. A win which keeps the Slashers1 outift in touch with the top 4 and finals berth in their maiden season. Corey once again leading the charge with 8 tons and 3 wins but Nicky’s 117 peg was equally impressive. For the Arrows Edgar and Leo won all their matches but with Tri-Hards also winning their slender lead over them has been reduced to 2 competition points.

Tri-Hards 10 v Bulls 5 – Match Stats

With the end of the 3rd round approaching the Tri-Hards needed a win to keep the pressure on the Arrows and that they did. Archie won all his matches whilst Marty and Banger hit the tons with 5 and 4 respectively. For the Bulls it was Craig once again leading the charged with 3 tons and 3 wins.

Devils 10 v Wanderers 5 – Match Stats

Another red hot Devils as they swept to a 4-0 lead and were never going to lose from there. Steve, Ash and Dave all collected 3 wins for the night. For the Wanderers it’s obvious that some rep darts did Carol’s game alot of good as she won both her singles.

Jockys 9 v Slashers2 6 – Match Stats

A bit of a slow start from the Jockys as they went behind 3-1 early before they got the whip out. Some quality match ups here especially Ben Hughes vs Rob Funnell playing some very good darts. A return to the winner’s dais for Jockys captain Patrick Wilson with a win in the last leg of the singles. Three circle night to Marshall Thompson which crowned a 9-6 win to the Jockys. For the Slashers Rob and Rean hit 5 and 4 tons respectively and 2 wins along with Pat Smith. The loss however gives the Devils a 4 point buffer over the Slashers coming in to the last week of the third round.
