BNSDC – 2018 – Week 26

Premier League Season 2 Round 9 Full Ladder

Scorpions 16 vs Imports 4 Match Stats

This one started brightly enough as Imports held Scorpions 4-all before the onslaught began.  The Scorps have been one of the best teams of the last few years and when they get going they are capable of putting up some very good numbers.  For Imports Shane (1 140) and James (1 140) won a doubles together and a singles each with Jamil (1 140) picking up the other win.

Perfection for Glen with 6 from 6 including an 18 darter, 4 140s, a 180 and a 171, and five wins each for Brian (4 140s and a 126 peg) and BA (4 140s).  Glen (4 wins) showed some real quality hitting 4 scoring 140s, a 140 peg, 2 180s, 2 18 darters and a 17 darter

Raptors 7 vs Bears 13 Match Stats

The Bears have been building momentum all season and this run continued against a tidy Raptors side.

Four wins each for Azza (5 140s) and Horse (5 140s) with Pas (2 140s) winning 3.  Shaz won twice and hit a 101 peg.

This was a trademark Corey performance with 6 from 6, 5 140s and a 180 with Blades adding 3 wins and Brendan hitting a 180.

Motley Mustangs 4 vs Strays 16 Match Stats

This scoreline would have been much closer had Mustangs been able to convert some of the 8 games they lost in deciding legs but as it was Strays ran away with it.  They had to throw well to do so and as a team they hit 20 140s, a 180, 2 high pegs and 5 low games with Mustangs adding to the quality with maximums, high pegs and low games of their own.

Without a doubt the game of the match was between Dave and Steve.  In the first leg Dave pegged 120 for an 18 darter only for Steve to level it up with a 16 darter of his own.  Dave won the bull up and took the decider in 15 darts with a 116 checkout meaning the average for the 3 winning legs was a little over 92.  As well as those low games and ton plus finishes Dave – who won 5 times – hit 7 140s and a 180 and Steve 3 140s and a 180.

In terms of Mustang wins it was two each Willy and Mick, who had a full set with 2 40s, a 180, an even 100 peg and an 18 darter.

For Strays it was 6 from 6 for Banz (3 140s, 16 and 18 darters) with five wins for Ciaran, who hit 6 140s including three on the trot, and a 15 darter.  Frosty rounded things out with 4 wins and 4 140s.

Peeping Toms 13 vs Dragoffs 7 Match Stats

Another Wantima cracker with Toms marking themselves as genuine contenders.  After splitting the doubles the home team eased away and were not at any stage really threatened despite the visitors throwing some excellent darts.

All 4 Dragoffs contributed something to the team with Max leading the way with 4 wins, 4 140s and a 103 peg.  Next up were two time winners Richard (6 140s) and Daemon (4 140s and a 16 darter) while Matty hit a 17 darter as well.

Not for the first time the top Toms were five time winners Ross (5 140s, a 180, 15 dart & 18 dart legs) and Kingy (3 140s, a 180).  Sam continued his breakout season with 4 more wins which included 4 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter.

A GRADE Season 2 Round 5

Scorpions 17 V Tossers 4 Match Stats

Rampaging Scorpions ripped into the Tossers tonight taking all but 4 games. Great show of strength from the reining premiers from Season 1. Four wins for Joe (1xton), John (8 ton+s), Grant (7 ton+s and a 180, a 116 peg out) Stand out darts right there. Tristian with 4 wins (3 ton+). Shaun 3 wins (3xton and a 180).

For the Tossers 2 wins to Tony (3 ton+) Ben with 1 win and 7 ton+ scores, Pat with 1 win and 6 tons. 4 ton+s for Ash and Daniel as well. Hard to beat a team on fire but a great effort.

Javelins 10 V Pinoy Darters 11 Match Stats

The closest of wins here for Pinoy being pushed all the way by the Jav’s. Only 1 game in it leading into the final singles round. Both teams shared the games here with Pinoy just managing to hold on. For Pinoy, 4 wins for Roger (a 180, a 13 dart leg and 14 ton+ scores.. too good), 3 wins for Edgar (5 ton+), 2 wins for Dom (8 ton+), Sam chimed in with 5 x ton+ scores.

For the Jav’s, 3 wins for Hugh (2 ton+), 2 wins for Bryan (3 x ton), Peter (3 ton+), Luch (4 ton+), Tony (1 x ton+ and a 171). A very close match by the looks of it, good competition.

Seagulls 12 V Nek Minit 9 Match Stats

Another fairly tight match here with Seagulls holding a 9-6 lead into the final round of singles. Both team shared these giving the win to the Gulls. For Nek Minit, 4 wins for Shaun (a 180, and 8 other ton+), 3 wins for Hilton (7 ton+ and a fine 16 dart leg). A fine 108 peg out for Daz with 3 other ton+s. Ngawai was on fire with 6 ton+s while Mark was unlucky with 4 ton+ scores.

For the Seagulls, 4 wins for Christian (11 ton+), 3 wins for Steve (9 ton+), Dave (2 x ton+). 1 win each for Gary (6 ton+) and Rudi (4 ton+) and Anthony (1 x 100) were certainly in the hunt as well. A solid night of darts and by the looks of the result on paper it all came down to hitting doubles I bet!!!

Cannons 12 V Marvels 9 Match Stats

An understrength Marvels gallant in defeat to the Cannons. All came down to the final singles games with both teams sharing these. For the Cannons, 3 wins each for Tom (2 ton+), Mike (8 ton+s). 2 games each for Neil (2x ton), Alan (3 ton+) and Scott, Gary (2 ton+).

For the Marvels 3 wins for Neal (7 x ton+), Ben (4 x ton), Niki (2 x ton+). A tough ask when fighting with 5 players; a good effort all the same.

B GRADE Season 2 Week 8 Full Ladder

The Links 15 v Jockys 0  Match Stats

Unfortunately this mach was a forfeit

Misfits 9 v Mustangs 6 Match Stats

The two middle placed teams on the ladder faced off tonight with the win either increasing the gap between the ends of the ladder or putting both of these teams on a tie. There was some solid scoring performances on both sides – the Mustangs has Graham, Richo and Lindsay all with 3+ ton plus scores on the night, the Misfits – Leo with 4 straight tonnes and Mike with a solid 5! The night went the Misfits way though with a strong 9 v 6 finish with the Mustangs never far away from stealing the win.

Dragons 7 v Wanderers 8 Match Stats

Well this was a tight one and went down to the last matches in the last round. Good start by the Dragons with a quick doubles win and 4 timely singles wins to put them up 5 v 4 by the end of the second round. The Dragons almost had it in taking the first win of the third round but the Wanderers came home strong though, taking games 2-5 sealing the win for the night. Great game had by all.

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 25

Premier League Season 2 Round 8 Full Ladder

President’s Shield: Bears vs Strays Match Stats

As well as being a regular league fixture this one was chosen to be the Premier League President’s Shield pitting last season’s minor premiers against the team claimed the Grand Final.

It was the Bears who made the brightest start claiming both doubles and then pushing out to a 6-2 and 8-4 lead.  At this point Strays dug in and kept themselves in it by winning 4 of the next 6 to force Bears to win one of the last games of doubles or face a team game sudden death finish.  Horse and Azza were well up to the task claiming the President’s Shield for the Bears!  Congratulations Pas, Azza, Horse and Shaz on scooping the trophy.

Bears getting home with one of their trademark team efforts with Horse being the pick with 5 wins from 6, 5 140s and a 180.  Azza also continuing his recent decent form with 4 wins.  Pas with 3 wins and Shaz with 2 wins also making vital contributions.

For Strays it really was a two man show with Frosty taking 4 from 4 singles with 3 140s and a 180 and Dave winning 4 times as well with a 100 peg and an 18 darter to his name while Kylie fired in a 180.

Dragoffs 9 vs Raptors 11 Match Stats

This started of tight when, at 3-all, Raptors made a big move by taking 4 in a row and carrying this lead all the way to the brink of victory at 10-6 up.  When Dragoffs took the next two it put Raptors in a familiar position of having to win at least one of the doubles to take the points…..which they duly did at the first time of asking.

Two performances on the night stand head and shoulders above the rest – take a bow Max and Corey.  Max won 5 from 6 and threw 8 140s, 2 180s and a 13 dart leg which equals the best thrown in the comp this year, and Corey who also won 5 from 6, hit 6 140s, 4 180s and threw one 17 darter and two 18’s.  A big mention too to Blades who won 4 times and hit a huge 8 140s on the night.

Peeping Toms 7 vs Scorpions 13 Match Stats

This was a corker at Wantima with both teams throwing at a very a high standard.  Toms started well enough by taking both of the doubles and even going out to a 5-3 lead before the Scorpions went on a decisive run by taking 8 of the last 10 games of singles.  It’s worth mentioning that 7 of these last 10 games went to a deciding leg so this one probably felt closer than the scoreline suggests.

For Toms Kingy (3 140s) won 4 times and Sam and Ross both won twice.  Sam hit 2 180s on the night and Ross 7 140s.

Scorpions had three excellent performances and a phenomenal one.  There were three wins each for Scotty (5 140s, 102 peg, 18 darter) and Brian (2 140s, an 18 darter) while Glen (5 140s, 1 180 and a 17 darter) went one better with 4 wins.

But the final word goes to Bobby who had an elite-level night and put up some of the best numbers we’ve ever seen at Norths.  Five wins from six including all of his singles, 8 140s and a 180 would go down as a great showing but on top of that he threw low games of 14, 2 x 15 and 2 x 17 darts.

Motley Mustangs 12 vs Imports 8 Match Stats

This was one started close but at 4 apiece Mustangs hit the front and could not be caught.  This was a bit of an unusual one with Mustangs losing all 4 doubles but still bringing home the bacon.

For Imports Shane going well and winning 2 doubles & 2 singles with a 112 peg and a 140.  The two Smythes won a singles each plus their two doubles together but Nev claiming the family bragging rights courtesy of a cracking 154 peg after both he and James hit 140s on the night.

Mustangs claiming the points on the back of their singles form with Mick (1 140), Willy (3 140s) and Steve (2 140s, 1 180) all winning three from 4.  Glen (2 singles wins, 2 140s) and Bruce (1 singles win, 2 140s) also made telling contributions.

A GRADE Season 2 Round 4

Scorpions 12 V Javelins 9  Match Stats

A very evenly balanced match here by the looks of it on paper. It all hinged on the final singles, with flow and ebb from game to game. Finally with 2 wins at 5 and 6, the Scorpions edged home. For the Scorpions, 3 wins to Joe (6 ton+), 2 wins each to Grant (10 biggies), John H (3 ton+), Cameron (5 ton+), Shaun (4 ton+) and Tristian with 8 ton+s and an 18 dart leg. For the Javelins, 4 wins for Peter (5 ton+), 2 wins each to Max (3 ton+). Big scoring from Luch (11 ton+s) and Bryan (12 ton +s) were unlucky on the night.

Pinoy 9 V Nek Minit 12 Match Stats

A real nail biter here coming down to the final 2 singles. Pinot were without a couple of regulars but still made it tough for Nek Minit. For Pinot, Roger stared again with 4 wins, 13 ton+ scores, a 15 dart and a 16 dart leg and a 135 peg out. Outstanding darts. 3 wins for Mel (13 ton+), 2 wins for Edgar (9 ton+). For Nek Minit, 3 wins for Hilton (5 ton+), Ben (8 ton+), Shaun (5 ton+), and Ngawai (2 ton+). Daz (5 ton+) and Mark (5 ton+). Great match both teams.

Seagulls 15 V Marvels 6 Match Stats

A sound win for the Gulls here ensuring the win at the start of the final singles. 4 wins for Gary (12 big scores), 3 wins for Nigel (12 ton+), Rudi (5 ton+), and Christian (13 ton+). Great team effort. For the Marvels, 2 wins each for Ben (5 ton+), Neal (5 ton+), and Niki (ton). A tough assignment against the Seagulls on form tonight.

Cannons 8 V Gremlins 13 Match Stats

A fairly even match on the night at the boards but not truly reflected on paper. For the Cannons, Neil with 4 wins and 7 ton+s was the standout. 2 wins each to Graham (6 big scores) and Mike (7 ton+s) including a 110 peg. Well played. For the Gremlins an overall team contribution with Jack sewing up the result in the first of the homeward bound singles. 4 wins for Terry (ton), 3 wins for Ian (2 ton+), while 2 wins each for Alex (5 tons), Garry (2 ton+), and Mark (4 ton+). Gremlins now have a 2 week break to get in some practice.

Tossers v BYE

B GRADE Season 2 Week 7 Full Ladder

The Links 9 v Wanderers 6 Match Stats

The Links got off to a cracking start on this night. They took a couple of quick wins in the doubles round and followed up strongly with 4 wins in the second round to get 6 wins on the board straight up. The Wanderers answered back with a double win of their own, and 2 timely wins in the second round. The Wanderers could still come back, but it’d mean winning all but 1 in the last round. They continued strong winning games 1, 2 and 4, but with The Links winning game 3 and 5, it was all over for the Wanderers. Great scoring by Harsh with 5 ton plus scores, and the trifecta to Pieter, Ben and Nicky from the Links. Shout out to Lance with 4 ton plus scores and the trifecta from the Wanderers.

Jockys 6 v Misfits 9 Match Stats

Well the last time these two met there was a fierce play off that resulted in the Misfits win, would the Jockys redeem themselves tonight? Sharp shooters at the ready, Newty had a blitzer with an 18 dart game, a hat trick, and 8 ton plus scores, Thommo followed that up with 5 ton plus scores and a 108 peg. Would it be enough? The Misfits came out the gates firing, with a quick 2 wins in the doubles and 4 wins straight up in the second round. They only needed three more to seal the deal. Unfortunately the third round wins the Jockys took wasn’t enough to take the win in the end, but the games were strongly fought by both teams and great to see the competition heating up at the G!

Dragons 2 v Mustangs 13 Match Stats

The Mustangs were on fine form tonight with a convincing win against the Dragons. By all means, the Dragons were in the fight, with great performances from Dave with a one hundred and eiiiiiggggghhhhhhhtty and 4 other ton plus scores to back it up, as well as Ashlea with a 124 and a win on the last game of the night just to let the Mustangs know they mean business when they face them off again. Consistently great darts from the lads in the Mustangs, with everyone contributing to the team win and solid scoring all night.

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 24

Premier League Season 2 Round 7 Full Ladder

Raptors 6 vs Strays 14 Match Stats

The Raptors threw well tonight, hitting 2 180s and 3 ton+ finishes amongst the usual haul of 140s but they ran into a Strays side who, from 1 to 4, were throwing somewhere near their best.  On the way to this comprehensive win the visitors piled in 5 maximums, 23 140+, 2 ton plus finishes and a low game making this a high quality contest.

There were two wins each for three of the Raptors, Corey, Dinga and Blades, and not much to choose between the three of them really.  Corey hit 4 140s, a 180 and a 112 peg; Blades hit 2 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter; and Dinga had a 106 peg.  On top of that Liam hit 2 140s and a 118 checkout.

But what about those Strays?
Dave (4 wins) was in power scoring mode with 8 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter.
Jack (5 wins) hit 5 140s and as sweet a 156 checkout as you’ll see this side of Barney’s practice room.
Ciaran (4 wins) hit 4 140s, 2 180s and a 100 peg going 20-tops-tops.
Banz (5 wins) hit a league best 5 140s and 2 180s.

Scorpions 14 vs Dragoffs 6 Match Stats

Scorpions took an early lead from the doubles but Dragoffs kept them within touching distance for much of this game.  In fact it was only the two doubles which separated them with the score at 7-5 to the Scorps.  It was at this point that the home team lit the afterburners and claimed the last 6 games of singles and the two league points.

A lovely performance by Heals who won 6 from 6 with a 124 peg and a 15 darter with great support from BA (5 wins, 3 140s and a 17 darter) as well as Glen (4 wins and a 140).  Brian also chipped in with two wins, a 114 peg and low games of 17 and 18 darts.

A solid showing from Richard who picked up 3 wins and hit 4 140s with Matty winning twice, hitting a pair of 140s in the process.  Daemon (1 140) and Max (2 140s and a 106 peg) won one apiece.

Motley Mustangs 10 vs Peeping Toms 10 Match Stats

This was one of those 10-all draws that was probably the fairest result as there was only one occasion where a team had a 2 game lead and that was wiped out in the following round of singles.

The Mustangs had contributions across the park with Willy (4 140s) leading the way with four wins.  Steve (1 140) chipped in with 3 wins with Mick (3 140s and a 171) and Glen (a 180) adding two each.

Two Toms towered above the rest with 5 wins each, Kingy and Ross.  It was a quality performance from Ross who hit 4 140s and 2 18 darter and a 16 darter with Kingy hitting 5 140s and a 17 darter.  Sam the other Tom in the winners circle thanks in part to his 2 140s and 2 180s.

Imports 5 vs Bears 15 Match Stats

The Bears are climbing up the table and Imports caught them on what looks like a pretty good night.  Horse especially dominant with 6 wins from 6 and only one doubles leg conceded all night.  On the way he hit 5 140s, 2 180s and an 180 darter.  Azza continues to find form with 5 wins while Pas (2 140s, a 180) got up 4 times  and Shaz 3 times.

For Imports Nev (1 40) won 3 times, James (1 140) twice and Shane (2 140s) once.

A GRADE Season 2 Round 3

Nek Minit 7 V Scorpions 14  Match Stats

A win for the Scorpions tonight despite playing a depleted team in Nek Minit. But to their credit, Nek Minit gave it a good go. For Nek Minit, 3 wins for Hilton (8 ton+) 2 wins for Mark (5 ton+’s) 1 each for Shaun (3 tons), and Ben (5 ton+). For the Scorpions, with some powerful scoring here, made sure of the result by the end of the second singles round. 4 wins each for John (10 ton+s, an 18 and a 17 dart game), Grant (11 ton+s). 3 wins for Joe (6 ton+). 2 wins for Matt ( 2 ton+ and a 180).

Tossers 11 V Cannons 10 Match Stats

Here we go again with a close result….wow  coming into the last singles it was all to play for. 8-7 in favour of the Tossers. Cannons fired off a warning shot winning games 1 & 2 meanwhile games 3 & 4 were halved. Fittingly the last 2 singles went the full 2-1 distance. Great darts to all. For the Tossers, 4 wins each for Tony ( 180, 7 ton+s), Ben (12 ton+s). For the Cannons, 4 wins for Alan, 3 wins for Graham (4 tons), 2 wins for Tom (ton). Great match.

Gremlins 9 V Marvels 11 Match Stats

A fairly close affair on paper however the Gremlins could not quite get it done. The Marvels jumped out to a 6-3 lead after the first round of singles and only had to hold their own in the last 2 sets, which they did. 4 wins each from Ian (8 ton+s) & Neal (9 ton+s) led the way while 3 wins for Nikki (140). For the Gremlins, Steve stole the show with a 180, and 3 wins, 2 wins for Alex (4 ton+s) while Jack smashed a 114 peg out.

Pinoy Darters 14 V Seagulls 7 Match Stats

Pinoy continue their good form this season despite some strong darts from an understrength Seagulls team of 5 players. For the Seagulls, 3 wins for Nigel (8 ton+). 2 wins each for Steve (8 ton+) and Gary with 10 ton+ scores and 2 X 180’s. Great darts Gary. For the Pinoy’s, 3 wins each for Mel (9 ton+, and 102 peg), Edgar (10 ton+) and Roger (9 ton+). 2 wins each for Bob(2 ton+), Luke (3 ton+) and Leo 1 x ton.

Javelins v BYE

B GRADE Season 2 Week 6 Full Ladder

Mustangs 5 v The Links 10 Match Stats

The Mustangs welcomed number one placed The Links to their home ground tonight. The Links got off to a good start being 6 v 3 up by the end of the second round and were on a roll with ton plus scores. The Mustangs got a couple of timely wins in the third round but unfortunately The Links were too good on this occasion. Shout out to Graham and Pieter with the hat trick on the night and a solid 2 ton + to back it up. Nicky had a blitzer with the hat trick as well but paired that with a classy 2 x 140’s and 4 tonnes. The Links keep their spot at the top of the table.

Jockys 11 v Wanderers 4 Match Stats

Old rivals faced off again at the G, and the Wanderers came fresh ready to give the Jockys a touch up but it was not to be. The Jockys had a cracker night – especially Newty with a 180, 5 other ton + scores ,a 19 dart game, and a hat trick – look out! Pat and Josh were also welcomed to the hat trick club and overall the Jockys walked away with a solid 15 ton plus scores on the night. The Wanderers took a couple of timely wins but the Jockys were just too good on the night.

Misfits 8 v Dragons 7 Match Stats

What a tight game this was! The Dragons got off to a solid start with a handy 2 wins in the doubles round, and continuing on to secure another 3 in the first round of singles. The Misfits, not to be outdone, were 4 wins up by the end of the second round and it was anybodies game. The Misfits took the first win in the third round, but not to be outdone, Paula kept the Dragons in the race with her win. We’d go back and forth between the Misfits and the Dragons and any one could’ve taken it but tonight it was the Misfits. Big shout out to Michael with 6 ton + and Dave with 5 ton + scores. And the hat trick went to Matt and Dave on the night – well done!

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 23

Premier League Season 2 Round 6 Full Ladder

Scorpions 12 vs Bears 8 Match Stats

The final scoreline perhaps not reflecting that Scorpions got ahead early in this one and held a 4 game margin for much of the game before closing things out at 11-5.

A strong effort from Pas in defeat with 4 wins while Horse (5 140s and a 17 darter) and Azza (2 140s) both won twice.

Pat best on show for Scorpions with 5 wins, 5 140s and an 18 darter with 4 victories apiece for BA (4 140s and a 106 peg) and Glen (4 140s).  Brian also had a 16 darter along the way.

Raptors 9 vs Peeping Toms 11 Match Stats

A trademark Raptors thriller for the Wantima derby with hardly anything to separate the teams all night.  In fact the scores were locked level from the start until, at 6-all, PT grabbed the wins on both boards to open a 2 game lead.  They held on to 10-8 with the doubles to come but Raptors made them earn the winner by keeping the result alive.  Ross and Rick were able to deliver the points but it took a deciding leg to do it.

A quality outing for Ross with a perfect 6 wins, 6 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter with strong support as ever from Kingy who won 4 times with 2 140s and a 17 darter.  Rick won 3 times on his return to BNSDC.

All Raptors contributing with 3 wins each from Dinga, Blades (3 140+ scores) and Wayne (2 140s) and 2 from Brendan (2 140s).

Motley Mustangs 9 vs Dragoffs 11 Match Stats

This one started of close until Dragoffs blew it open by winning six straight to move to an 8-2 lead.  Mustangs could only close the gap to 4 games before the visitors wrapped it up 11-7 before MM consoled themselves with the last two doubles of the day.

A good night for Steve who won five from 5 with three 140s, with Willy (1 140) winning 3 times.  Other Mustangs of note were Mick who won 2 singles and Glen who fired in a 180.

Dragoffs getting home on the back of a good team performance.  Standout again was Max (3 140s, a 177) with 4 wins with three wins each for Richard (140, 180) and Matt (2 140s and a 119 peg).

Strays 16 vs Imports 4 Match Stats

Strays too strong for Imports at Chermside.

For the visitors Shane picked up two wins and Jamie and Jamil one each.

A good night all round for Strays with perfect showings of 6 from 6 for Jack (4 140s and 2 16 darters) and Ciaran (140, 180) and 5 wins for Banz (4 140s, a 180).  Kylie picked up 3 wins on her return to Strays colours.

A GRADE Season 2 Round 2

Scorpions 5 v Pinoy 16 Match Stats

Well it looks like the early bye for the Pinoys was a good thing. They came out firing tonight. A big night for Roger with 4 wins, a 180, a 17 dart leg and 12 big scores. Mel (9 ton+), 4 wins and a 17 dart leg. 4 wins for Leo with 6 big scores. Edgar fired in a 180, 3 wins and 7 ton+s. Top darts.

The Scorpions with 2 wins to Darryl (7 ton+s) and 1 each to Grant (8 tons), Cam (1 ton) and Shaun (3 biggies) wasn’t enough to survive the juggernaut of the Pinoy tonite. A rare night and better to come from the season 1 premiers.

Seagulls 14 v Gremlins 7 Match Stats

Round 2 at the Brook, with the Seagulls running out winners over the Gremlins. On paper, they were twice as good on the night. It was all decided by the time the final round of singles was played. Christian had a good night with 4 wins, a 180, a 16 dart leg and 8 other big scores. Nigel was also on song with 4 wins and 16 ton+ scores. Gary contributed 3 wins and 6x ton+s.

For the Gremlins, all their singles wins came as 2-1 victories, so the score line would have been bad, if not for those close wins. 2 wins for Garry on the night while the team shot 25 ton+ scores overall. Not good enough to threaten but glimpses of form.

Marvels 10 v Tossers 11 Match Stats

Another close encounter for the Tossers, but coming out on top tonight. The result rested on the final singles, with the Tossers having to halve the spoils to win. For the victors, 4 wins for Ben (6 ton+), 3 wins each for Mark (4 ton+s), Tony (8 big ones). Pat bashed in 7 ton+s and had 1 win. A good overall team performance.

For the Marvels, it would prove to be the loss 2-1 in the dreaded doubles that cost the win. 3 wins for Ben (3 tons), 2 each for Nikki (ton), Ian (5 ton+), Neal (7 ton+ scores) and Don (2 tons).  Good team effort as well.

Cannons 5 v Javelins 16 Match Stats

Looks like the Jav’s were all business here, over the line by the start of the third singles. But relentlessly, they powered on to win another 5.  For the Jav’s, Tony took 4 wins with 2 big scores, Max also with 4 wins (7 ton+s). 3 wins each for Peter, (5 ton+s), Luch (3 tons) and Bryan (8 ton+). Strong performance.

The Cannons hit 24 ton+ scores as a team, but couldn’t combine these with wins. 8 ton+s from Jason, 7 from Mike and 5 from Tom. 2 wins for Neil (3 ton+s). A hard night, but against a tough team on the night. Hang in there.

Nek Minit v BYE

Lucky win by Nek’s. LOL.

The Wanderers got off to a solid start with two doubles win and continued strongly with another 4 wins in the first round of singles. The Misfits, eager to continue their strong form displayed throughout this season made sure to snatch a doubles win and 2 strong wins in the second round. However the Wanderers would come home with it, completing the third round with another three wins to take the score 9 o 6. Great scoring performances from Mark and Leo with 3 ton plus scores each, and Matt with a solid ton and 134. Snow showed kept his sharp form on point with 3 ton plus scorers also.

Mustangs 5 v Jockys 10 Match Stats

What a ton fest this game was! While the score looks a little one sided this game was definitely fought fiercely by the Mustangs. The Mustangs scored a solid 14 ton plus scores on the night, while the Jockeys scored a respectful 16 ton plus to answer back. The Jockeys took an early lead that the Mustangs just couldn’t quite catch back but both teams had convincing 2 leg straight wins, it was just the Jockys who brought home the bacon on this occasion. The win helped the Jockys solidfy their second place in the B Grade.

Dragons 5 v The Links 10 Match Stats

The Links had a ripper match tonight against the Dragons. Sealing a 10 v 5 win to keep them firmly in place at the top of the B Grade with a very capable Jockys breathing down their neck only 2 points behind. The Dragons had some timely wins with their fierce leader Gav doubles win with partner Alena, and following up strongly with a win in 2 in the singles leg, and a neat 3 ton plus scores to match. Dave, Gila and Elena followed up with wins of their own to get the Dragons 5 games for the night. The Links were just too strong this time, with both Nicky and Yash taking a hat trick and 4 tone plus scores to go with it, and the rest of the team coming home strong to help seal the victory and their spot at the top.

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 22

Premier League Season 2 Round 5 Full Ladder

Five weeks in and this is shaping up to be the tightest PL season ever with only 3 points separating the middle 4 teams.

Bears 7 vs Peeping Toms 13 Match Stats

These teams met with 5 league points each in the bag and the closeness on the ladder was matched by the closeness of the early exchanges.  The doubles were split and so it went until it got to 5-all at the half way stage.  At this point Toms put their foot down and peeled off 7 from 8 to take the points.

This is the result that the Toms have been building to but it really lays down an early season marker for them as finals contenders.

Over to the individual performances and for Bears Horse and Azza (2 140s) picked up 4 wins each with Pas hitting 4 140s.  The visitors had a great team performance with Sam leading the way with 5 wins, a 140, 2 180s and a 171 with Ross (2 140s, a 17 darter) winning 4 times.  Three wins each for Kingy (4 140s, a 180) and Chris (a 140 and a 174).

Dragoffs 8 vs Strays 12 Match Stats

This game saw the return of Dave and the end of Greg’s excellent early season cameo. Strays took the doubles and maintained this two game cushion all the way to 8-6 up and the last round of singles.  With all results still possible the visitors made the decisive move and took 3 from 4 to move to 11 and secure the 2 league points.

Not much sign of rust from Dave who won 5 from 6, hit 4 140s and and 18 darter with five wins also from Frosty (3 140s).  Ciaran (2 140s a 180) won 3 times and Banz hit a 128 peg on the bull.

For Dragoffs there were three wins each for Richard (4 140s, 18 darter) and Gabe (1 140) and two for Max (1 180).  Impressive finishing also on display from Richard and Gabe who clinched a win each in style with a ton plus checkout, Richard with a beautiful 160 and Gabe with a very handy 106 with his opponent sat on a double.

Imports 11 vs Raptors 9 Match Stats

Imports welcomed Jamil back into the team and the new-look lineup got off to the perfect start by edging to victory against North’s nailbiter specialists Raptors.

This one was neck and neck to 5-all when Raptors pulled clear by taking 3 from 4.  This lead was short lived as Imports hit straight back with a 3 from 4 round of their own to take it to 9-all with the reverse doubles to come.  Imports took the first one and, with the second at 1-all in the final game it must have seemed as if a draw was inevitable.  Shane and James were happy to tear up the script and grab two league points for Imports.

The numbers (“only” 4 140s, 2 180s and 108 peg) suggest Corey wasn’t at his sparkling best but he still went home with 5 wins including all 4 of his singles for the loss of just one leg, and there were three wins for Dinga and two from Wayne.  Wins across the board for Imports with Shane (3 140s, a 116 peg and a 15 darter) leading the way with four and three from Nev (2 140s).  Underlining that this was a real team effort is the fact that the remaining three players all picked up two wins each with James’ 3 140s just pushing him a head of Jamil and Daral.

Scorpions 13 vs Motley Mustangs 7 Match Stats

Scorpions too strong for Mustangs as a well-rounded team performance saw them get home 13 games to 7.  This wasn’t a cruise to victory by any means though and with the game at 8-6 the door was slightly ajar.  It was slammed shut when Scorps took 3 of the next 4 to get to the 11 games which secured the win.

Brian M on song with 5 wins plus the quadrella of 5 140s, a 180, a 115 peg and low games of 17 darts, and 18 twice.  Four wins each for the rest of the team namely, Scotty (5 140s, 18 darter), BA (4 140s and a 106 peg) and Glen (4 140s).

Standing strong with three wins each were Mick (3 140s) and Willy (3 140s and low games of 18 & 16 darts) with maximums from Steve and Glen, who also hit a 17 darter.

A GRADE Season 2 Round 1

We are back A Grade – season 2 opening round. Welcome to the new teams and/or new team names. All the best for the season.

Seagulls 12 v Scorpions 9 Match Stats

To kick us off we had the grand final rematch at the new venue – Gaythorne RSL. Of course a close encounter between these two teams. 1 extra doubles win and 2 more singles wins in the second round saw the Seagulls only needing 2 wins in the last singles to take the cookies – and this they did. For the Scorpions, Grant was on song with 3 wins and 10 big scores. John also had 3 wins and 6 tons. 2 wins each for Daryl (4 tons) and Joe (2 big scores). For the Seagulls, Nigel with 3 wins and 14 ton+ scores led the way. 3 wins for Gary (8 big scores) and Steve with 2 wins (8 biggies). Overall, a fairly close contest on paper, to start the season.

Nek Minit 15 v Cannons 6 Match Stats

Nek Minit could only field 5 players for the season opener, but still managed a comfortable win despite losing all the doubles matches.3 wins for Shaun (6 big scores) and 2 each for all the other players. 7 ton+ scores for Mark and 5 for Danny were the standout stats. Good effort with 1 player short. Welcome to A Grade Cannons, and by the looks of the scores, we can expect some good results from your team. Leading the way on the night was Mike with 3 wins (11 ton+s and a 146 peg out). 2 wins for Graham (3 ton+). A good effort against a tough outfit in Nek Minit.

Javelins 9 v The Marvels 12 Match Stats

Welcome to a new team name, Marvels, but with familiar players. With the outcome almost sealed for the Marvels after the second singles, the Jav’s fought back to make a close game of it. For the Marvels, 3 wins a piece for Ian (4 ton+), Neal (1 ton+) and Corey (3 ton+). Nikki chimed in with 2 wins and a ton to boot. Ben (4 tons) sealed the win in the fourth singles of the last round. For the Jav’s, 3 wins each to Bryan (7 big scores) and Max (2 ton+). A great fight back in the final singles showed how dangerous this team can be. Good game.

Tossers 10 v Gremlins 11 Match Stats

A long night for the two teams with the result decided by a solitary game. Those wins in the doubles really are like gold. A nail biter in the final game, coming down to a 2-1 result in favour of the Gremlins. 3 wins each to Terry (3 ton+), Steve (12 ton+). 2 wins each for Alex (2 ton+), Jack (4 tons). A good team effort. For the Tossers, a tough result but one that could have gone either way. 4 wins for Tony (5 ton+). 3 wins for Pat (7 ton+). 2 wins each for Mark (5 tons), and Ben (5 ton+). A good solid contest and a great way to start the season.

Pinoy Darters v BYE

By the looks of the results from the first round, we may be in for a tight competition this season. All the best to all teams.

B GRADE Season 2 Week 4 Full Ladder

The Links 10 v Misfits 5 Match Stats

The Links were all set to face The Misfits on Home ground and feeling confident with the return of their heavy hitter Nicky back fresh from a much needed holiday in South Africa, welcome back! The doubles rounds opened up fiercely for the links taking all three match ups for a solid three win lead heading into the singles. The Misfits however were going to show the links that were not taking that lying down with Mark, Leo and Michael all securing wins and the Links pushed back hard drawing three wins also in the first singles set with Yash, Harsh and Ben taking wins to hold the match at 6 to 3 at the end of the first singles. In the end the Links proved too solid and secured another four wins in the last round to close the match. A solid performance from both teams with plenty of tons flying the highest score on the night went to Ben from the Links with a monster of 132 well done.

Dragons 10 v Jockys 5 Match Stats

The Dragons faced off against The Jockeys at Chermside for round 4. The Dragons opened up the scoring bank in the doubles with two wins to find they had been denied access with The Jockeys securing 5 wins in the first singles. A valiant defense from Gavin of the Dragons stopped a clean sweep in the first singles for the Jockeys. The second round of singles saw the Dragons fire up with Gavin and Paula taking the first wins of the round, however the Jockeys proved too strong and took the rest of the round. Well done both teams and congrats to Josh from the jockeys with a 106 peg out!

Wanderers 6 v Mustangs 9 Match Stats

The G, no not the Gabba! The Gaythorne RSL! Our scene for tonight’s match.
The Mustangs bolted through the gate early taking all the doubles wins to be up 3 nil at the beginning of the first singles only to be reigned in by the Wanderers who fought back three wins to start the last round trailing by three and hunting the Mustangs in the last round. The Wanderers took three more wins only to find The Mustangs galloping home in the end of the last round taking back 3 wins to win the night with solid performances by Richard, Graham and Lindsay to end the night. Well done Mustangs! A great match!

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 21

A GRADE Season 1 Grand Final

Scorpions “B” 11 v Seagulls 8

What a fitting end to Season 1 with the top 2 teams putting their skills to the test in the Grand Final. It appeared that the Scorpions would go into the match as favourites, having virtually swept all and sundry aside during the regular season. However the Seagulls proved to be the most likely to topple the Scorpions.

The teams were only separated by a single win going into the final singles round. Both teams had opportunities which inevitably would seal the deal for the player who made the most of those fleeting chances.

After three and a half hours, a victory was claimed with a few games remaining. The ultimate result read 11-8. No doubt, as the last few games progressed, the remaining players looked on anxiously, secretly hoping that the result would not depend on their game. The tension was evident and all players from both teams are congratulated for their efforts on the night.

A great performance for the season by the runners up and worthy opponents.

Congratulations, and the Title of A Grade – 2018 – Season 1 Champions goes to:-

The Scorpions B Team.

Bring on Season 2!!

Premier League Season 2 Round 4 Full Ladder

Dragoffs 12 vs Bears 8 Match Stats

This result was really in the balance at 6-all before Bears got over the line by taking 5 of the last 6 games of singles.

Max doing what Max does with 5 wins and 6 140s with 3 wins and 2 140s with Matt hitting a 180.  Azza looking sharp with 5 wins, 4 140s and a 180 with 3 wins each for Horse, Pas and Shaz, who knocked in a 128 peg.

Imports 5 vs Peeping Toms 15 Match Stats

Toms keep themselves in second spot with this win although other results keep things tight at the top.  On the night Toms went off fast and kept their foot down all the way to the finishing line.

Shane (3 wins, 3 140s) and Daral (2 wins) doing best for Imports.

Ross won 6 from 6 and hit 5 140s with Kingy (3 140s), Sam (2 140s) and Chris winning 4 times each.

Strays 11 vs Scorpions 9 Match Stats

The last few meetings between these teams have been high quality nail-biters and this one was no different.  Rather than being the usual tit-for-tat encounter this one saw Strays power to a 6-2 lead which they held until the scores reached 10-6.  From there Scorpions applied some pressure to get it back to 10-8 but Greg and Frosty held firm to grab the points.

Greg once again top of the heap with 6 wins, 4 180s, 3 140s and low games of 14 and 18 darts.  Frosty also going well wit 4 wins, 5 140s and a 16 darter.  Ciaran also hit 5 140s, won 2 singles and hit an 18 darter.

Scorpions spread their wins around with Scotty (3 140s) taking four, Brian (4 140s, a 180, an 18 darter) three and two each for both Glen (4 140s, a 180) and Bobby (5 140s, a 16 darter).

Raptors 14 vs Motley Mustangs 6 Match Stats

Apologies if this result has been misfiled but I can’t seem to find it.  Could I ask the skippers to resend please?

B GRADE Season 2 Week 3 Full Ladder

Wanderers 9 v Dragons 6 Match Stats

Competition has certainly become fierce in B Grade. Wanderers faced off Dragons for the first time this season and were greeted with some serious darts. Wanderers kicked off to an early lead with 2 doubles wins, and continued their winning streak into the second round by taking the first three wins. The Dragons weren’t letting much past them though, securing a solid doubles win, and 2 wins in the second round to keep them in the game. The Wanderers were up 6 v 3 going into the third round, but the Dragons made sure to let the Wanderers know they were still in business with a quick win from Cathie and Ben. Wanderers came away victorious though taking another 3 wins in the last round for an overall victory of 9 v 6 – the first win for the Wanderers in this season. Notable performances Lance (3 wins, and a 102), Dave (3 wins, and a 132), Paula (2 wins, T),  Gav (2 wins, and a 127). Some great performances from the ladies with Cathie, Paula, Carol and Elyse taking wins on the night. And shout out to the Wanderers where every team member took a win.

Jockys 8 v The Links 7 Match Stats

What a tight game! These fierce rivals had a battle on their hands to see who would take the 2 points this week. Neither side was willing to give an inch! True to form from both of these teams, there was a smattering of tonnes across the bench, so we can be sure that some of these games ended on a knife-edge. Solid pairing Pat and Newty kicked off the Jockys night with a doubles win, as did sharp shooters Rupen and Pieter, and Yash and Ben. The Jockys were quick to fire up in the second round, stealing a nice 4 game win thanks to Pat, Newty, Peter and Matt. The Links made sure to steal a few back though to keep the win within eye shot with 2 great performances by Pieter and Ben who took their games 2-0. The teams went into the third round 5 v 4 in favour of the Jockys. It looked like the tide was turning with Ben and Rupen took the first 2 games in the third round, but Pat brought the Jockys a timely win in the third game. We were now 6 all. Matt stepped up to the plate against Antoinette, who made him work for it! Although Matt took the win, it went to 3 legs so it must’ve been a fierce fight. The Jockys only needed one more to win the night and Newty brought home the bacon for the Jockys. It could’ve gone either way! Look forward to seeing these 2 teams face off again next time!

Mustangs 9 v Misfits 6 Match Stats

*report*

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 20

A GRADE Season 1 Finals Week 2

Seagulls 11 v Nek Minit 8

Another great semi here at the Brook. Stung by their defeat last week, Seagulls were out to prove a point and book a Grand Final spot against the Scorpions. Nek Minit was on a high from their nail-biter win last week against a gallant Pinoy. With a 2-1 lead from the doubles, Seagulls fired up by winning 4-2 in the first singles. This seemed to sting the Nek Minit team somewhat and couldn’t match the Gulls in the second singles going down 4-2 again. This would leave only one game standing between Seagulls and a Grand final berth. Nek Minit with a never say die effort, took 3 of the first 4 singles. This was almost a repeat of their previous semi and perhaps saw a glimmer of a chance. Unfortunately for Nek Minit, the Seagulls rallied to polish off the night with a couple of games to spare. A worthy final with both teams performing well. Commiserations to Nek Minit and we will see you in season 2 no doubt. Congrats to the Gulls and now, it would seem, it’s time for revenge on the Scorpions perhaps in the grand finale. Best of luck and may the best team win.

Premier League Season 2 Round 3 Full Ladder

Even though it’s very early, this season seems to be shaping into one where teams that have missed out on finals spots in the past are throwing their names into the mix this time around.

Bears 10 vs Motley Mustangs 10 Match Stats

Without a doubt the Motleys best ever result against this strong Bears outfit at the Brook and one that they had to fight for every step of the way.  Bears got away to great start and cruised to a 5-1 lead but Mustangs immediately got back on level terms at 5 apiece.  From there Bears were able to open up a couple of two game cushions but, again Mustangs kept closing them down.  At 9-all with the doubles to come it would seem that a draw is the fairest result and on this occasion that’s what we got.

Two Bears chalked up 5 wins each: Horse (5 140s, a 180) and Azza who it an 18 darter and a very sweet 158 peg, the highest of season two at this moment, while Shaz added another 17 darter to her collection.

Mustangs had vital contributions from all 5 but none more than Willy with 4 circles and a 154 peg with Stephen picking up 3 wins and Glen hitting 2 maximums.

Dragoffs 14 vs Imports 6 Match Stats

Dragoffs started well and were able to maintain a good cushion all the way to the finishing line thanks to a strong team effort.  Five wins each for Richard and Max, who hit 3 140s and a 17 darter, with 4 each for Gabe and Norths newcomer Daemon.

A solid contribution from Daral with 3 singles wins from 4 with Nev winning twice with a 17 darter and a 103 peg in there as well.

Scorpions 11 vs Raptors 9 Match Stats

A high-quality match that really had everything: the closest of finishes, power scoring, big checkouts and lots of low games.

After sharing the opening doubles Raptors pushed out to a 2 game lead which they held until the halfway stage at which point Scorpions tied things up.  From 6-all onwards every pair of singles games was split one each leaving it on the nine-all knife edge with the reverse double to come.  Scotty and The Machine secured at least a point in a deciding leg shootout before handing it over to Heals and BA.  This one also went all the way before the home team put away the final double and ensure both league points were theirs.

There’s so much to like about this ever-improving Raptors side whose league position doesn’t completely reflect their play.  Corey, excellent as ever with 4 singles wins, 6 140s, a 180 and low games of 15 and 18 darts with excellent support from Blades who won 3 times hitting 2 140s, a 110 peg, a 17 darter and three maximums.

The wins were spread evenly for Scorpions with four each for Brian (2 140s, a 180), Scotty (3 140s) and Heals (2 140s, a 180, 15 darter and pegs of 113 and 102).

Peeping Toms 9 vs Strays 11 Match Stats

A worthy encounter between the top two teams on the early season ladder with Strays able to keep their noses in front after taking the opening doubles.  There was never much in this one and Toms could have grabbed a share of the points in the last game of doubles.  It was not to be as Greg and Frosty laid down the mother of all markers with an opening 15 dart leg of 601.  Frosty started with a 180 then it went 134, 140, 87 and 60 in 3 darts.   To their credit Toms fought back to take it to a decider but couldn’t quite get over the line.

Greg was the Strays rock in this one with 6 from 6, 4 140s and 3 180s with three wins each for Frosty (5 140s, 1 180) and Ciaran (3 140s).

Ross again throwing some high quality darts with 4 wins, 4 140s and 4 low games (1 x 15, 3 x 18) and four wins also for Kingy (3 140s, 1 180s).  Sam continues to show he can be a match for anyone by closing out one of his games of singles with pegs of 120 and 106.

B GRADE Season 2 Week 2 Full Ladder

Wanderers 6 v The Links 9  Match Stats

Old rivals faced off tonight – the wooden spooners vs the team who were equal chance for taking the win in Season 2. The Wanderers settled in at their sparkly new home ground and came ready with their game faces, and the Links came prepared to continue their solid winning streak from last season. The Wanderers had a good start, 2 doubles wins went in the bag thanks to star duos Lance and Dave, and ladies night for Carol and Elyse. Yash and Harsh took their game to the 3rd leg against Snow and Christian though and came away with the win. The second round kicked off and the Wanderers made sure to steal a couple of quick wins to keep the Links on their toes. But the Links came back with a vengeance in the second round, with Pieter, Rupen, Harsh and Yash taking some timely wins. The end of the second round saw both teams at 4 v 4. The third round opened and Pieter took a quick win against Tim, but Dave answered back with a win against Rupen. The scores were level. Game 3 and 4 went a game to both sides too, thanks to Harsh taking his game, and Lance with his. The scores then stood at 6 v 6. With a keenly foccussed performance, Ben and Yash took the last 2 games of the round to seal the win for the Links. It’s the closest the Wanderers have come to taking a win off the Links, testament to both teams for keeping their focus over the break.

Jockys 9 v Misfits 6  Match Stats

Well hello to the Misfits! New to B Grade but well on the right track with 2 wins in a row! Looks like B Grade has some fierce competition joining the ranks. The Misfits played the sharp shooting Jockys, who have consistently held top of the ladder positions in the B Grade. There was a smattering of ton plus scores tonight – both teams probably drilled the triples out of the board. New boards required at the G RSL thanks guys 😉 Misfits had a total of 21 ton plus scores on the night, the Jockys also had a great night with 13 amongst theirs. Notable performances go to Matt (2 wins, 6 ton plus scores), Dan (2 wins, 8 ton plus scores, 130 peg) and Chris (2 wins, 2 ton plus scores). On the Jockys side great performances had by Newty (2 wins, 5 ton plus scores) and new Jocky Matt (2 wins, 2 tons). The Misfits tooks the first 2 games in the doubles round, but the Jockys answered took a double and a quick couple of wins in the 2nd round to keep them in the game. The Misfits were firing on all cylinders in the 2nd round, taking 4 wins and leaving the scores at 6 v 3 at the end of the first singles round. The Misfits took the first 3 wins in the third round, which sealed their win for the night but the Jockys finished the night taking the last 3 wins of the round with a respectable result of 9 v 6 to the Misfits. Looks like the Misfits mean business! Both the Misfits and The Links sit on equal points at the top of the table, could we have a new fight off this season for the top 2?

Mustangs 10 v Dragons 5  Match Stats

Welcome back to season 2 Mustangs! The Mustangs turned up tonight certainly not looking to muck around. Although they were down a player, they made the most of it and fought hard to take the win tonight. The Mustangs started strong, with 2 solid wins in the doubles round, but the Dragons made sure they weren’t too comfortable and girl power double Cathie and Paula scored the first win for the Dragons on the night. Jen kept the vibe going for the Dragons with a solid win first up in the second round, but the Mustangs fired back, taking 4 wins – thanks to Graham with a classy 100 peg, and wins by Richo, Peter S, and Peter K. The Mustangs only needed 2 more wins though to take the night. Gavin and Gila held them off at the pass with a quick win in the 3rd round, but the Mustangs were too strong and took another 4 games that round. Solid performance from both teams, with notable performances from Richo (3 wins) and Peter S (3 wins). Well done to both teams!

BNSDC – 2018 – Week 19

A GRADE Season 1 Finals Week 1

Scorpions B 11 vs Seagulls 5

The Scorpions jumped out of the blocks with a 3-0 result in the doubles. They then followed up in the first round of singles with 4 wins. This would prove to be just too far back for the Seagulls, despite battling hard in the second round of singles, sharing the honours 3-3. With only one win required in the final 6 games, the Scorpions wound it up in game 1 to advance straight to the Grand Final. Well done to the Scorpions and all the best in the Grand Final. A second chance for the Seagulls next week, and with a win, could set the scene for a titanic Grand Final. Best of luck to the Gulls.

Pinoy Darters 10 vs Nek Minit 11

What a terrific semi-final by these two teams. An ebb and flow event from the get go. A 5-4 lead to Nek’s after the first singles, certainly set the scene for a real nail biter of a second round. Pinoys consolidated with a 4-2 second round to set up the dynamic crescendo to the final. With a slim lead of 8-7, Pinoy were only 3 games from the win…. But the Nek Minit team dug deep and smashed in 4 wins to 2, securing the last set and the final in the very last game of the night. Well done to Nek Minit and good luck in the second final next week. Unfortunately for the Pinoy, it’s off to season 2. Great seasons performances by both teams.

Premier League Season 2 Round 1 Full Ladder

Bears 13 vs Raptors 7 Match Stats

This one started out close early but with the game poised at 3-all Bears won 9 of the last 12 games of singles for what ended up a fairly comfortable victory.  Bears got this one done with a solid team performance with 5 wins for guest star Glen (2 140s), 4 each for Pas and Azza (3 140s) and 3 for Shaz.

For Raptors Brendan hit a 180 but this night was really all about one player, someone who seems to raise his own high bar week after week, Raptors skipper Corey.  This was one of the best nights we’ve seen by any player in a BNSDC comp and this from someone who started in the lower grades and has been working his way up the ladder since.  And now, those numbers: nine 140s, three 180s, a 114 peg and 4 low games (3 x 17, 1 x 18).  Crazy darts from a player who just keeps getting better.

Imports 4 vs Scorpions 16 Match Stats

Champion teams bounce back from defeat so it should be no surprise that Scorpions had a big night at the Brook Hotel against Imports.  Leading the way was Brian with 6 from 6, 2 140+ visits, a 180, a 100 peg and a 17 darter.  Five time winners were Scotty who powered in 7 140s and low games of 17 and 18 darts and Heals, who didn’t drop a leg of singles all night.  Heals also had a 16 darter, a 180, two scoring visits of 140 and two sparkling 140+ pegs of 147 and 149 – great darts!

For Imports Shane (2 140s) picked up two singles wins from 3, Nev (3 140s, 17 darter) 1 singles win with doubles pairing Jamie and Daral adding the remaining circle for the team.

Dragoffs 10 vs Peeping Toms 10 Match Stats

The Toms second game of the season once again put them up against a team that played in the finals and so 3 points from 4 has to be seen as a good start for a side looking to improve on their 5th place spot.  This was one of those results were a draw was probably fair overall although the Toms did open a two game lead by taking the second round of singles 3-1.  Dragoffs squared it up by doing likewise in the last round of singles to make it 9-all with the doubles to come.  These were shared also with both going to a decider so any result really could have happened.

Contributions across the board for Dragoffs with four wins for Matt (2 140s, a 180 and a 119 peg) , three each for Tony (two “good as a maximum” scores of 171 and 174) and Richard (3 140s) with two wins for Gabe who hit the games highest checkout of 128.

Toms had big contributions from Kingy (5 wins, 3 140s), Ross (4 wins, a 140 and a 16 darter) and Sam (3 wins, 1 140).

Wanderers 7 v Jockys 8  Match Stats

Old rivals faced off to kick start season 2 for the B Grade at the new home ground Gaythorne RSL, and a classic close game it was! The Jockys welcomed back Josh, and brought on new talent Matt, welcome to Season 2!

The Wanderers started off strong, leading the night 5 v 4 by the end of the second round. Captain Snow and Lance took some solid wins straight up and Christian and Dave followed through with some crucial wins continuing through the round. Jockys took 2 of the doubles games straight up, and continued their planned domination with solid wins from Clive and Newty in the second round. Opening up in the third round Lance took a timely win, but the Jockys would storm home taking the next 4 singles games which ultimately won them the night. Great performances from Newty and Lance who took wins in all 3 games on the night. Clive and Dave also took a solid 2 wins on the night.

With a bit of a shuffle in B Grade and some hot new talent, it’s definitely going to make for an interesting season!

Misfits 9 v Dragons 6  Match Stats

Welcome to B Grade Misfits and the Dragons! This game looked like a ton fest – look out B Grade.

Misfits got off to a cracking start, with a solid 2 doubles wins in the first round. They continued to lead strong into the second round, where Mark, Matt, Mike and Joey took wins right off the bat. The Dragons answered back with a timely doubles win from Gavin and Gila, and 2 solid singles wins from Jen and Dean to keep the Dragons in the game. The Misfits fired back with 2 quick wins going into the 3rd round from Mark and Chris, and only needed 1 more to seal the deal! The Dragons weren’t going to let the newbies run away with it though. They quickly responded with 2 more wins from Jen and Dean but the Misfits had won the night. BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 18

B GRADE Season 1 Grand Final

Cannons v The Links

Tonight was the night of nights! The Links fought victoriously to face off the Cannons again in the Grand Final, just slightly missing taking the free ride to the Grand Final on their first match up. But these 2 teams have been both first and second place interchangeably on the B Grade ladder the entire season so it was anyone’s game tonight. The Cannons fronted with their steady 7 – Jason, Tom, Gary, Mike, Graham, Scotty and Neil and fought The Links with their sharp players Yash, Nicky, Pieter, Rupen, Ben and Antoinette.

The doubles round started first, and strong pairing Nicky and Yash managed to fend off Jason and Gary in the third leg. Similarly Mike and Graham had to take their doubles game to the third leg to take the win of Pieter and Rupen. Tom and Scotty didn’t leave anything to chance though, they sealed their doubles win in 2 and Cannons held the lead going into the first round of Singles. Mike, Gary, Jason and Neil took wins in their singles game for the Cannons, and Nicky and Rupen kept The Links in the game with their 2 wins. End of the second round would see Cannons 6 v 3 The Links.

Yash and Nicky came out firiing in the 3rd round, sure to keep The Links in the game and stop the Cannons from taking an early win. They sealed the win on their 2 games against sharp shooters Tom and Jason. If the Cannons took the next 2 wins though, the night was theirs. Gary and Rupen fronted for their battle, 2 consistently strong players throughout the season, and the Cannons took the win 8 games to 5. The Cannons needed just one more! Graham took on Pieter, both great players in their own right with a penchant for sealing the double just when they need it, but on this occasion Graham was too strong – and the Cannons stepped away with the win!

Great fight by The Links though, who held top spot on the leader board for many weeks in the B Grade season, and who consistently score high pegs, ton plus scores and all around great people to play against. The winners of the minor premiership and the B Grade Final would go to the Cannons – well done lads on a fantastic season and putting together a strong and versatile team – you were just too good this season!!

Premier League Season 2 Round 1 Full Ladder

Peeping Toms 14 vs Scorpions 6 Match Stats

When the Toms added BNSDC Men’s Top 8 regular Kingy to their lineup it was clear they were a team with the potential to start moving up the table.  It’s only week one of the new season but his result against one of the comps best team puts them into the serious contender category.

First mention has to go to Ross who put in a truly great and unstoppable performance to open the new season.  He’s definitely shown the ability to throw greats darts since joining the comp in the lower grades but tonight he put it all together with 6 wins, 6 140s and high pegs of 121 &120 and three low games.  Impressive enough were the 18 and 16 darters but it was the years best leg of 12 darts that really stands out.  Also undefeated was Kingy with two 140s, a 180 and a 16 darter to his name with great support coming from Sam B (3 wins, a 140 and checkouts of 102 and 130) and Sam B (2 wins, 2 140s and a 180).

For Scorpions Brian picked up 3 wins and hit 4 140s and a 180 with two wins for Scotty and his usual haul of 6 140s.  Pat added to the overall high quality of the night with a 17 darter.

Strays 14 vs Bears 6 Match Stats

The BNSDC scheduling computer likes a laugh and it proved it first up by throwing the reigning champs against last season’s minor premiers, now playing as Bears.  Strays got off to a dream start and raced to a 6 nil lead before getting to 8-2 up at the halfway stage and 14-6 by the end.  Most of the damage was done by Frosty (6 wins, 7 140s and a 180) and Greg (5 wins and 7 140s).  Both men threw beautifully all night and finished their contribution with an 18 dart leg of 601 doubles (95, 140, 140, 96, 50, 80 peg).  Ciaran also chipped in 3 wins with a 140 and a 180.

For Bears Horse picked up 4 wins hitting a 17 darter and 4 140s, Pas won twice and hit a 110 and Shaz once with a 17 darter in there.

Raptors 8 vs Dragoffs 12 Match Stats

Both these teams have been busy in the transfer market during the off season with 4 of the 8 players making their team debuts in this game.  Raptors welcomed back Wayne and have Brendan moving up to PL while Dragoffs showed off new signings Richard and Matt.

Dragoffs started brightest and stormed to a 6-2 lead and looked very comfortable at 10-4 up.  Anyone who saw Raptors last year knows they play to the last dart and when they swept the last round of singles to close to within two with the doubles to come it looked as if a trademark Raptors draw was on the cards.  But Dragoffs were having none of it and closed out the win.  In the end the doubles were the difference as the singles were shared 8 each but the visitors won all 4 doubles.

This was a classic team performance by the winners with not a lot to choose between any of the players.  Richard won 5, Matt (5 140s) & Max (a 140 & a 180) won 4 each and Gabe (2 140s) 3 times.  Corey once again proved unbeatable in singles with 7 140s and a maximum to his name and a solid PL debut for Brendan who notched 2 singles wins.

Imports 7 vs Motley Mustangs 13 Match Stats

The Motleys opened up with a solid win against Imports on the back of Mick (5 wins), Willy (4 wins, 4 140s, a 180) and Glen (4 wins).  Despite the final scoreline this could not have been tighter for the majority of the night with both teams in lockstep from the first dart up until 6-all.  At this point Mustangs raced to the line by picking up the five of the last six games of singles to take the two league points.

Imports both Shane (4 140s) and Jamie (1 140) won 3 times with Nev winning twice.

Sad to see you go girls but I am sure we will see you all around in season 2 somewhere. Good luck to the Gremlins in season 2.

Ash (4x ton+) Cathy (2xton+), Connor (4x ton+ and a 140) and Paula (ton) all contributed. No doubt the Dragon players will be around in season 2. Good luck in the Finals to the Scorpions B team.

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 17

Premier League Grand Final

Strays vs Scorpions

Any final that fails to involve the Minor Premiers has to go down as a bit of a surprise but when you look at the quality in the Premier League generally, and this season’s top 4 in particular, you could not really rule out any combination as being a worthy Grand Final.  As it was Chermside played host the battle between the reigning champion Scorpions and a Strays side that has been improving season on season since they formed at the start of 2017.

The teams for the final were:
Strays: Dave, Jack, Ciaran & Banz
Scorpions: Brian M, Pat, Glen, Scotty & BA

Both opening games of doubles went to the deciding leg with the pairings of Dave & Jack and Glen & Scotty picking up wins for their sides.  These 4 players kept things going by winning their singles games in the first round to keep it locked up at 3-all.

The next round of singles saw Dave and Jack win again to push Strays ahead 5-3 and when Ciaran also got home he gave his side a 6-3 lead.  This was to be short lived as BA, showing real grit all night as the Scorpions singles specialist, narrowed the gap to two and then Scotty got them within one at 6-5.  Game 12 of the night put Dave up against Glen and from the first visit this was an absolute cracker.  Both players traded ton plus scores before Dave took out the first leg with 116 on double 18 for a 15 darter.  Glen hit straight back with a flurry of tons and a clean finish for a 17 darter to force a bull up and decider.  Dave threw first and maintained the high standard, taking the game in 19 darts. This seemed to be the turning point of the tie and a few games later Strays had opened up a 3 game lead at 9-6.

But nothing was easy at this stage of the match as the trebles and especially doubles seemed to be shrinking with every visit.  As it was it was Scorpions BA, Pat and Brian who held firm to level things up at 9-all with the doubles to come.  First up the pairing of Glen and Scotty gave Scorpions their first lead of the night but Ciaran and Banz were able to force the team game that this final really deserved.

After 14 weeks of league play and 2 weeks of finals it came down to sudden death 1001, four against four.  Strays started fast and all 4 of them hit a three-figure score to quickly opened up a sizable lead.   Scorpions were able to hold on but not really close the gap and when Banz was left with 24 points he was able to close it out with a dart into single 12 and then one into double 6.  It was over and their celebrations could begin.

Congratulations Strays, Premier League 2018 Season 1 champions and commiserations to Scorpions who came so close to going back-to-back.

Not only was this final decided by the narrowest of margins but an incredible 17 of the 20 regular games went to a deciding leg, all 4 of the doubles and 13 of 16 games of singles.  This was without a doubt the closest top flight final and a fitting end to a keenly contested season.

Finally, thanks to Pas, Aaron, Blags, Blades, Kingy, Gabe and Bob who came to watch and free the players up from chalking.

A GRADE Round 17 Full Ladder

Tossers 7 vs Scorpions “B” 14 Match Stats

A slow start for the B’s, despite losing all the doubles, kicked into gear winning 14 of 18 in the singles matches. A combined total of 55 ton+s thrown would indicate some really good darts all round. For the Scorpions, 3 wins each to John (6 ton+s), Shaun (3 tons) and Mick (6x tons). 2 wins and 9xton+ scores from Tristan while Grant added 2 wins and 5 big scores. The Tossers scooped the doubles however came up short in the singles matches despite some good darts. 2 wins each for Tracie (2 ton+s), Kiana (1 Ton), Alan (125) and Patrick (7 tons+ and 3×140’s).

Nemesis 11 vs Wildcats 10 Match Stats

A closely contended affair at the Brook saw the Nemesis just pip the Cats by 1 game. A slow start from the Nemesis team saw them down 7-2 after the first round of singles. But to their credit they fought back winning the 2nd & 3rd rounds of singles 9-3. Good effort that. For the Nems, 3 wins for Ian (6 tons) and 2 wins each for Ben (7 tons and a 140), Julie (1 ton), Neal (3 ton+s) and Brendan with 6x ton+s and a 140. A solid team effort. The Wildcats produced some good games with Lance winning 3 games (5 ton+ scores and a 105 peg). 2 wins each to Sharon (5 tons), Jen (2 ton+s), Nik (2 ton+s), Vickii (3 ton+s) and Gila. A very competitive match overall which could have gone either way, well done both teams.

Seagulls 14 vs Gremlins 7 Match Stats

A good night for the Seagulls here at the Brook tonight. Jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles, they were never headed after that. For the gulls, 4 wins to Gary (10 ton+ scores, a 120 peg out and an 18 dart leg), 3 wins each to Steve (5 ton+ scores) and Anthony (2 big scores). The Gremlins had an off night but 2 wins for Garry (3 ton+ scores) and Steve with a 17 dart leg and 4 tons, were the best on the night.

Nek Minit 9 vs Pinoy Darters 12 Match Stats

A preview to the final series saw Nek Minit and Pinoy face off at Chermside. Pinoys jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles, which proved to be the difference on the night, but had to battle hard to combat the ever-present Nek Minit team. For Pinoys, Roger lead the way with 4 wins (9 ton+ scores), Mel (7 ton+s) and Edgar (8 tons) both had 3 wins. High score for the Pinoy going to Bob with a 165. The Nek team really pushed hard in the singles with 3 wins for Shaun (10 ton+s and a 180), 2 wins each for Mark (5 big scores) and Daz (5 majors). Ben was on fire with 6 big scores and a 160. A tight match and both these teams will threaten in the finals.

Dragons 9 vs Javelins 12  Match Stats

Another close match saw the Jav’s getting over the line. 3 wins each for Peter (5 ton+s and a 180), Bryan (7 ton+ and 2x 140’s) and Luch (4 tons). With 5 ton+s and a 96 peg, Hugh was unlucky not to win 4 matches. For the Dragons, 4 wins for Connor including 3 tons and a 100 peg, led the way. Ben (4 ton=s), Rowie (3 ton+s) and Gavin (3 ton+s) all played well in support.

B GRADE Finals Week 2 Full Ladder

The Links 8 v Jockeys 7

Tonight we saw The Links and Jockeys fight off to see who would contest the Cannons in the Grand Final. True to form these long term rivals had a fierce competition right to the end, and we wouldn’t want it any other way! It was anyone’s game – and I’m sure everyone was holding their breath in the third round!

The Links started came out the gates firing, taking all 3 doubles wins – they were on a mission! They continued their stampede into the second round, but not until the Jockeys turned it around and won 6 straight singles to put them back in the game. Could they bring it home? Rupen took an important win in the third round, and all of a sudden, The Links only needed 1 more game to take the night and head to the GF. They’d have to work for it though, Ian, Gary and Clive took their wins in the third round in 2 legs so the Jockeys weren’t giving an inch! But it all game down to the last 2 games, Pieter v Brewster, and Antoinette v Patrick. Patrick took the win over Antoinette, so it was down to Pieter – and it even went down to the 3rd leg! But continuing his strong form throughout the season Pieter pegged it and The Links reign victorious!

Such a tight game though and the Jockey’s were right there!!!!

So now … the Cannons and The Links will meet once again for the GF. It’s bound to be a hell of a fight!
