Premier League Round 14 Full Ladder

We’re On 13 vs Stray Darters 7 Match Stats

Neither team really at their best but the champs took their opportunities better and ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Aaron (6 140s and a 180) took 6 from 6 and hit a 105 peg while Justin won 4 and hit two 180s.  Dave (3 140s) and Ciaran (17 darter) were top Strays with three wins apiece but Drew threw well going to the decider in each of his singles and hitting a 180 and a 17 darter.

Scorpions 10 Vs Dragoffs 10 Match Stats

The Scorpions involved in another cracker, this time during the all Chermside clash with the Dragoffs.  Eleven of the twenty games went to a deciding leg so a draw was probably the fairest result.

Rod in top form with 4 wins, 2 140s and a 171 with Alex winning three and hitting 2 140s and a 180.

For the Scorps it was all about the return of Scotty who could do no wrong picking up a perfect 6 wins and hitting two 140s.  Pat also going well with 4 wins, 4 140s and a 180 and a mention also to Bob for his 3 140s, 2 180s and 112 peg.

Red Scorpions 6 Vs Peeping Toms 14 Match Stats

A must win game for the Toms and they delivered with a solid 14-6 win over a constantly improving Red Scorpions side.

Sam leading the line honours this week with 6 from 6 and 2 140s and Ross not far behind with 5 wins and 5 140s.

For Reds Glen once again showed a flash of brilliance with a 158 peg and a 15 darter.   Willy leading the side well as always with three singles wins from 3, while Steve hit a very tidy 112

Raptors 9 Vs Aha Gotcha 11 Match Stats

The three Raptors gave it a huge go in the Wantima local derby and were only held at bay by a massive performance by someone making their Aha Gotcha debut… But first, those Raptors

Corey: 3 singles wins, 5 140s and a 180
Dinga: 3 singles wins, 3 140s and a 180
Liam: 3 singles wins, and 3 140s

The only singles games they lost were against a truly elite level performance by The Mean Machine: two doubles wins….four singles wins…two 180s….four 140s…high pegs of 120 & 140 and low games of 15, 17, 18 & 18 darts.  It’s not often we see a triple-double of 2+ maximums, 2+ high pegs and 2+ low games but this was one of those rare occasions.

Dragons 6 Vs Pinoy Darters 15 Match Stats

It’s a testament to the strength of this season’s A Grade that a team as strong as Pinoy Darters is outside the top 4 with 3 weeks to go.  It’s going to be an exciting run in to the finals!

Connor won three times for Dragons and hit 4 tons with mark winning twice and hitting a team high five tons plus a 140.  Super finishing from Cathy taking out 68 on the bullseye.

Two Pinoys went four from four.  We’re used to seeing Mel (8 tons, 3 140s and a 14 darter) go undefeated but it’s great to see Leo getting back to his best as well.  Roger again irrepressible with 3 singles wins and 13 tons and Edgar also winning three times and hitting 10 tons, one of which was a 129 checkout.

Nek Minit 11 Vs Devils 10 Match Stats

This crazy encounter saw the lead change multiple times and could not have been closer going into the final round of singles: Devils were 8-7 up and 10-8 down before getting it back to 10-all only to lose it in the final game of the night.

The wins were spread around pretty evenly with three time winners being Shaun (6 tons and a 102 peg) and Daz (2 tons) for NM and Steve (6 tons and a 122 peg) and Gary (a mammoth 14 tons) for Devils.

Nemesis 11 Vs Wildcats 10  Match Stats

The Cats continue to do everything but win as they take another heartbreaking loss, this time at the hands of the Nemeses, 11 games to 10.  After taking the doubles 2-1 each round of singles ebbed and flowed but ended 3-all.  In the end Nemesis got over the line 11 games to 8 before the Cats picked up the last two circles.

Dave once again leading from the front with four wins and ton plus scores of 120 and 140 with Mark also undefeated from 4 games hitting a fixture-best 4 tons as well.

Big performances from Vikki, Ness and Shaz on the night.  Vikki (3 tons) won 4 from 4, Ness (3 tons) won all three of her singles and Shaz (1 ton) won two singles from three.

B GRADE Round Finals Week 1 Full Ladder

Jockys Vs Mitchelton Mustangs

First placed Jockeys faced off against the Mustangs this week for their chance to hold their number 1 spot through this season. Mustangs took the lead early with both Graham and Richard taking the win in their doubles and singles matches respectively. While Gary and Clive took the Jockeys only doubles win, the rest of the lads brought it home strong in the singles rounds taking the win of the night with 8 to 5. Special mention to Gary from the Jockeys taking both his doubles, and both single matches on the night, as well as Richard from the Mustangs.

Tossers Vs ALGC

Second place Tossers versus third place ALGC on the ladder was always going to be a tough match.

Tossers took the early lead winning 2 of their doubles, with Father and Son team Rupen and Yash taking the only doubles match for ALGC. First round of singles was hard fought, with both the Tossers and ALGC evenly winning 3 matches in that round. The fight went down to the very last games in the second round of singles, with Daniel securing the win that would have the Tossers reach 8 wins versus 5, and the overall win for the night.

Great performance on the night from Kiana who took not only her doubles win, but also her 2 matches of the singles, helping the Tossers to secure their victory.

Premier League Round 13 Full Ladder

Stray Darters 18 vs Aha Gotcha 2 Match Stats

Every win is crucial at this stage in the season and the Strays picked up another one with a dominant performance against Aha Gotcha at Chermside.

Gabe picked up the two singles wins and hit two 140s while Sean fired in a maximum.

Three Strays went the night undefeated with 5 wins from 5. Dave (4 140s, a 180 and low games of 18 & 14 darts), Jack (3 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter) and Ciaran.

Scorpions 10 Vs We’re On 10 Match Stats

This was the Premier League top of the table clash and the two best teams in the comp so far gave everything in a bid to get the two points.

It was one-all after the doubles and then three all after the first round of singles. Three all became five all before Scorpions won five out of the next six games to open up a 10-6 lead with four to play. John and Justin kept the tie alive and then, with both doubles games going to a deciding leg, We’re On completed the comeback to grab a share of the spoils.

It was largely a tale of two Scorpions with Pat (4 140s and a 180) winning five times and Bobby (3 140s and a 17 darter) four times. Glen hit the other of his team’s 180s.

WO’s MO is consistency and this was on display again tonight with each player winning 3 or 4 times. Leading the way was Aaron with 4 wins, 5 140s, 3 180s and a 17 darter. Three time winners were Pas who hit 5 140s, 3 180s and an 18 darter, Horse with 4 140s, and Justin who threw 3 140s.

Peeping Toms 7 Vs Dragoffs 13 Match Stats

The Peepers had the pleasure of playing host to a Dragoffs side featuring Pat Orreal and he certainly threw some high quality darts.  On the night he won all of his games, both doubles and singles, without dropping a leg and fired in 7 140s, a 180, low games of 14, 15 & 16 darts as well as two ton plus finishes of 101 and 114.  Brilliant stuff.  Next on the honours board was Rowey who bagged two singles wins to go with his doubles wins in partnership with Pat.  Rod  won three times and hit 4 140s, a 16 darter and a 110 checkout.

Ross (4 140s, 116 peg) and Sam (17 darter) put a real fight with 4 and 3 wins respectively.

Raptors 12 vs Imports 8 Match Stats

Massive effort from Raptors, who played this match with only three players and got up 12 games to 8.

For the visitors Nev and Shane both won twice.  It’s worth mentioning all three Raptors.  Top of the list was Corey with 6 wins 3 140s and a 17 darter with Dinga not far behind on 5 wins with two 140s and a 180.  Finally Wayne won 3 crucial games and hit 3 140s.

This win, coupled with Peeping Toms defeat put Raptors level on 10 points, 2 points behind 4th place Dragoffs with 5 weeks to go.  If my maths is correct both We’re On and Scorpions have made the finals but the other two places are up for grabs.

A GRADE Round 14 Full Ladder

Pinoy Darters 8 vs Scorpions B 13 Match Stats

Two strong teams locked horns at Chermside but the Bs were just a bit too good for the men from the Philippines.

Bs Darryl (7 tons, 2 140s) and Hilly (6 tons) won 4 from 4 and the rest of the team added useful wins.  I’ll single out Grant for a mention for his 2 wins and 11 tons.

Mel once again shone with 4 wins and 10 tons with Roger (8 tons, 2 140s) and Bob (2 tons, a 140) winning twice.

Devils 10 Vs Gremlins 11 Match Stats

A classic encounter at The Brook which was in the balance until the final double was pinned.  Devils were 9-6 down going into the final singles but 4 wins but them on the brink of a memorable comeback victory.  Gremlins Richard (9 tons, 2 140s) and Matt (9 tons) had other ideas winning the last two games of singles.  Both men finished the night unbeaten with four wins from 4.

Ash (who hit a 180, a 140 and a 133) and Steve were in great form for the hosts and each won all four of their games.  Steve especially impressive by picking up the trifecta with a 180, 17 dart game and 118 peg which is a great effort in only four games.  Gary also hit a 99 peg during his two singles victories.

Javelins 13 Vs Nemesis 8 Match Stats

A solid win for the Javs who got ahead in the doubles and never really looked back.  Unbeaten with three from three were Peter (3 tons, a 140) and Bryan (3 tons) with Tony winning all of his singles on the back of some power scoring on the 19’s including one maximum of 171.

Mark continues to shine for Nemesis with 4 wins from 4 and 8 tons including a 140.  Dave (2 tons and a 156) and Ben (3 tons) both won twice.

Wildcats 8 vs Dragons 13 Match Stats

Wildcats were undone by a good team performance from the Dragons who had three players who won all three of their singles games.  They were Cathy (1 ton), Gav (4 tons and 2 140s) and Benny (2 tons) who was the only unbeaten Dragon as he also won his doubles game with Paula.

Tomcat Ivesy hit 12 tons and won all four of his games with Shaz (6 tons and a 160) and Nikki (2 tons) both winning twice.

B GRADE Round 14 Full Ladder

ALGC2 5 vs Mitchelton Mustangs 10 Match Stats

The Mustangs cantered into the finals with a comfortable win over the five Links.  (I regret using the “missing Links” joke last week now but what can you do…?)

Dirk (1 ton) picked up two wins and everyone else one with Pieter hitting three tons.  For MM Lindsey (1 ton) won three from three with a troop of others winning twice.  Richard hit 4 tons and a 140 in his two wins and Graham 4 tons in his.

Jockys 9 vs ALGC 6 Match Stats

Jockys sealed the minor premiership with a comeback win against the five of ALGC having been 5-4 down with the last round of singles to play.  Four Jocks won twice with Ian (3 tons, a 140) and Derek (1 ton) getting a mention for picking up their circles with two singles victories each.

Yash the standout for ALGC with three wins and 4 tons with Nicky reliable as ever with two wins, 5 tons and 2 140s.  Despite this loss ALGC finish on third place in the league and qualify for the finals.

Cannons 9 Vs Wanderers 6  Match Stats

Agony at Chermside for the Cannons who finished on the same number of league points as both Mustangs and ALGC but ended up in 5th place on the ladder on leg difference.

Gary (4 tons) won three times and Jason, who raised the roof with a 130 peg, won twice.  Dave (2 tons) and Snow (1 ton) both won twice for the Wanderers.

Premier League Round 12 Full Ladder

Scorpions 16 vs Raptors 4 Match Stats

Raptors were unable to take a second consecutive top 3 scalp against the Scorpions.

Corey hit three 140s and Dinga one 140 each winning two of their singles games.  All four Scorpions went well with Pat the pick thanks to 6 wins and 3 140s.  Five wins each for Brian (5 140s, 112 checkout and a 16darter) and BA (4 140s and a 16 darter) and four for Glen (4 140s and an 18darter).

Stray Darters 11 Vs Red Scorpions 9 Match Stats

A real cracker at Chermside with the Reds powering to a 9-5 lead only to see the Strays win 6 on the spin to grab the 2 league points.  There was plenty of good darts on display with three 180s, a 174, two low games and two high pegs fired in.

Reds Glen (1 140 and 2 180s) and newly crowned Premier League singles champ Stephen (4 140s) won three each.  Michael fired in a 174 in reply to Banz’s opening visit of 180 in their singles game’s deciding leg – great stuff!

Frosty, making his Strays debut, won 5 from 5, hit 18 & 16 dart legs and threw 5 140s.  Of the rest Dave (5 140s) and Banz (a 140, a 180 and a 104 peg) won three times and Ciaran (a 140 and a 102 peg) twice.

Aha Gotcha 2 Vs We’re On 18 Match Stats

There wasn’t much AG could do against a classic WO team performance.  Sean (3 140s and a 108 peg) and Gabe (a 140) picked up the home side’s two victories.

The reigning champs really set the bar when it comes to consistency.  Week in week out they put in excellent team performances and this one was no different.  Horse was unbeaten and hit the trifecta with a 180, an 18 dart leg and a 114 peg.  Only 140s separating Justin (4) and Aaron (1) with both men winning 6 times, hitting a maximum and throwing a 15 darter.  Paz won four times and threw a 17 darter.  Each player chalking up a sub-18 dart leg is not something that happens every week – great darts.

Dragoffs 14 vs Import 6 Match Stats

It’s been an uneven season for Dragoffs but it’s a testament to their quality and fighting spirit that they are pulling themselves into finals contention at the sharp end of the year.  Imports certainly got them on a good day with maximums, ton plus finishes and low games peppering the home team’s side of the scoresheet.

Best value Import was Shane with two singles wins and two doubles win in partnership with Jamie.  Nev also won twice and hit a 180.

A really good night for Carlos with five wins, five 140s, two 180s, a 111 peg and an 18 darter.  Rod (13 darter, 100 peg, two 140s and a 180) and Alex (five 140s, two 180s, an 18 darter) won 4 times.  Nothing wrong with Blags’ performance either as he hit three 140s, a 180 and an even 100 checkout.

Scorpions B 15 Vs Gremlins 6 Match Stats

Gremlins were chasing a win to keep them pushing for a finals spot but they came up against a Bs side who weren’t giving anything away.  The home team were solid from 1 to 6 with everyone grabbing at least a couple of wins.  I’ll pick out Tristan (7 tons) and Grant (6 tons) for mentions as they won their three games in the singles rounds.

A good effort from Richard with a whopping 12 tons in his two wins and Matt also won twice hitting 8 tons along the way.

Pinoy Darters 10 Vs Javelins 11 Match Stats

This game had everything; a mountain of big scores, a couple of ton plus finishes and, most impressively, legs finished in the 15 to 20 dart range.

The result was in the balance right down to the last couple of games of singles but, in the end, you could look back to the doubles round to find the foundation of the Javs victory.  The usual classy performance from two of the better throwers in A Grade Mel and Roger.  Mel (4 wins) hit 8 tons, 3 140’s, a 114 checkout and a 15 darter with Roger (3 singles wins from 3) hitting 11 tons, 2 140s, a 180 and a 17 darter.  A really good effort from The Dominator with two singles wins, three tons, two 140’s and a 20 darter.

Lots of people chipping in at vital times in this victory but none better than Peter (6 tons) and Bryan (7 tons and a 108 finish) who each went undefeated with 4 wins apiece.

Widcats 4 Vs Nek Minit 17 Match Stats

Nek Minit kept themselves in second place in the ladder with a 17-4 win over the Wildcats at The Brook.  Wildcat Shaz going well with two singles wins, 3 tons and a 140 with the other circles going to Vickii (2 tons) and Kelly (1 ton).

For the visitors Ngawai (2 tons), Adam (5 tons and a 95 peg), Shaun (4 tons) and Mark (4 tons and a 140) went unbeaten with four wins from four.

Devils 12 vs Dragons 9 Match Stats

Both teams needed the points from this one, the Dragons to push themselves into finals contention and the Devils to keep themselves in the third.  The visitors grabbed a slender one game advantage during the first round of singles which they maintained with 6 to play.  But from there the Devils sprinted to the finish by picking up the last round 5 games to 1.

For the visitors it was a sterling effort by Craig, who picked up 3 wins and hit 3 tons.  Connor (7 tons and a 140), Mark (6 tons) and Cathy (1 ton) each won twice.  Strength in depth was on display from the home team with Gary (6 tons, 2 140s), Christian (8 tons), Ash (6 tons), and Rudi (5 tons).

B GRADE Round 13 Full Ladder

Mitchelton Mustangs 4 vs Jockys 11 Match Stats

It looks like going down to the wire in B Grade with 3 teams looking to fill the two remaining places with Jocky and Tossers scrapping over the minor premiership.

The Jockys are a quality lineup and when half the team goes undefeated you know they’re really firing.  Top Jock was Ben with a belting 132 checkout and 3 tons but Derek (three tons and a 140) and Pat (two tons and a 140) also did everything that was asked of them.

A thoroughbred performance from Graham who won both his singles, hitting seven tons and a maximum.  Also in the winners circle were Richard and Lindsey, who both hit 3 tons on the night.

ALGC 11 Vs Cannons 2 Match Stats

Six against four became five-a-side thanks to Nandi not only sportingly agreeing to have a throw for the visitors but picking up one of their circles.  Alan picked up the other win and hit 4 tons.

Three from three for Ben (4 tons), Rupen (3 tons) and Yash (1 ton) with Nicky firin in six tons, two 140’s and throw a 19 darter.

Wanderers 3 Vs Tossers 12 Match Stats

Tossers keep the pressure on at the top with a very good win against the Wanderers.  The three home team wins came from Dave (1 ton), Tim (1 ton) and Cristian (1 ton).  Four Tossers tasted nothing but sweet victory. With three wins each were Robert (4 tons), Patrick (one 140) and Daniel (1 ton), with Tracey having a one game cameo and hitting scores of 100 and 150 in the process.

Premier League Round 11 Full Ladder

Imports 1 s Scorpions 19 Match Stats

A strong Scorpions side overwhelmed the Imports with the loss of just one game.  Picking up the circle was Nev who hit x 140s and a 100 peg.  Shane added two 140s of his own.

Six from six from Pat (17 darter, 1 140 and a 180), Glen (1 140) and Brian, who had the best numbers of the night with 6 140s, 2 180s, an 18 and a 16 darter.

Raptors 13 Vs Stray Darters 7 Match Stats

A very good win for Raptors that keeps them in finals contention. The home team eased to a 5-1 lead and never looked back. Corey on song with 5 wins, 5 140s and 17 & 18 darters. Dinga also won 5 times and Kate hit a maximum in her 4 wins.

For the visitors Dave (5 140s, a 180 and 17 darter) and Banz (3 140s and an 18 darter) won three times with Kylie winning twice.

Aha Gotcha 7 Vs Peeping Toms 13 Match Stats

Things were deadlocked early on at 3-all but a clean sweep of the second round of singles was all the lead the Toms needed.  The winning margin pushed out to six when the visitors won the last two games of doubles.  Once again Ross leading from the front with 6 wins from 6 with good support from Tim who won 4 times.  For AG Gabe picked up 3 wins with Sean and Corey winning twice.

There was some excellent finishing on display as well.  Ross hitting a 156, Corey taking out 110 and Chris B doing a Keith Deller and hitting 138.

We’re On 18 vs Red Scorpions 2 Match Stats

The Reds are not the only team this season to be the nail to We’re On’s hammer despite winning the first game of doubles.  Bright spots for the visitors were wins from Stephen who hit a 17 darter, and the doubles pair of Willy and Glen.

Undefeated on the night were Aaron (3 140s and a 120 peg) and Pas (5 140s) while Justin threw a 17 darter.

A GRADE Round 12 Full Ladder

Javelins 9 vs Scorpions B 12 Match Stats

The Bs are loving life at the top of the table and this was an important win to keep them on track for the minor premiership.  The Javs are always competitive and this was the case here as they kept things close until the second round of singles.  The Bs won it 4-2 and opened what proved to be the decisive lead.

Bryan won 3 times and hit 3 tons with Luch (4 tons and a maximum) and Peter (9 tons) winning two apiece.  Killer Bs were four time winners Grant (8 tons) and Joe (5 tons) with Hilly knocking in a 180.

Pinoy Darters 19 Vs Nek Minit 2 Match Stats

Nek Minit are flying high but the men from the Filipino flingers are starting to move up the table thanks to a really strong line up.  The wins for NM courtesy of Shaun (11 tons) & Blain (6 tons) in the doubles and Mark in the singles.

For the Pinoy boys undefeated were Mel (9 tons, 3 140s, a 180), Roger (12 tons, 4 140s and a 15 darter), and Bob (3 tons).

Devils 11 Vs Nemesis 10 Match Stats

The visitors took the doubles 2 games to one but the Devils powered back with the next 4 games of singles to take a one game lead that they maintained until the end.

Nemeses of note were three-time winners Daral (6 tons and a 92 peg) and Banga who hit a straight ton and a 180.  Alena had an 85 finish and Brendan hit 6 tons including 2 140s.  Devils of distinction with 4 wins from 4 were Steve (8 tons, a 140 and a 17 darter) and Gary (8 tons & 2 140s).  Christian won all 3 of his singles games hitting a 140, 7 tons and a 109 peg.

Dragons 4 Vs Gremlins 17 Match Stats

It would seem that the Gremlins were dining late this week as they mauled the Dragons 17-4.  The visitors won each of the 4 rounds and were good value for the win which keeps them in the hunt for finals action.  Four from four for Matt (10 tons) and Terry (2 tons) with a mention to Richard who won three times and hit 7 straight tons and 2 140s).

Two Dragons stood firm as Jamie (6 tons) and Connor (a lovely 130 peg and 8 other tons) both won two out of three in their singles.

Mitchelton Mustangs 5 vs Tossers 10 Match Stats

Tossers too strong for the Mustangs of Mitchy thanks in part to a flying 3-0 start in the doubles.  Three from three for Pat (6 tons), Robert (6 tons) and Alan (2 tons and a 140).  Top Tossers were  Lindsay (1 ton) and Richard (3 tons).

Jockys 11 vs Cannons 4 Match Stats

Jockys kept themselves up the top of the table with a comprehensive victory over the Cannons.  Standouts for the victors were Ian (8 tons and a 180) and Derek (4 tons and a 115 peg) who went unbeaten on the night.

A doubles win for Scotty & Neil plus consolation singles wins for Jason (2 tons), Alan (3 tons) and Gary (5 tons) featured on the visitors side of the ledger.

ALGC2  5 Vs Wanderes 10 Match Stats

The Wanderers too strong for the Links thanks to a good all round performance.  All of the visitors contributed at least one win with the pick being Snow with two wins from 2 and a pair of tons.  Lance (1 ton) and Dave also won both of their singles.

Two time winners for the home team were Pieter (5 tons) and Derrick (3 tons).  The other notable incident from this match who managed to bust 124 with a 180!

Premier League Round 10 Full Ladder

Peeping Toms 13 Vs Raptors 7 Match Stats
The three man team of Raptors fought gamely against the ever-improving Toms and actually won 7 of the 13 evenly contested games but the forfeits and one-man doubles losses were too much in the end.

Top Toms were Ross with 5 wins and a 102 peg and Sam, also with 5 wins and 2 140’s. It’s worth mentioning all of the Raptors on a difficult night. Three time winners were Corey, who hit 3 140’s and 2 maximums and Liam with 3 140’s a 180 and a 105 peg. Dinga picked up 2 wins from 4 games of singles.

Dragoffs 8 Vs We’re On 12 Match Stats
A pretty close encounter at Chermside with the reigning champs pulling ahead decisively in the second round of singles thanks to three deciding leg victories. Dragoffs kept themselves in the contest but were not quite able to close the gap but this is a performance that shows that they are not out of finals contention by any means.

For the home team Rod was flying with 4 wins & 4 140s while Alex added 3 circles, 3 140’s and a 16 darter. Chermside hosted this all Scorpion encounter with result going the way that the form guide had predicted. The home team were quickest out of the gate and surged to an 8-2 lead which was too much for the visitors. Notable Reds were Stephen with 3 win and a 180 with Glen (2 140’s) and Bruce (a 140 and a 100 peg) adding 2 wins each.

Nek Minit 5 Vs Dragons 16 Match Stats

A big win from Nek Minit all but seals their finals slot. Hard to pick an MVP after such a great team effort but the young dad, Blain Toto, was unstoppable with 4 wins and 4 tons but not so shabby from Mum with 6 tons and 3 wins (and a great 133 peg on Sunday). Craig from the Dragons the pick of the litter with 5 tons and 2 wins.

The Javelins leapfrogged the Devils into third place and took a big step towards the finals with a hard fought over the Devils. Pete was outstanding with 11 tons and 4 wins, Tony and Hugh also went undefeated for the night. For the Devils Steve and Gary won 2 each and hit 12 tons a piece with Gary snaring an 18 dart leg.

Scorpions “B” continue their charge for the minor premiership and they were relentless against the Wildcats. Daryl was back to his best with 9 tons and 3 wins but Wayne (2 tons, Tristan (7 tons) and Shaun (5 tons) led the way with 4 wins each. Vickii hit a 171 in her 5 tons and picked up 3 wins. with Shaz (2 tons) also picking up a win.

Gremlins jumped to a 9-2 lead and never looked like being caught. Richard was on fire with 12 tons, 4 wins and a 16 dart leg. For the Nemesis Ben was solid with 3 wins and 7 tons.

ALGC took a 3-0 lead after clean sweeping the doubles which swung back to the Mustangs 3-3, then 6-3 to ALGC before Mustangs pegged back 2 games before Nicky sealed the match to top off a good night with 3 wins and 3 tons. Yash (1 ton) also won 3 matches. For the Mustangs Richard won 2 matches with Peter Speare pegging 93.

Tossers 8 Vs Jockys 7 Match Stats

The Tossers let everyone know they are real title contenders with Alan holding his nerve to complete a gutsy team effort to down the high flying Jockys. Robert led the charge with 3 wins, 5 tons and a 111 peg with Pat also deadly as with 11 tons and 2 wins. Ian the stand out with 7 tons and 3 wins for the visitors.

ALGC2  7 Vs Cannons 8 Match Stats

In the absolute definition of a see-sawing game Alan and Dave won the last 2 singles to bring home the bacon for the Cannons. For the Cannons Jason and Allan won all 3 games and hit 2 tons each. Dirk (4 tons), Maggie (2 tons) and Derek (3  tons) won two each for ALGC2.

Peeping Toms 11 Vs Imports 9 Match Stats

The Peepers continue to move up the table after securing a nail-biting win with the penultimate game of doubles.  At 5-1 up they were cruising but the Imports dragged it back to 6-4 at the half way stage but even so they couldn’t ever get the deficit under 2.

Standing strong again for PT were Ross (5 wins, 4 140s) and Sam (5 wins and a 114 peg) but Chris B and Tim also chipped in with vital singles wins.

Another tough night for Imports but Shane shining with 5 wins, including a clean sweep of his singles, and Frosty dependable as ever with 3 circles and 4 140s.

Dragoffs 16 Vs Raptors 4 Match Stats

The return of Carlos and a dominant Dragoffs win against Raptors who had Shayne making a return to BNSDC.

For the visitors it was pretty much all Corey who won a doubles game with Liam and three out of four in his singles.  He hit a 180 as well as 132 and 128 checkouts making it a very high quality performance.

Strong from 1 to 4 for the Dragoffs this week.  Five wins apiece for Alex (5 140s, 2 180s), Rod (1 140) and Carlos who produced the leg of the night with 154 peg for a 15 darter.  Blags rounded things off with 4 wins, a maximum and an 18 darter.

Stray Darters 5 Vs Scorpions 15 Match Stats

Both teams entered this tie on 12 competition points and 6 wins from 7.  This closeness was maintained early with the Scorpions holding a 5-4 lead which became 6-4 at the halfway stage thanks to BA knocking in a cracking 143 peg.  From there the visitors never looked back winning the second half of the contest 9-1.

Most of the bright spots for the Strays came from Ciaran who won 2 of his singles and collected a full set of Maximum, High Peg (110) and Low Game (15 darts).  One win each for Dave, Drew and Banz who hit 3 140s and a 127 peg.

This was one of those performances that showed exactly what the Scorps can do.  Brian (4 140s) had 5 wins while Glen (6 140s) and Pat (a 140 and a 180) won 4 times.  BA won three and hit that 143 I mentioned earlier, as did Bob who hit a maximum and had a very tidy 88 out on the bullseye.  A very impressive six low games for the side, all of them 18 darters, courtesy of Brian (2), Bob (2), Pat and Glen (1 each).

Dragons took out all the doubles and were never headed. Stars for the Dragons were Craig (6 tons) and Conor (4 tons) who won all 4 of their matches. For Nemesis, Banger (7 tons) and Daral (3 tons including a 174) won all their singles.

Wildcats 7 Vs Devils 14 Match Stats

The Devils scored heavily all night and although the Wildcats hit the two highest pegs (Vickii 84 & Nessie 73) the Old boys were just too good. Rudi (9 tons) and Gary (8 tons) won all their games with Steve banging in 11 tons. For the girls, Vickii won 3 and hit 3 tons, Gila pitched in with 2 and should have 3 wins and Nessie won the ton race with 5.

Scorpions B 16 Vs Nek Minit 5 Match Stats

Not the normal close game we see from these two teams. Hilly the star for the night with 9 tons and didn’t drop a leg. For Nek Minit, that man Shaun with 6 tons and 3 singles wins continues his push for MVP for A grade.

Gremlins led 5-4 but the game started to turn in the second round of singles and the Pinoys slugged out a deserving win.

New signing Roger had a cracking debut with 12 tons and 4 wins with Edgar also contributing with 4 tons and 4 wins also. Richard was at his best not dropping a leg and hitting a 180 in his 8 tons with Matt banging in 10 tons also.

Jockys 14 Vs Wanderers 1 Match Stats

The West Mitchelton local derby saw the top of the table Jockys dominate with tons shared across the board and Kerry filling in picked up 3 wins herself. Flying the flag for the Wanderers, no not Snow this time but Carol, a 2-0 thrashing over a nameless player who we will call Ian X.

Cannons 6 Vs Tossers 9 Match Stats

In the closest B grade derby the Cannons led 6-5 but the Tossers charged home to bag the last 4 games with Pat and Wayne sealing the deal.

Daniel (3 tons) and Tracey (2 tons) won all their matches whilst for the Cannons, Jason won 3 and hit 3 tons.

ALGC2  10 Vs ALGC1  3 Match Stats

This would have to be the friendliest local derby of the round with the lovely people from Albany Links playing each other. Well it was looking nice and friendly with the game in the balance at 5-3 before the number 1’s put the foot spurred on by Yash’s 180 to win all the last round of singles. Nine tons from Nicky also deserves a mention.

Imports 10 Vs Aha Gotcha 10 Match Stats

A draw is probably the right result for this fixture given that there was never more than a couple in it all night.
All Aha Gotcha’s players made important contributions with Gabe and Sean taking three wins each.  But with the match on the line at 9-7 down first Corey, then Rachel won their singles before combining to win the last doubles game of the night to force the draw.  Corey’s 4 wins and 4 140s were the best on the away side of the ledger.
A cracking performance from Frosty who won all 4 of his singles and both of his doubles with Nev, who had 4 wins on the night himself.  Six from six performances are not that common in the top grade so well played Jack, good darts mate.

Stray Darters 13 Vs Dragoffs 7 Match Stats

A Chermside local derby saw the Strays get up against the Dragoffs for the first time since the formation of Premier League.  After splitting the doubles the Strays reeled off 6 on the spin to talk a 7-1 lead which ended up being enough.
For Dragoffs Edgey, Blags and Alex all won 3 games each but Strays Dave, Ciaran and Drew won 4 apiece which proved to be the difference on the night.  Some good finishing on display with Edgey hitting a 108, Blags taking out 100 with two double tops and Dave 130 on the bull before wiring tops for a 160.  Maximums for Edgey, Ciaran and Alex and a 17 darter for Dave.

There aren’t many players who pick up four singles and a doubles win against the reigning champs but that’s what Ross did at Wantima, hitting six 140s on the way. Chris B had a hand in the doubles win and Tim hit three 140s.
We’re On’s success is built on having four strong players and they showed this once again.  Pas: 4 wins, 5 140s.  Aaron: 4 wins, 3 140s, a 180 and a 17 darter.  Kingy: 5 wins, 6 140s, an 18 darter.  Horse: 5 wins, 5 140s, a 117 peg and am 18 darter.  It’s a relentless lineup that are still setting the benchmark as the team to beat.

A tight round of games across A grade this week with only a few games between any of the fixtures.

Gremlins 12 Vs Dragons 9 Match Stats

A good win for Gremlins in a tight match that where the home team finally hit the front for good at then of the second round of singles.  Matt continued his good run of form with 4 from 4 with Terry and The Frenchman winning 3 each.
A strong showing from Craig and Ben who both won 3 times with Craig hitting 7 tons.

Nemesis 11 Vs Devils 10 Match Stats

Devils were down to 4 players for this one so they had to forfeit one game per round.  Despite this they were able to fight back from 7-2 down only to come up agonisingly short.

The three Devils worthy of a mention were Steve (4 wins, 8 tons), Ash (3 wins, a 180, 6 tons), and Rudi (3 wins, 7 tons).  Banga (5 tons) won 3 singles games from 3 and 3 other players won twice with the pick of those being Daral by virtue of hitting 5 tons.

The Bs got back to winning ways with a solid win over the 4th place Javs at West Mitchy.

Peter leading from the front with 3 wins and 8 tons and two wins each for Brian (6 tons), Hugh (6 tons) and Luch (1 ton).  Four Bs picked up 3 wins each: Grant (12 tons), Tristan (4 tons and a 123 peg), Mick (6 tons) and Hilly (3 tons).

Nek Minit powered to victory with a 5-1 final round of singles which blew the previously tight game wide open.

Blain (3 tons) won 4 from 4 and Mark (5 tons) picked up 3 wins as well.

Mel once again showed what he can do with 14 tons, 3 singles wins, an 18 darter and pegs of 117 and 147.  Edgar clearly enjoying his darts with 3 wins and 4 tons.

A heartbreaker at Albany Links where ALGC fought back from losing all 3 doubles games to get the game to 7-all only for Wanderers to snatch it at the death.

Nicky won both his singles and hit 5 tons, as did Yash who hit 3.  For ALGC Christian won 3 for 3 with Lance, Dave and Tim winning twice.

A good all round Mustangs performance with wins across the board.  Three from three for Richard (2 tons) and two wins each for Peter (2 tons), Ian, Lindsay (1 ton) and Graham (3 tons).

Dragoffs 9 Vs Red Scorpions 11 Match Stats

Red Scorpions provided an upset against a Dragoffs team missing a couple of players.  Rod (1 180) won 5 times with Blags (a 180 and a 17 darter) and Edgey picking up 3 wins each.  As well as picking up the win the Reds scored well, hitting 15 140’s and a 180.  The wins were spread around with Stephen, Bruce and Willy each taking home 3 circles.

This game was in the balance 8-6 to the Strays but they grabbed the next 3 singles to get to the 11 games needed for victory.  For the visitors it was Ross (5 wins, a 130 peg, 15 darter and 8 140s) and Sam (3 wins) who led the way while Tim hit a 180.  There were wins for all Strays notably Dave (4 wins and a 120 peg), Ciaran (3 wins, 5 140s, a 17 darter) and Drew (3 wins, 104 peg) with Kylie hitting a maximum.

We’re On keep rolling on with a 15 – 5 victory over Imports.  No Horse but Jamie R making his WO debut and slotting straight into the team with 4 wins, a 17 darter, 4 140s and a 106 checkout.  Also picking up 4 wins for the home team were Pas (3 140s), Aaron (5 140s) but it Justin leading the way with 5 wins, 5 140s and a 16 darter.  Frosty going well for Imports with 3 wins, a 124 peg and a 180 with Shane winning twice and hitting a 180.

Scorpions keep themselves second on the ladder and add to their already healthy leg difference with a thumping 16-4 victory at Wantima.

For AG it was Sean, reliable as ever with 3 wins and debutant Geoff (2 wins and a 180) who did the most with Rachel hitting a 108 peg.   It was a typical barnstorming showing from the visitors with none better than Brian (5 wins, 2 140s, 3 180s, and 16, 17 & 18 darters) although Pat hit the trifecta with a maximum, 100 checkout and a 16 darter.  Rounding out the 5 time winners was Glen (a 171) while BA’s 180 meant all four players on his team hit at least one.

Dragons 8 Vs Javelins 13 Match Stats

Javelins got ahead early and stayed ahead thanks to two 4-2 singles rounds in the middle of the contest.  A classic allround Javs performance with every player of their six picking up at least 2 wins.  Peter threw well with 3 wins and 8 tons, as did Hugh (4 tons) who won all 3 of his singles games.  The other 3 time winner was Max who hit 2 tons.

For Dragons Mick had a great night with 3 wins, 5 tons and a 180 with solid backup from Benny (2 wins, 5 tons) and Craig (2 wins, 3 tons).

Wildcats 5 Vs Pinoy Darters 16 Match Stats

When the Pinoy Darters fire up they they are a real handful and they proved too much for The Cats.  Sarah slotted in well on her debut with 3 wins and 6 tons with Kelly and Shaz picking up the other wins.  Every PD player went well with Mel (4 wins, 13 tons) and Edgar (4 wins, 11 tons) shining brightest with both men hitting 18 darters to boot.

Nek Minit took this one thanks in the main part to taking the first round of singles 5-1, establishing a 3 game lead they held till the end.  Mark (3 tons) went undefeated with 4 from 4 and Daz (6 tons) won all 3 of his singles.  Shaun certainly had his scoring boots on with 10 tons.

All the Nemesi contributed but mentions to Dave (3 wins, 4 tons), Mark (2 wins, 5 tons) and Banga (2 wins, 4 tons).

The A grade match of the round for sure at the Brook with the Devils coming back from 6-3 down by taking 8 of the next 10 games.  As well as the close scoreline this was a high quality encounter with a total of 66 tons fired in.  First mentions go to the Bs with 3 men picking up 3 wins on the night, Darryl (9 tons), Grant (5 tons) and Mick (5 tons).  Wins like these are generally built on a good team effort and this one was no different.  Ash (7 tons) leading the way with four from four, Steve (7 tons) with three singles wins and Christian (7 tons and a 180) with 2 vital singles wins.

Wanderers 6 Vs Cannons 8 Match Stats

It’s something of a match report cliché to say that a result hinged on the doubles round but once again this was the case at West Mitchy where Cannons went out to a 3-0 lead and held it until the end.  For Cannons Neil and Tom both won all three of their games and hit 3 tons apiece, with Neil picking up a tidy 93 peg.  Jason won twice and hit two tons.  The wins were spread amongst the Wanderers with Snow hitting 4 tons as well as picking up a circle.

Mustangs 9 Vs ALGC 2 (The Links) 6 Match Stats

This week we were informed at BNSDC Towers that the players of ALGC and ALGC 2 were completely swapping sides.  My original thought was that this would utilize the techniques made famous by The Faceless Men of Braavos but it appears that the reality is that they just all switched teams.  For Links Pieter (4 tons), grace (1 ton) and Shaun (1 ton) all won twice.  For the Mustangs Graham won 3 from 3 with 5 tons and of the other two time winners I’ll pick out Lindsay courtesy of picking up wins in the singles.

Jockys took The Great Player Swap in their stride winning this one 11 games to 4.  For ALGC there was a doubles win for Rupen and Yash, who hit a 171, plus singles wins for Nicky (4 tons and a 101 peg) and Nandi.  Undefeated Jockys were Patrick (1 ton), Derek (2 tons) and Kerry (1 ton).  Ian and Gary scored well with 6 and 5 tons respectively.

Red Scorpions 8 Vs Stray Darters 12 Match Stats

The Reds opened with a 18 dart 601 doubles leg from Willy and Stephen and took off to a 3-0 lead.  The Strays pegged it back to 6-all then used the momentum to push on to a 12-8 victory during the doubles games.

Ciaran (pegged 4 with double 1 double 1) and Banz both won 4 times.  Ciaran and Drew hit maximums.

Gremlins 4 Vs Scorpions 17 Match Stats

The Scorpion Bs continue to be a tough nut to crack and showed what they can do with a comprehensive win over a solid Gremlins team.  A great standard of darts on display as a total of 78 tons were thrown including two 180s and ten 140s.

The Gremlins battled hard, no-one more than Matt who hit 9 tones including two maximums and won 2 from 3 in the singles.  Richard fired in five 140s and six straight tons and picked up a win and Alex took out a 105 peg.

For the Bs Tristan (9 tons) and Hilly (9 tons) both went undefeated picking up 4 wins from 4.

Nek Minit 18 Vs Wildcats 3 Match Stats

Nek Minit tamed the Wildcats by a score of 18 to 3 at Chermside.

Plenty of notable performances for the home team but mentions to Shaun (3 wins from 3, 10 tons), Mark (4 from 4, 5 tons including a 180 and 2 140s) and Ngawai (3 from 3 and a 75 peg).

Hats off to Vickii of the Cats who won all three of her singles and scored five tons.  A great effort.

Dragons 8 Vs Devils 13  Match Stats

The Devils slayed the Dragons at Chermside thanks largely to the efforts of Rudi (4 tons), Ash (6 tons) and Gary (9 tons) who all won four from 4.

Cathy picked up 3 wins and hit a 180, Mark won 2 from 2 and Ben won twice and hit 9 tons including 3 140s and a 180.

The Javelins handed Pinoy Darters a defeat with a good all-round team performance.

Leading the way with three wins and five tons apiece were Peter, Gavin and Max while Bryan hit a 180.  A bit of a masterclass on the other side of the ledger from Mel who won 4 from 4, hit 12 tons including 100 and 105 pegs and hit 18 and 17 darters.  Joel also won twice while Edgar hit 7 tons.

Cannons 9 vs Tossers 6 Match Stats

A tidy win for the Cannons who overcame an early doubles deficit by winning four from six in each of the singles rounds.

For the victors Tom won all three of his games while Gary and Jason won two each.  Two wins each in defeat for Pat, Judy and Tracy.

An excellent 24 tons scored on the night as well with Jason (2 x 140, 2 x100) leading the way closely followed by Lyn, Alan & Tom who all hit three, and Pat, Judy and Tracy who hit two apiece.

Wanderers started brightly with two doubles wins before getting hit by the Jockys juggernaut.

The doubles pairings of Lance (4 tons) & Christian (2 tons) and Carol & Elyse picked up the Wanderers circles.

For the Jockys it was 3 from 3 for Pete (2 tons) and Derek (2 tons) while Gary picked up a nice 99 peg.

The Links grabbed the points and the bragging rights with a solid 10-5 win over ALGC thanks to unbeaten showings from Nicky (5 tons), Rupen (5 tons) and Ben.

Ekka Invitational Darts Classic Draw

Last Sunday the draw was made for both lives of the EKKA Invitational Darts Classic, Wednesday August 16th, to be hosted by BNSDC.  The links to the draw are provided below.

The competition will begin at 9:30am with four qualifying matches, indicated on the first life as 1,2,3 and 4. The winners of each of these matches will progress to the competition proper with Round 1 due to commence at 10am.

We anticipate that the second life will start at 1pm with the final and presentation occurring from 4 to 5pm. In order to give all players a minimum of two matches, the four losers of these qualifying matches automatically join the 2nd life as indicated as “Loser G1” etc. aligning the numbers etc. as indicated in the first life.

Should any players pull out of the competition the “qualifying match” players pulled out of the hat first will replace them. E.G. If a player pulls out Sean Gutzke will take their place in both lives and Martin Bansey advances to play Jamie Rundle in the first life, and coincidentally in the 2nd life also. If a second player pulls out Tony Blagden takes their place in both lives etc. There are some instances of players being drawn against the same player twice, this was just luck of the draw.

All matches are 501 best of 5 for Rounds 1, Rounds 2 and the Quarter Finals. The Semi-finals and Final of each life will be 501 best of 7. The winner of each life will play each other to decide the overall Classic winner. It is intended the format will be at least best of 7. If the same player wins both lives they will be automatically be deemed the overall winner with the runners-up of both lives playing each other to decide the overall runner-up.

We are however restricted by time with a band scheduled to start not long after our presentations at the Stockman’s Bar. This may mean for example in the second life the semi finals might be adjusted to best of 5. It’s hard to predict at this stage but we will do our best to get through the games and make it a great darting experience for all involved.

For the players involved you should have completed your online induction and paid your entry fee prior to Sunday August 13th. We will be purchasing the tickets in bulk and will advise in due course which gate you can collect your ticket from if for some reason we are unable to get it to you.

All players should be sending me a brief bio of their career achievements/highlights. I also encourage you to include your nickname and walk on song. We can hopefully get this set up for the quarter finals at the very least but I can’t promise anything just yet. All emails from players should be directed to [email protected]
