BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 9

Premier League Round 9 Full Ladder

Raptors 9 Vs We’re On 11 Match Stats

Corey continues to show his class at BNSDC’s top level with another 6 from 6 performance, this time against the league leaders, throwing an 18 darter and 6 140s along the way.  Blades also chipped in with 4 wins and 2 140s.  Consistency has always been WO’s calling card and it was the same story this week with little to choose between the four of them:
Horse: 4 wins and a 140
Pas: 3 wins, 1 140, an 18 darter and a 104 peg
Aaron M: 3 wins, 3 140s, 2 18s and an 18 darter
Aaron W: 3 wins, 2 140s, a 119 peg

Peeping Toms 11 vs Dragoffs 9 Match Stats

The Toms pulled off the upset of the season with a nail-biting win by the narrowest of margins.  Dragoffs eased out to a 2-0 lead after the doubles and things looked ominous when they extended that to 5-1 early on.  The Toms kept hauling themselves back into the match until they finally took the lead by moving from 7-all to 9-7 up.  This two game lead proved top be decisive but it took the penultimate game of doubles to get them to 11 and secure the two league points.

This win, plus defeats of the other three sides in the bottom half sees the Toms go from 8th to 5th on the ladder, five points off the 4th finals berth.

Sam had his best performance of the season chalking up 5 wins, including all 4 of his singles, and hitting 3 140s and a 17 darter.  Ross, as always, in the thick of it with 4 wins (1 doubles, 3 singles) with 2 140s and an 18 darter.

A big effort in defeat from Rod who won 5 times (2 doubles, 3 singles) with Blags (3 140s) next best with 3 wins.  Max won twice and hit 2 140s, a 180 and a 130 peg.

Scorpions 16 vs Imports 4 Match Stats

A full strength Scorpions side, which this was, is a fearsome proposition and so it proved for Imports who went down 16 games to 4 at Chermside.

Nev pick of the Imports with 2 wins, doubles with James and a singles with 3 140s.  Singles wins also for Shane and Richard.

You can probably tell from the scoreline that all the Scorps had a big night…  Notable mentions go to BA, who played only in the singles and won all 4 with a 140 and a maximum; Scotty who won 5 from 5; and Brian who threw 4 140s and an 18 darters in his three victories.

Strays 13 vs Motley Mustang 7 Match Stats

Banz was away this week so the Strays were helped out by Ciaran’s mate Greg who contributed straight away with a doubles win.  From there it was the regulars who ensured the team kept up the pressure at the top of the table.  A fully-rested Dave showed what he can do with 6 wins from 6, 4 140s, a 100 peg and an 18 darter with 5 wins from Frosty who powered in 2 140s, a 180 and low games of 18 and 17 darts.  Ciaran rounded out the night with 4 wins, 4 140s and a 180.

All the Motleys contributed but it was not quite enough to come away with the points.  Glen (1 140), Willy (3 140s) and Stephen all won twice with Mick (2 140s) and Bruce (1 140) picking up a win each.

A GRADE Round 9 Full Ladder

Nek Minit 16 v Tossers 5 Match Stats

A great team effort by Nek Minit right across the board. With a big 6-0 win the second round of singles they sealed the night. 3 single wins 2-0 to Mark and Hilton, and supported throughout the team with 10 wins between them.

Despite their best efforts, the Tossers were outplayed here tonight by a stronger team effort. Great efforts by Patrick & Daniel 9 T+s, and Rob chipping in with 7 ton +s.

Pinoy Darters 13 v Nemesis 8 Match Stats

All the damage done early on by the Pinoy’s to lock it up after the second round of singles. 4 wins for Roger and only 7 ton+s tonight?? Great peg from Edgar of 114. A tough team to play as their consistency across the team is great – 32 t+’s & 9, 2-0 wins.

Tough night for Nemesis against a form team. Ian and Neal were the standouts with 3 wins and 9 ton+s each. A 116 peg for Neal as well. A fair scoreline against those guys.

Dragons 6 v Scorpions “B” 15 Match Stats

For one of the form teams of the grade, Scorpions B: 4 wins each for John, Tristan and Grant. 115 peg for Grant, great score of 174 for Shawn and a 19 dart leg and a 180 for John. Great darts right there.

A courageous effort by the Dragons:

Connor played very well for the Dragons winning 3 and a 2-1 loss in the fourth. 2 x 140’s and 10 other ton+s. A high score of 130 for David & a 121 for Ben.

A tough night for the Dragons but no disgrace going down to the B’s in top form at the moment.

Seagulls 15 v Javelins 6 Match Stats

Flying high at the moment, the Gulls, with another solid all round team effort. 4 wins for Gary and 11 ton +s while Nigel threw a 16 darter and 11 ton +s for 4 wins as well. Rudi, not to be outdone, smashed a 180 and had 3 wins.

Javelins didn’t seem to be able to get into it tonight but were not disgraced – Another top effort from Peter with 5 ton +s and 2 x 2-0 singles wins. No doubt this team will bounce back.

Wildcats 9 v Gremlins 12 Match Stats

What a great night was had by all …. the match was finally over about 2240hrs.

Unfortunately the Wildcats were a player short so rule 45c was put into play by agreeance of both captains.

A real close match, which started out well for the Gremlins winning all 3 doubles. Kylie did well on her own in the third doubles.

The first round of singles favoured the Gremlins 5-1. The second round was a great comeback by the girls to win all 6. So it was virtually down to the last singles to decide the night with Gremlins hanging on to win 12 games to 9.

Some great darts thrown which included:

For the Wildcats: 100 checkout for Kylie and a 16 dart game. An 18 darter by Shaz and 3 singles wins. 22 tones and over, for the team.

For the Gremlins: A 98 peg by Steve was nice to watch. 7 ton +s for Joe. 20 tons and up by the team. Was a great effort by the Gremlins with all contributing equally.

A long night but 14 games went the full distance 3-2.

B GRADE Round 9 Full Ladder

The Links 4 v Cannons 11 Match Stats

Well ladies and gentlemen, this was the game to see. The top 2 teams in B grade faced off for what was a much closer fight then the scores reflect. The Links still reign supreme as top of the ladder, but with the Cannons win this week, they are only 2 points away from leveling the playing field. Not to mention, the 2nd and 3rd are hotly contested themselves, so this is going to down to the wire. The Cannons showed up full strength, reserves, and some gunpowder- they were well and truly ready to roll. All was fairly even heading into the second round, and The Links made sure that the majority of wins did not go down in 2. And to be fair, the night was undecided until the middle of the 3rd round, but it was hotly contested all the way and The Links could easily have stormed back and taken the games in 2nd and 3rd rounds. But it wasn’t to be. The Links had some strong performances, Nicky – 6 T+ scores incl 180 & 2 wins, Bev with a stellar 9 T+ scores, Rupen and Yash with a pair of tonnes each. On the Cannons side, Mike had a great night, 7 T+ scores & 3 wins, Graham with a classy 2 T+s and 2 wins, Jason with a steady 3 tons and 2 wins. These teams will face each other off one more time before the final, what will the result be next time?

Jockeys 12 v Mitchelton Mustangs 3 Match Stats

Well haven’t the Jockeys kept up their strong form with a solid win over the Mustangs 12 v 3. They came strong out the gate taking all 3 doubles games in the first round, and followed it up with 4/6 wins in the first singles round. The Mustangs took their first win middle of the second round thanks to Lindsey, and Nik followed it up to keep the Mustangs in the game, but alas it was all over in game 1, round 3. The Jockeys would take all singles games in the third round bar one! Good on you Nik, can’t let them have them all can we? Fantastic effort by all team members of the Jockeys – every member took a game win. Ultra classy performance as always by Newty and Ben, both with 8 T plus scores, 3 wins.  The Mustangs brought their sharp shooters for the night – Lindsey with a solid 7 T plus scores. The Jockey’s were too strong this time, but let’s see if the Mustangs can bounce back!

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 8

Premier League Round 8 Full Ladder

Scorpions 15 vs Peeping Toms 5 Match Stats

The five Scorpions piled up the wins and put themselves in second place on the ladder after We’re On ended Strays unbeaten run.

Glen won all 5 of his games with Brian (4 140s) and Scott (2 140s and a 107 peg) winning 4 times.  Bob had the best leg of the match with an 18 darter.

Three of the Toms picked up two wins on the night: Ross (2 140s) and Sam (1 140 and a 180) both won a doubles and a singles while Justin (3 140s) won two of his singles.

Dragoffs 11 vs Raptors 9 Match Stats

A cracker at Chermside which could really have ended in any of the three possible results.  With the match poised at 4-all Dragoffs pushed out to a 9-5 lead but it’s worth noting that the home side won 4 of those games in the deciding leg.  Even when they were on the brink the Raptors kept fighting, hauling themselves into contention at 10-8 down with the doubles to come.  Sadly the comeback fell short as Carlos (3 wins, 1 140) and Gabe (3 wins, 4 140s) stayed strong to grab the two league points that keeps them securely in 4th on the ladder.

The two remaining Dragoffs worthy of a mention with Blags winning 3 but Max best of the bunch with 4 wins and a massive seven 140s!

Once again Corey untouchable with 6 wins from 6, 3 140s, 2 180s and a 16 darter and Blades showing real Premier League class with 4 wins.  Nothing wrong with Dinga’s scoring as he fired in 3 140s and 2 180s.

We’re On 11 Vs Strays 9 Match Stats

We’re On ended Strays unbeaten start to the season with an 11-9 win at Mitchy FC.  As was the case earlier in the season the reigning minor premiers went out to a useful lead but this time they were able to close it out for the win that keeps them top of the table.

Aaron M threw good darts all night with 5 wins, 4 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter plus back to back 17 darters.  Horse fired in 8 140s and a 15 darter and Pas a 140 and a 15 darter with both men winning three times.

For Strays Frosty and Ciaran (7 140s, 16 darter) both won 4 times.  Dave, coming straight from the airport after a day working down in Melbourne, hit 3 140s, a 180 and low games of 18 and 17 darts before running out of steam.

Motley Mustangs 12 vs Imports 8 Match Stats

This result keeps things super tight in the lower half of the table with the bottom 4 teams separated by only a point.  With 6 weeks to go any one of them could make a push for finals contention but they will probably need to make a move soon.

Putting future events aside, this was a great win for the Motleys thanks in no small part to the efforts of Mick who won 5 from 5 and banged in 2 140s.  Willy also played a huge role with 4 wins from 5 and 2 140s.

Nev won 4 from 5 with 1 140 and Shane three times with 2 140s and the best finish of the night, a very tidy 122.

A GRADE Round 7 Full Ladder

Scorpions 18 vs Tossers 3 Match Stats

A big win for the B’s at home. John Ives showed his class with 3 wins, a 156, 18 darts and 16 dart games and 5 other ton up scores. Good darts for a Pom!!! All players seemed to strut their stuff on the night with Mr Hill winning 4 games, Shaun with a 160 and 3 wins, Grant determined as ever with 4 wins and 9 big scores, Tristan on song with 4 wins and 7 biggies and Joe helping out with 2 wins and 6 tons. An all-round sound team performance and will be hard to topple.

Poor old Tossers were put to the sword by a team on fire on the night. 23 Ton +’s by the team and highlighted by a win each to Patrick,9 big ones, Rob with 6 high scores and Daniel with 6 of the best.

Pinoy Darters 10 vs Nek Minit 11 Match Stats

Wow what a game of darts this must have been….the scorers and scribes were flat out by the looks of it. 81 tons or better from 2 evenly matched teams on the night.

For the Pinoy team Roger stood out again with 4 wins, a 180, an 18 dart leg and 15 other ton + scores. Great darts Roger. Other good games by Mel, 10 tons, Dom with 6 tons and 2 wins. A great first set of singles taking all 6 games but losing the second set by 5… oopsi….and then had to try and hold off a surge by Nek’s in the last set.

A game of two halves by Nek Minit saw a see-sawing affair in the first two singles rounds. A great fight back in the final singles just got it done. Daz had a 110 peg while Shaun pipped him with a 120 check out. Both top shots. All round a great team performance with 40 ton +s.  Mark & Danny with 8, Ben and Shaun with 7, Hilton and Daz with 5, while Ngawai was too busy keeping score it would appear!!!

Great round of darts by both teams.

Javelins 15 vs Dragons 6 Match Stats

Javelins jumped out of the blocks with 3-0 in the doubles and then 4 and 5 sets in the singles to seal the night. Peter continues to impress with 4 wins, a 180, and 7 other big scores. Tony chimed in with 3 singles wins while Luch and Brian had 2 wins each. A good solid match by the looks of it.

So it was the Paula and Connor show for the Dragons…. 6 ton +s and 2 wins for Paula while Connor smashed in 7 big scores and 3 x 2 nil singles wins. Mark had a 174 – well done, and Ben 3 big ones. Hard to overcome a solid team performance by the Jav’s though.

Gremlins 4 vs Seagulls 17  Match Stats

The gulls to strong tonight with a very sound win. 2 X 6-0 singles certainly put paid to any chance for the Gremlins. Standouts were Nigel with 11 ton+ scores and 4 wins, Christian with 8 x ton + scores and 4 wins, Gary had 3 wins and 7 biggies and Rudi chimed in with 8 ton + scores.

Gremlins were well off their best against a strong team here and did well not to lose by more. Steve had a night out with 8 tons but still couldn’t win a game…. Tough games. The newest member of the Gremlins, Garry seemed to fit in fairly well and will be an asset to the team in the future. Terry, in his only singles game of the night, had 4 tons and most importantly, defeated Anthony 2-0. Was a good night but for the result for the Gremlins.

Wildcats 9 vs Nemesis 12 Match Stats

Nemesis were down after the doubles but took 8 out of first 12 games of singles for a three game margin which they held until the end.  It was a solid team performance that got the job done from Nemesis but Ian (6 tons a 140) and Neil (3 tons) led the way with three wins apiece.  Two wins each for Ben (4 tons), Brendan (4 tons) and Alena.

For Wildcats Kylie again best of the lot with 4 wins and 4 tons with two wins for Nikki and Shaz, who hit 11 tons along the way.

B GRADE Round 7 Full Ladder

Cannons 7 v Wanderers 8 Match Stats

And the Wanderers finally come away with a win! Better late than never. This game was fought down to the last dart in the last game, with both teams at 7 v 7 and the last game went to 3 legs! There was a few nerves about! What a showstopper! Graham had a cracker night, 3 wins (both singles in 2) with a 140 and 2 tonnes. So did life member Snow, with his 3 wins and also both singles in 2. Lance and Gary had a solid night with 4 tonnes for the night, so the fight was on! The Wanderers came home with the goods thought and scoring the 2 points. Can they do it again?

The Links 8 v Jockeys 7 Match Stats

B Grade was definitely the place to be for some firecracker matches this week! The Jockeys fronted up to The Links prepared to deprive them of the chance to extend their lead in first place. And boy was it close! The Links kept their number one place though in B Grade after this round, and still proving to be top contenders for final season! The Jockeys got off to a great start though taking the first 2 doubles games, and followed with another quick 3 wins in the second round. Newty had a killer night taking his doubles, and the following 2 singles – what a champion! And Thommo helped the Jockeys advance with 4 tonnes including a 140, and the all important 2 wins including the first game in the third round. However, after that The Links come out with a vengeance! 4 wins went to father and son Kruger, with Rupen and Ben to follow. Newty kept The Jockeys in the fight, but it would come down to the last game between Ben and Brewster. The Links were just too good on the night, taking the 2 points and retaining their premiership position. Come on B Grade? Who’s going to take the 2 points from these guys?

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 7

Premier League Round 7 Full Ladder

Imports 6 vs We’re On 14 Match Stats

Imports fielded their strongest lineup thanks to the return of Richard and Nev and got a few early wins on the board to keep the score at 3-all.  From there the league leaders stretched away by winning 11 of the next 13 games of singles.

Motley Mustangs 3 vs Peeping Toms 17 Match Stats

The Toms with Kingy in their side have more strength and depth and they showed that at Mitchy FC with a thumping 17-3 win over the Motley Mustangs.

The home team spread the wins around with one singles each for Glen (a 140 and a 180) and Willy (2 140s) and a doubles win for Michael (a 180) & Stephen.  For the visitors it was indeed Kingy who led the way with 6 from 6 and three 140s.  All the Toms had a good night though with five wins for both Ross (4 140s) and Sam with Tim winning 4 times with 2 140s and a maximum in the mix.

Corey once again untouchable with 6 wins from 6 , six 140s and a 180 with 4 wins for Blades, who hit a 140 and a 180.  Dinga (3 140s) won twice but threw much better than that and regularly found a big score or a 50+ peg when he needed it.

Dave was top stray with 4 wins and a massive night of scoring with 7 140s and 2 180s.  Three wins each Jack (3 140s) and Ciaran (a 180).

Scorpions 18 vs Dragoffs 2 Match Stats

The Dragoffs picked the wrong night for an off night, going down 18-2 to Scorpions.  Gabe picked up their only two wins and hit 4 140s and a 16 darter.

Six from six for both Brian (3 140s, an 18 darter) and Scotty (4 140s and a 180) and five from six for Rod (3 140s and an 18 darter) and Bobby who ticked all four of the boxes with 2 140s, a 180, a 106 peg and a 15 darter.

A GRADE Round 7 Full Ladder

It’s what we want in A Grade, we want it interesting at the top and interesting at the bottom, and that is what happened this week. The teams dug deep and took some real pressure doubles taking games to the wire with 4 out of 5 games had a one point difference.

Seagulls 10 vs Nek Minit 11 Match Stats

Nek Minit took a 2-1 lead going into the singles, only to lose the next round 2-4, bringing the score to 4-5 to Seagulls. Nek Minit took out the next round 4-2 and held a slender lead going into the final round. Heading into a tight round, it started with Gary and Mark, with Gary picking up the one points for Seagulls to even the score. Hilton stepped up to the oche to take the win and then backed up by Ngawai picking up a crucial win against Christian. Seagulls came back with Banger sneaking a win off Daz and Nigel against Ben, the score was now all tied up. It turned out to be a show stopper between Shaun and Drew. Shaun took the first leg, Drew the second with the win eventually going to Shaun giving Nek Minit the win. Daz hit 140 and eight tons, Danny 140, Hilton 140 and 3 wins. Gary won 3 games, scored 2 140s and 5 tons, Drew 7 tons 2 wins. Banger with 6 tons and 2 wins and Nigel 140, 2 tons and 2 wins.

Gremlins 13 vs Nemesis 8 Match Stats

Gremlins picked up a home win on Wednesday night which started with a double wins for Ian and Steve and Jack and Terry. The next two rounds where pretty even with both team scoring 3-3. Going into the last round the score was 7-8 to Gremlins.  The Gremlins put the accelerator down and kicked up a gear to pick up 5 points to lead them home.  Ian scored the maximun wins for the night, 2 140s and 3 tons helped along with Jack scoring 2 140s, 2 wins and a 118 check out. For Nemesis Don also picked up maximum wins for the night, while Brendan hit 140 and 6 tons and a win each for Wes and Ian. A quiet night for Alena and Ben.

Wildcats 11 v Javelins 10 Match Stats

Did you hear that roar coming from the Brook on Wednesday night, that’s right the Wildcats have picked up their first win!  It got off to a flyer for the Wildcats leading 3-0 going into the singles. With the 2nd round won by the Wildcats it was handy 7-2 lead, it was going to be a mighty battle if the Javelins were going to win this game. Going into round 3 Javelins won 4-2 still the Wildcats were leading 9-6. The  last round was a pressure cooker Wildcats only needed 2 wins to walk away with the 2 points. Hugh and Pete picked up the first two wins, to now be one point behind, Vickii took her game to 3 legs and managed to come away with the win against Max. Keith then won the 4th game against Shaz but it wasn’t enough as Kylie sealed the win for the Wildcats. Pete hit 180, a massive 15 tons and 3 wins, while Kylie and Vickii each won four games.

Tossers 11 v Dragons 10  Match Stats

Another Chermside derby with the newly promoted Tossers up against their Chermside brothers the Dragons. Tossers got off to a good start going 2-1 up in the doubles, only to lose the next round which gave a slight lead to Dragons 5-4. Going into round 3 only Paula and Mark picked up wins for the Dragons which then handed the lead back to Tossers 8-7. The last round started with Tracy picking up a win against Cathy, then Paula beating Daniel and Ben beating Alan. Ever reliable Rob, who hit 140 and 10 tons for the night, scored a win to take his team to 10 and needing 1 point for the win. Connor and Kiana went to 3 legs with Connor picking up the point to even up the score 10 apiece. That left Paddy and Chaddo on the decider. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Chaddo’s night with Paddy coming away with the win. Paddy and Rob got the maximum wins, Daniel checked out on 112 and even did a 74 check out on the bull.  While Connor hit 140 and 11 tons, Mark hit 140 and 8 tons.

Pinoy Darters 10 v Scorpions “B” 11 Match Stats

Nobody was sure which way this was going to end.  It wasn’t going to be convincing win either, but the winner would have needed to work hard to take away the 2 points. There  was 102 tons thrown that night which included 180s by Joe, John Ives and Leo, Roger hit 18 tons, John Ives and Tristian hit 13 tons. I hate to see what that board looked like after that. What a massive achievement. Let’s get into the game, it started off with Scorpions going into the singles with a 2-1 lead before the lead changed in the next round with Mel, Roger, Bob and Leo picking up 4 wins. Heading into round 3 John Ives, John Hill, Joe and Tristan hit back and picked up 4 p which gave Scorpions a slender one point lead going into the last round.  Pinoy started the round with 3 wins to take them to 10 points and only needed one more in the next 3 games, but true to form John Hill, Joe and Grant dug deep and brought it home for the Scorpions. It was a good night and with some great darts thrown. Tristian high peg 158 and a 16 dart leg.

B GRADE Round 7 Full Ladder

The Links 12 v Wanderers 3 Match Stats

Well the Wanderers rocked up ready to redeem themselves from the last loss to The Links but it wasn’t to be! The Links again showed how strong they are and what contenders they are for the finals. Home side got off to a good start with 2 doubles wins but Christian and Lance got the Wanderers in the game with their doubles win. The Links followed up strong with 5 singles wins in the 2nd round, and another 5 in the last. Special shout out to Pieter with a stellar 3 wins and 3 tonnes, and Yash with 3 and 3 as well! Snow Royal made sure to take a leg off sharp shooter Nicky in the last round but The Links would prevail and bring home their win securely.

Cannons 11 v Mitchelton Mustangs 4 Match Stats

The Cannons are on a rroll! Are they going to be top contenders as well for the finals? Cannons had a great night with 11-4 against sharp shooters Mitchie Mustangs. They kicked off with a bang taking all double wins – BAM! And followed it up with a handy 3 more in the second round. Mustangs didn’t go down easy though, the lads stepped up to the plate and fought hard for their 3 wins in the singles round. Great performance from Richo (2 wins, 4 tonnes) cool under pressure as always. Shout out to some stand out performances from the Cannons – Jason with one hundred and eighhhhhhhtttyy (and 3 wins to back it up), and 3 straight wins for Alan and Mike! Way to go Cannons – look out The Links!

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 6

Premier League Round 6 Full Ladder

Scorpions 8 vs We’re On 12 Match Stats

This one would be the top flight’s biggest clash at the moment: first versus second in the league which just happens to be last year’s minor premiers versus the overall champions.

Both teams had similar records coming in but it was WO who started quickest going out to 7-1 lead.  It would be crazy to write of either of these sides and when Scorpions got the deficit down to 8-6 with the last round of singles to come it looked like going to the wire.  The visitors had other ideas however and won 3 from 4 to get over the line with the doubles to spare.

BA in great form with 4 wins from 5 including all 3 of his singles.  He also put a tick in every box with 2 140s, a 180, a 15 darter and a 134 peg.  Next best Scorpion was Glen (2 wins, 3 140s) while Scotty hit a 16 darter.

None better on the night than Pas (3 140s) with his 5 wins although Aaron W not for behind with 4 wins and 6 140s.  Three time winners were Aaron M (2 140s) and John (2 14s and 18 & 17 dart legs).

Motley Mustangs 9 vs Dragoffs 11 Match Stats

This was a match where both sides grabbed games in bunches and the end result was that neither could really take control.  In the end it cam down to the doubles with Dragoffs holding a slender 10-8 lead.  This became 10-9 thanks to the efforts of Willy (4 wins, 2 140s) and Stephen (4 wins, 1 140, 1 180) before Dragoffs finally secured the 2 league points courtesy of Carlos (a best on show 5 wins, 4 140s, 2 180s, an 18 darter) and Gabe (4 wins, 1 140) while Blags won twice hitting 3 140s and a 180.

Peeping Toms 10 vs Raptors 10 Match Stats

A staggering 13 of the 16 games of singles went to the deciding leg so both sides probably feel they had the chance to win it.  The Raptors held 5-2 and 8-6 leads before the Toms picked up 4 of the last 5 to get to 10-9 ahead.  It was fitting that the last game of doubles should go to the deciding leg and it was Corey and Mark who nicked it to earn a share of the points.

Ross (3 140s and an 18 darter) and Sam (5 140s) picked up 4 wins each and Justin (4 140s and a 180) three.

Corey’s continues to show he’s one of the best throwers in the comp with a doubles win, 4 singles wins hitting 4 140s, 2 180s, a 171 and a 102 peg.  Mark won 3 times and hit 3 140s.

Strays 13 vs Imports 7 Match Stats

The Strays were one short on the night and were grateful to Ben from Nek Minit who agreed to step up and give it a crack.  His contribution in the doubles ensured that it was 1-1 heading into the singles and at this point the home team put the foot down and powered to a 5-1 lead and never looked back.

Shane (7 140s and a 180) and Matt (1 40 and an 18 darter) both won 4 times for Imports.

For Strays Dave won 5 times and hit 5 140s and a 180 with 4 wins each for Jack, 2 140s, and Banz, 3 140s, an 18 darter and 2 110 pegs.

A GRADE Round 6 Full Ladder

Tossers 7 v Pinoy Darters 14 Match Stats

Another derby encounter this week, derby matches are always intense affairs within shared premises and this was no difference. It was always going to be one of the matches of the season with both tons machines going hard, but of course it was dependent on where the Captains play you. It didn’t happen until the last round with Rob and Roger going head to head. Taking it to three legs it was eventually Rob who was impressive and came up with the point, unfortunately it wasn’t enough to pick up the two points for the team.

Roger was steady as always, hitting a massive three 140s, two 121s, 12 tons, 19 dart leg and high peg 74, this was a brilliant individual performance. Mel is finding his form with four wins and one 140, and 8 tons. Edgar and Dom (one 140) also notched up four wins for the night ot make a solid performance by the Pinoy Darters. Rob with 120, 125, five tones, 3 wins and 18 dart keg was also a massively impressive performance. Paddy knocking three 140s and Daniels 108 check out, certainly made entertaining games to watch.

Scorpions “B” 10 v Seagulls 11 Match Stats

Matches this season have been so close with several games so far being won by one point, this reflects how close the competition is going to be in this division. The top of the table clash between Seagulls and Scorpions lived up to all expectations. The two sides went head to head and toe to toe for some fiercely contested matches of which there was never more than 1 point between them after each round. The win will see the Seagulls remain unbeaten and move to the top of the ladder. Making life awkward for his opponents was Drew collecting four wins from four and Gary three wins out of four. While on the other side John hit seven tons, Tristian and Grant each hit 10 tons and all picked up three wins under their belt or are they shorts?

Nek Minit 17 v Wildcats 4 Match Stats

The Wildcats struggling season continues and yet on preivous weeks they have come so close. On this occasion however it was a one-sided affair with Nek Minit going along doing their business. Shaun’s eight tons, Mark’s  five tons and Hilton’s four tons each picked up the maximum wins for the night. While Danny assisted with his three wins.

Kylie hit the highest peg out for the night with treble 20, 14, double tops. Great effort and nice to watch. While the girls couldn’t fire Nikki still managed six tons, Kylie five 100+s.

Nemesis 7 v Javelins 14  Match Stats

Nemesis held a very slender lead of a solitary point going into round 2. A controlled performance by Javelins saw them come up with the win and 2 points. Pete, Bryan’s with five 100+s, and Max provided dominance with three out of four wins that put the game beyond doubt. A solid performance by the whole team. Nemesis were unlucky at times as they battled hard with multiple singles games going to a third leg decider. Nemesis not up to their usual standard still provided highlights by Dons six tons, 140 and Brendan three wins for the night.

Gremlins 12 v Dragons 9 Match Stats

The Gremlins picking up their first win for the season provided a steady performance that will provide confidence going forward. Alex scored maximum four wins for the night and Terry three. They should both been satisfied with their standard of darts as well as the new team coming together. The Dragons after winning two out of the three doubles matches couldn’t capitalise on the singles round, still Connor managed to hit a 17-darter game to make his presence felt as well as scoring two 140s. Mark also hit two 140s and Cathy with one 140.

B GRADE Round 6 Full Ladder

Jockeys 10 v Wanderers 5 Match Stats

Cracking night had by all at West Mitchie for this game. Historically, the Jockeys routinely come out on top out of this match up but the Wanderers normally steal 5 matches, and tonight was no different. Both Pat and Ian had a great night, winning all of their matches. Lance and Dave won their 2 matches of the night and helped to avoid the Wanderers getting a pantsing. Notable mentions to Gary (2 x 140s and a win), Lance (115, 105, T and 2 wins), Christian (“Christine”)(T, 114) getting stronger every game, and Tim taking the last game of the night in 2 legs – another Wanderer climbing the ranks. Fun was had by all, but Jockeys were too strong on the night and sealed a solid 10 v 5 win. Well done Jockeys!

Mitchelton Mustangs 5 v The Links 10  Match Stats

The Links are continuing to prove themselves and hold top rank in the B Grade so far this year. They started out strong, taking 2 doubles wins (Ben & Antoinette, Rupen & Pieter) and followed up strongly in the second round with 4 solid wins. The Mustangs killer combo Graham and Richo took their double, and went on to take wins again in the second round, but The Links were on a roll and took the win early in the third round. Special mention to Richo and Pieter taking all 3 game wins on the night. Shout out to Nik with a 171 – what a legend! And Graham with a 111 finish, close to top peg 116 off Pat Wilson’s from the Jockeys, but not enough to take the lead just yet! Great night for Rupen also with a solid 6 tonnes and 2 wins.

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 5

Premier League Round 5 Full Ladder

Scorpions 12 vs Motley Mustangs 8 Match Stats

The final scoreline makes this look a bit closer than it actually was for most of the night. The Scorps started quickly and scuttled out to a 7-1 lead early on and got to a match winning advantage with the Motleys back on 4 games.  The visitors should definitely gain confidence from their late surge of 4 games from 5 against their very strong opponents.

The Motleys wins were spread around with Glen (4 140s), Michael (2 140sand a 102 peg), Willy (a 140, a 180 and a 100 peg) and Stephen (2 140s and a 100 peg) all picking up two.

Birthday boy Brian, who tells me he was celebrating his 72nd, continues to show that age is no barrier when you’re good enough by picking up 5 wins on the night.  Happy birthday mate!  Scotty also won 5 times and continued to score heavily with 6 140s and 114 peg as well.  Notable stuff also from Glen hit 3 140s, a 108 peg and a 17 darter.

We’re On 13 vs Peeping Toms 7 Match Stats

We’re On too strong for the Toms despite new signing Justin (2 wins, 4 140s) making a welcome return to the Norths Premier League.  But it was Ross who led the Toms’ win count with 3 while Tim hit a 120 peg.

Horse untouchable for WO with 6 wins on the night while Aaron M (4 wins and a 17 darter) continued to smash the treble 20 with a monstrous 9 140s and two 180s.  Pas the other 4 time winner with 3 140s and a 128 peg.

Dragoffs 5 vs Strays 15 Match Stats

A second Chermside derby for Strays and their unbeaten start to the season is maintained with a solid win over last year’s runners up.

Ciaran’s family were on hand to watch him power to 6 wins from 6 with the loss of only one leg, in the doubles no less.  This was his best performance of the season with 4 140s and low games of 15 and 18 darts.  Dave (5 140s) won 5 times and Frosty showed a hint of what he’s capable of with 4 wins, 4 140s, 2 180s and low games of 14 and 16 darts.  Banz hit a 180.

Also notable in this game was how often the darting gods dangled the carrot of big finishes only to lash out with the stick of missed doubles.  Max missed into the 25 on a 170 and double 16 for a 147, Dave missed double 16 for a 152, Banz missed double 16 for a 146 and Jack hurting the most with misses on double 10 for a 140, and shots also at 143 and 133.

Imports 9 vs Raptors 11 Match Stats

This one was neck and neck all the way to 8-all before Raptors won the last two games of singles to open a 10-8 lead with the doubles to come.  Daral (4 wins, 2 140s) and Mark (4 wins, 3 140s and a 180) got them over the line for the first win of the season.  Corey won all 4 of his singles and hit 3 140s.

For Imports Shane leading the way with three wins, a 140 and a 15 darter with Nev close behind with 3 circles.

A GRADE Round 5 Full Ladder

Nemesis 9 v Tossers 12 Match Stats

It was a spirited battle between the Tossers and Nemesis with some great darts thrown. It was going to be a team effort to take the 2 points with the score being 8-7 to the Tosser going into the last round. While both teams battled it out, it was Rob’s 10 tons, 4 wins, Paddy 9 tons and 3 wins and Daryl 7 tons and 3 wins that helped seal the deal for the Tossers.

For Nemesis, Brendan notched up 3 wins, Neal banged in a 140 and 7 tons while Ben, Ian (5tons) and Don picked up 2 wins each.

Wildcats 6 v Seagulls 15 Match Stats

The Seagulls protected their home fort with a commanding triumph over the Wildcats in the local Brook Derby.

Gary was red hot on the oche as he blazed past all those in his path claiming 4 wins and putting on a show with his 9 tons for the night. Rudi (8tons) high pegged 100 with a double seagull. Drew (10 tons) and Steve (6tons) each picked up 3 wins. Nigel also knocked in 9 tons.

There was perfection on the other side with a stable performance by Kylie who also claimed 4 wins and 10 tons for the night.

Dragons 7 v Nek Minit 14 Match Stats
At a crowded house at Chermside the local derby was about to begin between the Dragons and Nek Minit. It was an impressive win for Nek Minit with Danny stepping up to the oche to record his first BNSDC maximum he also backed it up with 3 wins. Mark picked up 4 wins against Dave C who he played all night.  Daz also picked up 4 wins, Hilton and Ben scored 7 tons each and 2 wins.

Cathy played well taking all her singles matches into deciders and picked up 5tons and a win. Gav, Rowey and Connor won 2 games each.

Scorpions “B” 16 v Javelins 5  Match Stats

The Scorpions with a comfortable win remain unbeaten to stay at the top of the A grade ladder.

It was a one-sided affair where the Scorpions won the doubles and dominated the rest of the evening. Shaun (7tons), Joe (5tons), Darryl (4tons, 140), Tristian (9tons, 140) and Grant (10tons, 2×140) each won 4 games. Grant playing like a top seed also high pegged 105.

For Javelins, it was a quiet night, but Pete managed to notch up 3 wins. I’m sure they will bounce back.

Pinoy Darters 14 v Gremlins 7 Match Stats

It ended up one-sided showpiece after round 1 between the Pinoy Darts and Gremlins. With a slow start in the doubles for Pinoy Darters they were able to overcome this hurdle and come away with the 2 points.  Roger with his consistent ton tally managed 14 and 3 wins. Mel, Dom and Edgar all notched up 3 wins each as well.

Gremlins were asked to work significantly harder to secure any wins. Jack contributed to his ton tally with 2x140s and 2×100, he is certainly an upcoming young talent.  Steve picked up a couple of wins and 6 tons.

B GRADE Round 5 Full Ladder

Cannons 8 v The Links 7 Match Stats

What a hotly contested night this game was! It all came down to the last game of the night, where Neil’s win sealed the victory for the Cannons but The Links were bringing the fight all night. Cannons got off to a good start taking 2 wins in the first round, but The Links fought back in the first round of singles to be within striking distance of the win. The third round was fought hard with only one game going down in 2 legs, so we know The Links weren’t going down without a fight. Great to see such a fire cracker of a game!

Special mentions to Alan and Tom taking all 3 wins on the night. Shout out to high scores of the night Jason (140), Gary (140, 160), Yash (135) and Nicky (135).

Can’t wait to see this match up again later in the season.

Mitchelton Mustangs 4 v Jockeys 11  Match Stats

And the Jockeys came back in fine form tonight! The Mustangs would come flying out the gate, with 2 doubles wins but the Jockeys all but sealed their victory taking all matches in the 2nd round. Special mention to Patrick with a fiery 116 peg, who’s now taken the lead for highest peg in B Grade year to date!

Special mention to Richard with a 180 on the night, and a further 3 T+ scores to back it up, and Lindsey for his solid 4 tonnes for the night. Unfortunately the Jockeys were just too strong, coming home strong in the third round winning 11 matches overall to the Mustangs 4. Well done lads!

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 4

Premier League Round 4 Full Ladder

Club Chermside was a Premier League Thunderdome where 4 unbeaten teams entered and time would tell how many would leave with their records intact.  But first…

Raptors 7 vs Motley Mustangs 13 Match Stats

These two teams were chasing their first win of 2018 and it was the visitors who grabbed the two points in large part thanks to winning the first two rounds of singles 6 games to 2.   They actually pushed this 4 game lead to a 6 game victory and were good value for the win.

Stephen is finding his form again after time abroad without his darts, picking up 4 from 4 in singles and 1 in the doubles for 5 wins on the night.  He hit 4 140s, a 180 and nice 126 checkout.  Glen, who hit a 174, and Willy (2 140s) each picked up 4 wins in the Mustangs best performance of the season.

Corey shining as always with 5 wins and 4 140s and strong support for Mark who won three times and hit 3 140s and a 107 peg.

Imports 12 vs Peeping Toms 8 Match Stats

Imports were too strong for the Toms despite the visiting skipper’s heroics.  No 140+ scores for Ross but that didn’t stop him winning 6 from 6 and hitting a 126 peg and a 17 darter.  Sam also in the winner’s circle 3 times with 2 140s.

A really solid team effort for Imports:
Nev: 4 wins and 2 140s
Matt: 4 wins, 1 140 and a 120 peg
James: 3 wins
Shane: 3 wins, 2 140s and a 180

Dragoffs 5 vs We’re On 15 Match Stats

The doubles were shared early on but this was as close as Dragoffs got as We’re On peeled off the first 9 games of singles to effectively end the contest and the home side’s unbeaten start to the season.

Carlos leading the way for Dragoffs with 3 wins, 3 140s and a 180 with Max picking up 2 wins on his return to the comp.  Blags won once and delighted the home fans with a 15 darter and an even 100 peg.

Aaron M in sparkling form with 6 wins from 6, 6 140s, a 180 and hatful of 20 darters.  John also shining with 5 wins, a 104 peg and low games of 16 and 18 darts.  Three wins each for Pas (3 140s) and Aaron W (5 140s).

Strays 10 vs Scorpions 10 Match Stats

Strays were chasing their first ever win against Scorpions and it looked on the cards at various points throughout the evening.  A 2-0 Strays lead in the doubles pushed out to 8-4 at one stage but a strong Scorpions line up found wins at the back end to keep themselves in the hunt.  Even so Strays held a two game advantage with the doubles to come but they were hauled level in two deciding leg thrillers which could have gone either way.  This draw means there are still three unbeaten teams in the competition at this early stage.

Two players from each side picked up four wins.  Strays Dave (2 140s and an 18 darter) and Banz (3 140s and a 180) and Scorps Scotty (3 140s, a 180 and a 17 darter) and Pat (2 140s).  Ciaran won 3 times with 3 140s and a 180 while Glen hit a 17 darter amongst his 2 wins.

A GRADE Round 4 Full Ladder

Scorpions “B” 13 v Gremlins 8 Match Stats

Scorpions B maintaining their 100% record move ahead on the ladder with a victory over the home team, Gremlins.  The continual good form from Tristan’s scoring a maximum 180, 2×140 and 3 wins contributed as did Grant 4 wins and Darryl and el Presidente with 3 wins each, to put the game beyond doubt.
Terry and Steve from Gremlins picked up 3 wins for the night, but it was the high pegging from Joe – 123 and Steve – 135 that brought entertaining action.

Nek Minit 14 v Javelins 7 Match Stats

This was a closer game than the results suggest.  Nek Minit finding some form secured a win for the night. Ben played well all night and would be happy with his 4 wins and 9 tons. Good performance from Mark (3 wins) hitting a 18 dart leg and Danny (3 wins) a 19 dart leg.
For Javelins, Pete had a solid game with 3 wins 6 tons and Bryan who knocked in a 119 check out.
Seagulls 11 v Pinoy Darters 10 Match Stats
The Seagulls are heading in the right direction with an exciting game from beginning to end and could have gone either way. Sitting on equal wins at the top of the ladder, the Seagulls knew this was not going to be an easy task. Going 2-1 up in the doubles, the next 3 rounds were 3-3, 3-3 and 3-3, which in the end that 1 point made the difference. Gary with a stable performance was in fine form for his team with 4 wins and 9 tons. Drew’s 4×140 and 4×100 contributed to his ton tally as did Steve 7 tons, 140 and Christian 8 tons.
It was open war on the triple 20 for Pinoy Darters with Mel (3 wins) knocking in 14 and Roger (3 wins) 11. Leo helped notch up 3 wins for his team. Pinoy Darters pushed the Seagulls all the way and made for an entertaining evening.

Nemesis 13 v Dragons 8  Match Stats

Nemesis, on home soil, have notched up their first win for the season against the Dragons. Leading 9-6 going into the last round it was going to be tough ask of the Dragons to come back, but to their credit the Dragons, captained by Cathy, fought back to take the next 2 games with the score at 9-8 before Nemesis extended their lead to eventually take the win.
It was Ian who picked up the pace for Nemesis with a maximum 180, 105 high peg and a 18 dart leg. Chipping in also was Ben and Brendan both winning 4 from 4.
For Dragons it was 3 from 3 for Gav and Connor helped his ton tally with 7 tons and a 140.

Tossers 11 v Wildcats 10 Match Stats

A great game here went right to the wire before giving a result in a match that could have gone either way. Wildcats kicked off the first round with a 2-1 lead then 4-5 but it was the Tossers who bounced back to go one up in the next round. Rob had a standard night producing 3 wins, 8 tons and 100 high peg. Daniel hit 140 and 8 tons, not to forget Kiana smashing a 140 in for good measures.
For the Wildcats, Kylie won 4 out of 4 and Vickii, 3 wins and 7 tons, but it was Shaz that knocked it out of the ball park with her 180 maximum. It was a close game again it could have gone either way.  The Wildcats will be out on the prowl looking for that first win.

B GRADE Round 4 Full Ladder

Cannons v Jockys (forfeit) Match Stats

Unfortunately the Jockys had to forfeit this match.  (We have received the scoresheet from Cannons now;  thanks Neil.)

Mitchelton Mustangs 12 v Wanderers 3  Match Stats

The Mustangs had a cracking night against the Wanderers and had the evening won by the end of the second round, but the score sheet doesn’t reflect how tight the matches were on the night, with majority of games going to 3.

Snow and Dave got the Wanderers off to a solid start taking their doubles win, but the rest of the round would go to the Mustangs. They came out firing in the second round, taking every single win but all matches went to three. Richo and Lindsey had stellar performances scoring 5 tonnes  each and Lindsey scoring a classy 86 peg. The Wanderers made sure to take a couple of wins in the last round, thanks to Christian and Lance but the Mustangs were too good on the night. Special mention to the 140 earners on the night – Lindsey, Matt, and Lance.

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 3

Premier League Round 2 Full Ladder

We’re On 16 vs Motley Mustangs 4 Match Stats

The bragging rights in the Mitchy FC local derby going to the favourites by a score of 16 to 4.

Strong work all night from Pas (4 140s) and Horse (6 140s) who both won 6 from 6 with Aaron M not far behind with 5 wins (3 singles, 2 doubles) and 5 140s, a 180 and 2 17 darters to his name.  Aaron W picked up 3 wins (a singles and 2 doubles) but hit 4 140s, a 180 and an 18 darter along the way.

Glen best for the Motleys with 2 singles wins, and singles circles also for Stephen (2 140s) and Michael (2 140s).  Rico hit a 104 on his PL debut while filling in for the short-handed Mustangs.  Question: Can Mustangs be short-handed if they don’t have hands…?

Scorpions 13 vs Raptors 7 Match Stats

When the Scorpions throw well they are hard to beat and the scoresheet from this one shows they were on pretty good form with 18 140s, 3 180s, 3 low games and 2 high pegs between them.

This game was somewhat in the balance when the Scorps led 6-4 at the halfway stage but they closed out 3 of the next 4 games in deciding legs to take the two league points.  Corey once again showing he’s a match for anyone in this comp with 5 wins, 4 140s, a 108 peg and an 18 darter while both Daral (2 140s) and Mark (a 140 and a 180) continue to find their fit in PL with 2 wins each.

All Scorps worth of a mention I reckon:
Pat: 4 wins and 6 140s
Brian: 3 wins, a 180, a 116 peg and an 18 darter
Glen: 3 wins, 3 140s and a 180
BA: 3 wins, 2 140s and a 180
Scotty: 2 wins and 7 140s

Dragoffs 11 vs Imports 9 Match Stats

The PL game of the round at Chermside.  After taking a 2-0 lead from the doubles the next six games were shared giving the home team a 5-3 lead.  Imports grabbed the next to games to level it up and from there it went back and forth.  A Dragoffs 7-5 lead became 7-all, then 8-all and, with only the doubles to play, 9-all.  Carlos and Gabe ensured the home team would continue the season undefeated before Blags and Corey took the last circle in the deciding leg to end and absolute thriller.

Lovely to see Carlos throwing more like he can do once again.  He lead the home team with 5 wins and 3 140s with Gabe picking up 4 wins and 2 140s.  Skipper Blags (1 140) and Corey both won 3 times with Corey hitting an as-good-as-a-maximum 174 and a 140.

Richard was the Imports king on the night with 4 wins with 2 each for Shane, who hit 2 140s and Matt, who hit a 140 and an excellent 153 peg.

Peeping Toms 5 Vs Strays 15 Match Stats

One sided at Wantima in a game that was played in excellent spirits throughout.

An off night by his standards for Ross (2 singles wins, 1 doubles win, 4 140s and a 100 peg), with wins also for Sam (1 singles, 1 doubles) and Tim (1 singles).  Sam managed a one leg trifecta by opening with a 180, closing with a 116 checkout and having 4 walks in between for an 18 darter.  Tim hit 1 140 and maybe as many as two tons, possibly three.

Topping things for the visitors with 3 singles and 2 doubles wins each were Dave, who hit 3 140s, a 180 and high pegs of 120 and 100 with single 20, Tops, Tops; and Frosty who hit 4 140s.  Ciaran (3 140s) and Banz (4 140s and a 16 darter) won three singles and one doubles.

A quick note to the score keepers out there.  While this entry for Chris B in the 140s column indicates that there were 5 hit we are unable to pay them unless recorded individually.

A GRADE Round 2 Full Ladder

Gremlins 7 vs Tossers 14 Match Stats

It was a fine performance by the whole Tossers team but notably Daniel (4 wins, 5 tons), Tracy (3 wins, 3 tons and 140) Rob (10 tons and 2 140s, 3 wins) and Paddy (8 tons and 140). It started with a bang for Tossers being 7-2 up after round 2.

It was a tough night for the Gremlins but with steady captaincy of Terry (6 tons) and Ian picking up 2 wins each still made the Tossers work for their win.

Nemesis 10 vs Seagulls 11  Match Stats

It was local derby at the Brook and true to form it was a cracker of a match. The Seagulls started off by winning all doubles which gave them a handy lead, but also Gary’s (10 tons, 4 wins) 99 peg and 18 dart leg contributed. The tons were flowing for Christian (13 tons) and Steve (4 tons 2×140).

Round 2 saw Nemesis pick up 4 legs which put them 1 point behind, and that where it stayed for the rest of the nigh, 1 point behind. For Nemesis, Brendan picked up 3 wins, 94 peg with 2 darts and Neil who also had a 18 dart leg.

The platform has been laid for the next local derby.

Nek Minit 9 vs Scorpions “B” 12 Match Stats

The reigning champs continue their form coming back at the last round to take the snatch the win from NM.  The Scorpion’s played well with 3 wins each for Grant (7 tons and 140), Tristian (9 tons) and Joe (3 tons and one hundred and eighty!), Shaun L also chipped in with 1 win, 8 tons and 105 peg. Darryl (4 tons and 140) had a rough night and was last being sold to NM.

There were good games on the night and special mention Ben (2 tons and 140) vs Grant and Shaun vs Shaun with Shaun winning, but for NM it was the big fella Mark (4 tons and 2 140) who led the team and Shaun helping with 3 wins.

Javelins 10 vs Pinoy Darters 11  Match Stats

This was always going to be a good battle between 2 tough teams. It was a game that could have really gone either way. It was about composure when it mattered and get that win. The lead change all night and in the end it came down to the last round.

The ton machines continue with Roger having a consistent night (2 wins,15 tons, 140 and one hundred and eighty) and Mel (11 tons, 2 wins),

For Javelins Bryan (4 tons and 140) Pete, Tony and Hugh who picked up 2 wins each. Both teams will continue to build on the season and pushing towards the finals later in the season.

Wildcats 9 vs Dragons 12 Match Stats

Nikki was on fire and producing some of her best darts with 4 wins, 3 tons and a 91 peg, this certainly laid the foundation for the Wildcats but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as it was the Dragons who put the fire into the dragon after being down 3-6 after round 2.

It was that momentum that the Dragons needed with Connor (5 tons, 140, 3 wins) and Dave (3 wins), Gav (2 wins) and Mark (2 wins) sealing the victory.

For Wildcats it was good to see Jennifer score a win and 5 tons.

B GRADE Round 2 Full Ladder

Wanderers 3 vs Cannons 12  Match Stats

Well it was fair to say that the Wanderers copped a walloping in this one with a full strength Cannons back in league. Wanderers didn’t get a leg up until the 3rd round but Tim, Dave and Christian made sure the Wanderers didn’t get a pantsing. Special mention to Dave scoring 4 tons on the evening.

The Cannons had a cracking night and West Mitchie was the place to be for 180s in this round. Special mention to Jason Powell scoring a 180 on the night down one end and Gary Moore with a solid 140. Pretty sure most of the north side heard that celebration! Great job to the Cannons, showing they’ll be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Jockys 7 vs The Links 8  Match Stats

The celebration continued down the other end at West Mitchie in this round. The Links lads were on fire with both Nicky and Aden scoring 180s in their games. It was great to hear the excitement across the venue – well done guys!

This match was a fight down to the last dart. Well done to the Jockys who put up a strong fight, and special mention to Derek (3 wins, 2 tons and a 125), and Ian (2 wins, 5 tons and a 140). Congrats to The Links who held on til the end, with Nicky providing us with his normal stellar performance (7 tons including 180 and 120). The match came down to the last game of the night – Clive and Nicky, fortunately for The Links they finished strong but great effort to the Jockys making them work for it!

BNSDC – 2018 – Season 1 – Week 2

Premier League Round 2 Full Ladder

We’re On 16 vs Raptors 4 Match Stats

It’s unusual for the people of Oodnadatta, South Australia to take an interest in BNSDC fixtures but as “Hottest Place in Australia” record holders since 1960 they were keeping a close eye on this one.  Luckily for them the temperature in the scorer’s corner didn’t ever to their record of 50.7c although it got close a few times.

On to the game…. This one started out pretty close with Raptors taking four of the first eight games of singles after losing both of the opening doubles. From there it was one way traffic as WO turned a 6-4 lead into a 16-4 win.

Aaron M putting in a first class performance with 6 wins with 6 140s, 2 180s and low games of 16 and 14 darts. Five wins on the night for Aaron W (4 140s and a 103 peg) and Horse (4 140s and an 18 darter).

Corey leading Raptor with 2 wins, 5 140s and a 106 with peg with wins each for Dinga, who hit a 105 peg, and Mark who had an 18 darter.

Motley Mustangs 2 vs Strays 18 Match Stats

In the other side of the hotbox Motley Mustangs hosted Strays in what turned out to be a one-sided affair. Picking up the two wins for the Motleys were Steve who hit 2 140s and a 180 and Glen who knocked in 5 140s and a 105 peg.

Six from six for Dave (5 140s) and Banz (a maximum) with 5 each for Ciaran (2 140s) and Frosty (5 140s).

Imports 7 Vs Scorpions 13 Match Stats

The Scorpions flew out to a 7-1 lead but Imports gave themselves a chance by winning four of the next five to get back to 8-5.  That was a close as they were able to get and Scorpions closed out the win in the last round of singles.

Back in the Imports lineup was Shane, leading the way with 3 wins and two 140s with two wins each for Matt (3 140s) and Richard (2 140s and a 180).

The champs have quality from top to bottom and all four of the team picked up 4 wins each. Line honours going to Scotty with 5 140s and an xx darter with Brian also hitting 5 140s and BA knocking in a 160 peg.

Dragoffs 11 vs Peeping Toms 9 Match Stats

The Toms had last year’s runners up on the ropes and were 6-3 up just before the halfway stage before the home team dug in and seven of the next eight to secure at least a point.  The last round of singles went to the visitors to make it 10-8 with the doubles to come but Carlos and Gabe closed the match out with a 2-0 win.

Carlos really firing up with the heaviest scoring night of the PL season with 8 140s and 2 180s amongst his 4 wins. Gabe also picked up 4 wins hitting 4 140s, a xx peg and a 15 darter. The other two Dragoffs also contributed key wins in this close match, Corey with 3 circles and Blags with 2.

For the Toms it was that man Ross leading the way with 4 wins and 3 140s but a big night for Sam as he also picked up 4 wins with a couple of 140s.

A GRADE Round 2 Full Ladder

Javelins 11 v Gremlins 10 Match Stats

The Javelins chalked up a win against the Tossers who clearly came spoiling for a fight. And they found one. Patrick from the Tossers decided to spray down the battlefield with 15 tons and ton pluses and threw in a 17 dart game for good measure. And Rob laying down a field of fire himself with 8 clean tons and dropped a bomb halfway through with a 180 and snatching three wins of his own.

But the Javelins who were not taking that stuff lying down were shooting back with some epic spears of their own most notably Peter who felt the need to establish some dominance by shooting a 102 peg to snatch a victory and Max who laid down some serious cover fire with 7 tons and two wins to add to the collection of victories over the night with the Javelins keeping their cool and loading up their wins everyone did their part and chalked up another one. Quite a skirmish indeed, well done Javelins!

Scorpions “B” 20 v Nemesis 1 Match Stats

The 4 Nems unable to perform a miracle against a full-strength Scorpions “B” side featuring new recruit Ivesy who won four from four and hit 11 tons.  Unbeaten also were Hilly (5 tons), Tristan (7 tons), Grant (4 tons, a 15 darter) and Darryl (9 tons).  Julie (4 tons) picked up the visitor’s only circle but Alena knocked in 4 tons as well.

Seagulls 15 v Dragons 6 Match Stats

These two teams were ton machines! The Seagulls came out strong taking all games in the doubles rounds. No doubt being helped by Christian’s 11 tons, Rudi’s 13 and Gary’s 10 over the course of the night.

Dragons kept the lads in check though and Ben, Cathy and Chadders took their games in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to keep in the game but by the end of the 3rd round the Seagulls had won the night. Special mention to Mark L scoring a 174 amongst his tons, and 140’s going to the ladies Paula and Cathy. Connor had a solid night with 8 tons and one game in 2 legs.

On the Seagulls side special mention to Christian’s 17 dart game – well done, and both Gary and each completed a 90 peg.

Pinoy Darters 11 v Wildcats 10  Match Stats

This match looked like a fight to the last dart. Pinoy Darters took the night but not without a solid effort from the Wildcat ladies answering them back. The ladies were in the lead right until the middle of the 3rd round until Caleb took a win late in the 3rd round and then the Pinoy Darters brought it home.

Special mention to Nikki taking a win for all her games on the night, and Mel and Dom for taking all of their games. Vikki had a great scoring night notching 8 tonnes up on her belt, with Kylie and Nikki not far behind. Mel had an 18 dart game on the night which was surely helped by his 8 tons scored on the night.

Nek Minit 16 vs Gremlins 5  Match Stats

Nek Minit had a great night yet again with a solid 16 to 5 win against the Gremlins. Nek Minit took an early lead in the night with their doubles win, but Jack made sure to secure one game of the round to keep in the game.

Nek Minit proved too strong in their singles rounds, taking 5, 4 and 5 games in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th round respectively. The Gremlin’s Joe, Peter and Steve all took their singles games in 2 legs but it wasn’t enough to take the win.

Special mention to Mark and Ngawai both scoring 180s on the night, and a 156 to Alex from the Gremlins.

B GRADE Round 2 Full Ladder

Cannons 9 v Mustangs 6

First game back for the Cannons for 2018 and it was great to have them back. Even though the lads didn’t have a full strength team, they played strong and made sure to take a few legs off the Mustangs to make them work for it.

Mustangs took the night with a 9 to 6 win but the 4 Cannons almost out-tonne the Mustangs on the night. Gary had a great night with 4 tonnes – 2 solid 100’s, a 116 and 119. As well, Tom, Scotty and Neil all scored 3 tonnes on the night.

Richard had a strong scoring night putting 6 tonnes under his belt, scoring a 140 and 14 during his night.

Mustangs took the night on this occasion, but will be great to see a full strength Cannons match the Mustangs later during the season.

The Links 9 v Wanderers 6

A hot and humid night proved a decent challenge for these two teams. This match was tight right up until the middle of the last round.

Dave and Lance had a great game against Ben and Antoinette, but took the win to put the Wanderers up a game. This was answered back by The Links, with father and son Pieter and Nicky pegging their doubles win to put The Links in the lead.

Second round was even – 3 games to The Links and 3 to the Wanderers. No one was going down without a solid fight. Lance took his first leg in two, he wasn’t mucking around, and Snow and Tim came through to keep the Wanderers in the fight. Yash and Nicky took their games in two also, and it brought the night down to the final round.

Lance fought Yash in a nail-biting match, but eventually took the win in 2, and then The Links stormed away with it with a strong player sequencing, winning the rest of their matches in 2 legs. Dave made sure to leave them with a little reminder of Wanderer magic, taking his game in 2 legs but The Links won overall 9 to 6.

Premier League Round 1 Full Ladder

Strays 10 vs We’re On 10 Match Stats

Strays were level at the opening handshake and again when the last dart was thrown but at no point in between as We’re On won the first two games of doubles and then pushed out to leads of 6-1 and 8-2.  This was the point at which Strays started their comeback the only way possible: one leg a time, one game at a time.  At 10-8 down with the doubles to come lead pair Frosty and Dave won to take it to the final game before Banz and Ciaran completed to comeback and grabbed a share of the points.

Four wins apiece for Pas who threw 5 140s and a maximum and John, who ticked every box with 3 140s, a 180, a 17 darter and an even 100 peg.  A welcome return to BNSDC for Aaron M who hit 3 140’s and 2 180’s on his We’re On debut.

It’s worth mentioning that a total of 25 140s, 7 180s, 4 low games and 1 high peg were thrown – good darts!

Raptors 9 vs Dragoffs 11 Match Stats

Team debuts on both sides of the book for this one with Corey A and Gabe turning out for Dragoffs and Mark B and Daral for Raptors.  Players both new and old were treated to a thriller with this one going all the way after plenty of ups and downs along the way.  Both teams held the lead at one stage with Raptors edging ahead at 6-5 only for Dragoffs to take 5 from 6 and get within 1 of victory with the doubles to play.  Raptors Corey and Mark ensured the last game would be vital but it was Carlos and Gabe who took it along with the 2 league points.

New boy Mark (4 140s) won 4 times and Corey N three times hitting 5 140s, 2 180s and low games of 16 and 17 darts.

Gabe had a near perfect start to his Dragoffs career with 5 wins and 2 140s, with Carlos and Blags winning three each.

Imports 11 Vs Motley Mustangs 9 Match Stats

It was a new look Imports who grabbed the spoils with Richard W and Matt S making match winning contributions against Motley Mustangs who previously went by the name Red Scorpions.

There was nothing to separate these two teams as they went together from 0-0 to 7-7 before the home team peeled off the last four games of singles to render the games of doubles academic.

For the home team it was 3 wins each for Andy, Matt and Richard who hit a 180 and for the visitors Glen and Willy both won 4 times on the night.

Peeping Toms 4 Vs Scorpions 11 Match Stats

Season 2 2017 champs Scorpions started where they left off with a thumping win against The Toms with Ross (3 wins, a 119 peg, two 18 darters and 4 140s) and Chris G (1 win, 1 140) the only ones able to grab a win.

Pinoy Darters 16 vs Dragons 5 Match Stats

The always-dangerous Pinoys took the biscuits in this all-Chermside contest.

Two players went unbeaten for the Filipino boys, Bob (4 wins, 1 ton) and Roger (3 wins, an 18 darter, 7 tons, 2 140s and a 165) with Dom taking 3 singles wins from three with a couple of tons.  Leo got the biggest cheer of the night with a very tidy 118 peg.

Connor (3 wins, 1 140) and Gav (4 tons) leading things for Dragons with 2 wins each. In other news there was a welcome return to BNSDC darts for my former Arrows captain Chadders.  Dave celebrated his return with 3 tons, two of which were of the 140 variety and a win in the doubles with Connor.

Javelins 11 vs Gremlins 10 Match Stats

A new year and some new faces in the Gremlins team: a warm welcome to BNSDC goes out to Jack, Joe, Mark and Steve.  Playing host to them was a very familiar Javelins lineup who once again proved that they know how to win.  On this occasion they delivered the two league points by taking a 2-1 lead in the doubles and then dividing each of the three rounds of singles 3-all.

Leading from the front was Pete with 4 wins and 7 tons, two of which were 140s with three wins each for Bryan (6 tons) and Max (1 ton).

Two Gremlins went undefeated on the night with Steve impressing on debut with 4 wins and 5 tons and Terry (5 tons) winning the three singles games he played.  A mention also to one of the other newcomers who picked up a singles win and hit 4 tons and 2 140s.

Seagulls 14 vs Tossers 7  Match Stats

Seagulls are a new team formed from a few ex-Devils and some other familiar BNSDC faces and they played host to newly promoted Tossers.  In the end they were too good despite trailing 2-1 after the round of doubles.  From there they took each round of singles to complete what was a pretty comfortable win in the end.

A good spread of wins for the home team but none better than captain Christian who won 3 from 3 and fired in 11 tons and a 16 darter.  Of the multiple two time winners a shout out to Steve with 7 tons and 3 140s and Gary with 7 tons and 1 140.  Dave also gets a mention for hitting a 180.

For Tossers Rob kept the scorers busy with 3 wins an 18 darter and 18 (yes eighteen) tons which feels as if it has to be some sort of record – watch this space. Two wins each for Pat (8 tons) and Daniel (7 tons)

Nek Minit 14 vs Nemesis 7  Match Stats

Nek Minit ran out 14-7 winners against Nemesis thanks to everyone chipping in as the team went from strength to strength grabbing two doubles and then 3 from 6, 4 from 6 and finally 5 from 6 in the rounds of singles.

Two NM players won 4 from 4 and there was hardly anything to separate them as Mark hit 7 tons but Shaun pipping him with 8.

For Nemesis Brendan hit the ground running with three singles wins and 8 tons and Julie won twice with a 118 peg.  New face Neil picked up a win and hit 2 tons, 1 140 and his first BNSDC maximum!
